Utd drop Paton and Wilson for ICT game

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29734001

Dundee Utd have said that Paul Paton and Mark Wilson will not be part of the Utd squad to face ICT pending an investigation of their involvement (or otherwise) in the Lukasz Zaluska incident reported here :

"A number of footballers are known to have been in Ashton Lane at the time of the incident. They included Dundee United players Mark Wilson and Paul Paton, St Mirren midfielder Jim Goodwin and former Stenhousemuir goalie Chris McCluskey."

What's the attraction of this Ashton Lane that makes it a magnet for footballers?!

Jim Goodwin is clearly innocent as he would have never taken him from behind by surprise and would have left him in a far worse state. Mccluskey is clearly part of the Goalkeepers Union and nobody would have heard of him far less recognised him. Wilson clearly left his Mark and Paul gave him a Pat on his napper.

A difficult game in prospect. I'll take any advantage we can. Please be careful in discussing this thread as neither player has yet been charged with any offence.

I really dislike Ashton Lane, I never feel relaxed in the company of the sort of people who go there.  There are far preferable areas of Glasgow to drink in IMO.

Is that not where the "Ubiquitous Chip" is?

Never had a problem with Ashton Lane the odd time I've been. Some of the places are decent, I'de say it's more hipster if anything.. The Corinthian is where your "ballers" go.

Anyway, it could be of advantage to us but soon as anyone on the squad starts thinking that, you have to avoid complacency.. however much it may be. We still need to play incredibly well.. they're in second for a reason.

I've never had and any bother in the West End. But unlike Zaluska I'm not a Celtic player. Also I could probably handle two Dundee United players, allegedly like. Allegedly.

Is this the pre match thread then? Not having a go but is the fact we don't even seem to have a 'proper' build up thread an indication of how interest is falling away? Seems to be barely any match build up these days.

I also noticed that the last match day thread 'ended' at a grand total of 2 pages. An away win, no less and with a sending-off, a penalty and countless bookings!

Although to be fair, home games should attract more comments, with folk being more likely to post their observations if they've been in attendance at a game.
