ICT in Europe

At the risk of jinxing everything, I am trying to piece together my schedule so I can make myself free just on the off chance we have a jolly jaunt into Europe next season.

Does anyone know the likely dates that we will be playing?

Huge, huge congratulations to everyone at the club - not just for the stunning achievement this season but for everyone's 21 years of hard graft and endeavour to get us to where we are today.   Who

Growing up as a kid in Inverness in the 70s, I would never of dreamed of having a team in the Scottish Leagues. Now 40 years on, Inverness has the 3rd best team in the country, and qualified for E

It just happens to be that every team from those nations are playing unseeded sides from round 2 meaning even if they win they still can't play us because they can't take the seed.

Still no word of the 'mini groupings' yet!

None of those teams are playing seeded sides that are in the 2nd round. If any of the teams from those nations win they will be unseeded for the 2nd round like us.

I don't get that? Surely the number of seeds has to remain for the draw to work?

there were 102 teams in round 1, the 51 with the highest coefficient being seeded.

There are 66 in round 2, the top 33 being seeded. Because the rounds are drawn together, UEFA seed assuming that the team with the highest coefficient will win in round 1 when seeding for round 2.

An unseeded team in round 1 could be seeded in round 2 if the beat a seed with a high enough coefficient

remember, this is uefa, so it's not meant to be simple to understand

"The groupings for the second qualifying round will be made after the first qualifying round draw. The balls representing the winners of each first qualifying round tie will take the coefficient of the seeded club in each tie."

Waiting for the balls to warm up eh!

ICT v Astra !

ICT vs FC Astra (Rou)

Looks like its a couple of hard games and a trip to romania for 2nd leg, we have FC Astra

Fc Astra - put out Lyon last season......

Fc Astra - put out Lyon last season......

And ran the septics into the ground as well

They also finished bottom of Celtic's Europe League group last season.  At least it's not a complete unknown then, hopefully Celtic will be kind enough to pass on a dossier.

That's a poor draw,  Think we will struggle against them.  Astra play in Bucharest?

Astra, hard team, it's not that far from bucharest (near the bulgarian border) you can fly there from Luton with Wizz beers about 90p a pint and your average hotel room costs £29.00. Could be worse.

They play in Giurgiu, a city of 55,000, situated right on the Romania/Bulgaria border.

In France, we say : "Impossible n'est pas français !". Come on ICT !

Nice ground.

Don't know how accurate this is but the 1 hour journey from Bucharest airport to Guirgui is £3 by bus, £15 by train and £20 by taxi....

Another important bit of info,  You don't need a Visa to get in which is handy.
