ICT in Europe

At the risk of jinxing everything, I am trying to piece together my schedule so I can make myself free just on the off chance we have a jolly jaunt into Europe next season.

Does anyone know the likely dates that we will be playing?

Huge, huge congratulations to everyone at the club - not just for the stunning achievement this season but for everyone's 21 years of hard graft and endeavour to get us to where we are today.   Who

Growing up as a kid in Inverness in the 70s, I would never of dreamed of having a team in the Scottish Leagues. Now 40 years on, Inverness has the 3rd best team in the country, and qualified for E

Happy enough with the draw especially the first leg being at the TCS which we should hopefully gain a bit of the advantage. Second leg should be a cracking tie though.

The fact that we don't need to wait for the outcome of a previous match and that we are at home first means there is maximum time to make arrange for getting to Romania.

Astra may have given Celtic a hard time last year - but they lost.  We gave Celtic a hard time and won so there is no reason to think we can't win this.  What you need to beat an Astra is a Cavalier approach.

Astra's European matches last season consisted of

Beating Lyon on Away Goals

Losing to Salzburg 7-2 AGG

Losing to Celtic 3-2 AGG

Losing to Zagreb 5-2 AGG

Could we maybe open a new thread for people travelling to Romania for this one.  Adding flight/accommodation prices and advice from whatever you can find on it.

Yeah I think so however I did hear the guy doing the draw saying some ties may be swapped and it won't be concrete until the official draw is up tomorrow.

Maybe get a hold of Gregory Tade and get the low-down on this team! His team, CFR Cluj beat Astra home-and-away last season with Tade getting a couple of goals.

Marius Niculae too, if he's still on speaking terms with the club - he played against Astra at the end of April.

and come out the victors. boom boom!

Weirdly, looking at SkyScanner there you can get from Glasgow via Heathrow to Bucharest for just over £300 return.  Even though it's further away, it's cheaper than a trip to Iceland would've been.

Just had a look at some websites,  You can fly to Bucharest on the wed from Luton or Stansted for a return on the Friday for £179 However the flight back is to Stansted, there doesn't seem to be the option of luton so maybe they don't fly in there on Fridays.

I fly down to Luton a lot with work from Glasgow with easy jet and you can get returns for as cheap as £45.

Tuesday night Glasgow - Stansted
Wednesday morning Stansted - Bucharest
Friday night Bucharest - Stansted
Saturday morning Stansted - Glasgow

£210

Best I can find for Stansted, will have a look for Heathrow just now.

And when you all get there you can meet up with their fans and discuss the 'M'  word. They've been involved in a lot of mergers and name changes in their history.

Heathrow is a shorter journey than Stansted.

Wednesday 10.50 -Glasgow - Heathrow
Wednesday Heathrow - Bucharest arrive at 8pm

Friday 12.30 Bucharest - Heathrow
Heathrow - Glasgow arrive at 22.00

Price £340

Only problem with this one is the early-ish flight from Bucharest on the Friday.  If it's an hour trek then that means an early start after the game.

You can go from Luton to Varna in Bulgaria for £230 according to Skyscanner. Another option maybe.

There is a calendar entry that will allow users to RSVP and we will add any travel info in there. There also appears to be a new thread for build up and info which was posted after you made this comment which we will pin and add info to.

Varna is supposedly a 4.50hr journey by train and bus to Giurgiu.

I'd suggest that folk wait of booking till they find out the club travel arrangements. They may charter a plane. Its possible that a 737 could be chartered, provided the 186 seats could be filled, at a cost of around £300 - £400 a seat.

Of corsa

West Ham are seeded for round 1, if they play Newport and new port win then Newport would then be seeded for round 2 because West Ham are already seeded for round 2

If Valetta who are seeded for round 1 play Newport and new port win they are both still unseeded for round 2 meaning we cant play either.

Don't you mean Newtown of Wales, Newport are in English League1 or2 so are not in Europe?

Initial look-in. For a quick stop over

Flying Glasgow -> London -> Bucharest and back depending on a few days and times all range from 200-230 return. Either out on Tuesday or Wednesday, returning late Friday.

Seems a no-brainer

Flights booked for 22nd to 24th?
