2025/26 Squad

From the Inverness Courier, it looks like we can offer existing players contract extensions even though we're still in administration.

According to the P&J, Danny Devine is the first to say publicly that he intends to stay.

The squad assembled should walk this league

....once they get to know each other and find their patterns. As Robert has said elsewhere, the first few games will be a learning experience and could go any way.

Given where we were this time last year and then in October, this has to be one of the more enjoyable pre-seasons for any Caley fan. It feels like we have really been working to a plan and retaining Longstaff, Savage and Allan were big pluses. The fact that Stewart and Bavidge were so happy to come back is a terrific sign, along with Wotherspoon returning. There are a number of really interesting signings with real potential such as Sole

Any news on McKinnon (was aware he was injured) ?

Fingers crossed for the season ahead, sadly no trips up for me until November when I am up for the Montrose game...Retirement[cash]/family commitments/starting University all factors

More than happy with the squad we have started the season with and don't even feel the need to caveat that with an "all things considered".

Looking forward to seeing how the team develops once they've had more chance to gel and get familiar with each other.

Not sure about this one, but Robbie Thompson is also off to Brora until January shrug

I see Robbie scored on his debut for Brora.

Good Luck Robbie

Which of our loan players are only here until January? I know Sole but unsure when we have the Alfie’s until. I think it will do him good getting first team football, especially for a team competing for the league. Come January when we lose someone he will be ready to rock.

At the Fans Meeting, Charlie Christie confirmed we have Bavidge all season but Stewart until January, although he hopes that may be extended. Sole is until January. Robertson is for the full season.

Graeme Shinnie is out of contract in May ‘26 with many Dons fans saying he is past it. Andrew is also out of contract. Time to bring both home to ICT?

No

Ben Corner has agreed to extend his contract to the end of the season and has joined Clach on loan until January.

Any word on how Jake Davidson’s recovery is going as his contract expires in January as things stand?

JakeDavidson-1170x650.jpgInverness Caledonian Thistle FC are delighted to announce that defender Jake Davidson has extended his contract until the end of the season, subject to SFA clearance.

Jake, 25 years-old, has been working hard on his recovery after suffering a knee injury in November 2024. The defender had initially signed a deal until January 2026 last summer, but has now extended his terms until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Jake returned to action last Friday, playing 45 minutes for our Under 19s side in their 1–0 win against Dundee.

Upon signing his contract extension, Jake said: “I’m delighted to have things finalised and to sign until the end of the season. It’s been a long road for me, but I was glad to make my return last Friday and play my first game of football in over a year.”

“I’d like to thank all the staff at the club for their support during my recovery, as well as the boys, who have been fantastic with me. I can’t wait to be back involved, and I’m currently building up my fitness in training to return to the squad.”

Rumours are that Ross Millen is in line for a lengthy ban after his sending off so this would seem like a sensible move.

It’s good to see Davidson’s contract extended, and a good message to players that we now look after them fairly.

However, with only 45 minutes under his belt at under 19 level it will be a while until he’s ready to play 90 in the league.

Macleod has been a more than capable deputy.

He needs released because that is totally unacceptable!!

I don't want anyone like him at the club as it will give us a bad reputation, he can easily be replaced!
