2025/26 Squad

From the Inverness Courier, it looks like we can offer existing players contract extensions even though we're still in administration.

According to the P&J, Danny Devine is the first to say publicly that he intends to stay.

We are judging the player based on rumours, which may or may not turn out to have any substance.

I’ve no idea what he said or how bad it was.

Let’s await any ban that is imposed (other than the mandatory one he will face) as only then will we have an understanding of the seriousness of the situation and whether it went beyond typical levels of dissent or has just been a storm in a teacup.

If the rumours are true, he’s probably looking at a 10 match ban. So absolutely no use to us.

Might be useful to have a fully-fit player when the injury crisis hits us as we go into the last quarter of the season wink

Why the secrecy for him?

What did he do?

Seem to recall someone saying it would be a lengthy ban after the match a few weeks ago but yes, a lot of silence about why ... If you google all the lengthy bans in Scotland, then most are for betting but clearly that is not the case here.

He said something to the ref and got a red card.

Must have been an absolute doozy of a conversation then!

Leaving aside the betting and COVID bans, Dick Campbell got 7 games for confronting a ref after storming the pitch, and any other lengthy bans I can find (all less than 10 games) are either for fights or for 'slurs' uttered towards other players. Only Dave Bowman is the exception with a 17-game ban. He got 5 red cards in a single game after getting the first for a bad tackle. He went ballistic at the decision and later acknowledged it wasnt his finest moment! He got three more cards for refusing to leave the pitch, giving the referee his 'views' on the card and trying to snatch it out of his hand and finally kicking the referee's dressing room door and getting the fifth. Even in England, John Terry only got 12 games for headbutting the referee.

Players guilty of racist abuse in recent years have tended to get banned for anything up to 8 matches for the most serious. My initial thoughts are that anyone who does worse than that probably shouldn’t play for the club ever again, but I guess we’ll never be told officially what was said.

We, the fans, probably won't. But the club will have been told, in the referee's report, which they will have received soon after the match.

Looks like Ben Brannan is coming back on loan so that would suggest that Millen is finished with us.

Will be interesting to see where he fits into the team given that the boy McLeod has done really well at right back and we’re not exactly short of midfielders.
