ICT Squad 2026/27

Seeing as the season is now officially over and we have been crowned League 1 winners, I will post this now so that you guys can let me know who's under contract for next season.

It can also be used to post the list of retained and released players once that has been announced 👍.

Finally, it can also be used for transfer rumours and signings. On that I'll start with one from Everything Caley's Instagram who seem to suggest we are after Ruth's Dylan Smith. I also see on Twitter from The Scarf that Alfie Bavidge is signing permanently 😱👍.

This off-season I certainly trust Kells, Charlie, and Alan Savage far more than previous incumbents to make the best and most affordable choices for ICT. If they can put together a squad that finishe

He could still do a decent job for us in the Championship…

  • I am happy to leave all the signings to the manager and the board but think Shinnie would be a good addition if we can afford him. As long as we don't have a team of old codgers If I remember right s

What about Daniel Mackay? He has had a bad injury so likely not kept on. He would be looking for someone to give him a chance, yes it’s an injury risk but he would surely be driven to improve and he was a cracking young player. Goodness knows we could do with forward options!

What about Roddy MacGregor? Jay Henderson?

There will be a lot more options available in the coming days, hopefully our recruitment is casting a wider net than just re-signing everyone who's ever played for us. Sure there might be some options in this regard, but are they the right ones?

As a teenager, Dan MacKay looked as if he could follow in the footsteps of Ryan Christie and have a very successful future at a higher level. Sadly, he has been plagued by injury and has not shown the form he displayed as a teenager. Having made a big move to Hibs in 2021, he only made 2 appearances for them and then went out on loan. Since his 2021 move, he has only scored 3 league goals, 2 of which were during his loan spell with us. In June 2024 he signed a 2 year contract with Partick Thistle but failed to make a single appearance for them.

Signing Dan would be a big risk, but returning to his revitalised hometown club might just be the trigger for him to revitalise his career. It would be a risk I would be happy for the club to take, but more generally, I agree with Satan that we need to cast a wider net. The club has a good record of finding players who have underperformed at their current clubs and bringing the best out of them here. I am sure we will continue to do that.

What ever happened to the Dylan Smith rumour because it's gone very quiet on that front? Is he still an option or was that b*****it?

Take your pick, although B……it doesn’t appear below.😀

A rumour (or rumor in American English) is an unverified piece of information, story, or statement that circulates among people without concrete proof. While it spreads rapidly by word of mouth or online, it may turn out to be completely false, partially true, or entirely accurate once verified.

Paul Allan signs on until 2027. Although I originally seen the rumour was 2 years, I wonder what happened there.

Can someone now do one of those squad posts that show who’s signed up for the new season?

We were led to believe it would be a two year deal. I have amended it to a 1 year deal as per official release from the Club. I wonder if it's initial 1 year with possible extension written in?

This is our list as we have it so far.

  • Paul Allan 26/27
    Daniel Devine 26/27
    Luis Longstaff 26/27
    Adam Mackinnon 26/27
    Calum MacLeod 26/27

    Logan Ross 26/27
    Ross Munro 27/28
    Graeme Shinnie 27/28

We need to extend calum and adam.

They have huge potential and better to be paid when they leave.

Whats happening to Remi? He wasnt on released list at end of contract but no annoncement of extension?

Yes agreed. Any jungle drums on Remi Savage? Is he wanting somewhere else to play (back home, higher league or more money), or waiting for AS to come up with a better deal?

Pivotal if not defining signing IMO.

Realistically, with so many players contracts expiring on 31 May 2026, it is likely we will get a lot of updates from Monday of either some of our own, or more likely signing some of those out of contract with other clubs.

Maybe not (regarding new signings) if the below article in the P and J is anything to go by 😉.

Now waiting for newspaper shop to open....

Have yourself a long lie in, nothing to see here.

Caley Thistle manager Scott Kellacher admits he’ll have to show patience in the summer transfer window.

Fresh from leading his hometown team to the League One title in his first full season as head coach, his work has not stopped since winning promotion a month ago.

There are player contracts to sort out, but the signing of Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie on a two-year deal was a great opening move, with goalkeepers Ross Munro and Logan Ross and midfielder Paul Allan all signing new contracts last week.

Kellacher is also trying to secure the signings of Alfie Bavidge and Alfie Stewart, who helped ICT win automatic promotion back to the Championship.

The duo, who were on loan from Aberdeen last term, have been offered contracts at the Dons, having been told they would not be staying before Stephen Robinson became the manager in March.

‘I’m quite impatient. I like to try and get transfer business done early’

Most of Caley Thistle’s transfer work was concluded early last year, but Kellacher’s assessment in early June is some targets might take longer to land.

He told The Press and Journal: “There is still a lot of work to do in terms of players we want to keep at the club as well as bring to the club.

“I’m quite impatient. I like to try and get transfer business done early, so that we’re settled.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Scott Kellacher leads the celebrations with his players after winning the SPFL League One title with a 2-1 victory over Hamilton Academical on May 2, 2026 at the Sarens PSG Stadium, Inverness,

Caley Thistle manager Scott Kellacher after winning the League One title.

“I just need to be more patient, because there is a lot of interest in players we’re trying to sign, as well as working with the players already at the club and sorting out contracts.

“We’re almost there with a few more, so hopefully over the next couple of weeks we will get more players in.

“If we’re to take one or two loan players in, we can’t get frustrated if it’s later on. That’s how it might have to be.”

Kellacher’s pride in promotion feat

Stenhousemuir, who took the League One title race all the way, joined Caley Thistle in winning promotion via the play-offs, winning the final against Alloa Athletic, who had sent Airdrie down.

Livingston have been relegated from the Premiership, while Championship runners-up Partick Thistle were edged out 2-1 by St Mirren, keeping the under-pressure Buddies in the top flight.

Kellacher can’t wait to be back in the second tier of Scottish football in a division which also includes Arbroath, Dunfermline Athletic, Raith Rovers, Queen’s Park, Morton and Ayr United, who have taken Gary Naysmith as their manager from Stenhousemuir.

He added: “I’m so proud to be back in the Championship with Caley Thistle.

“It’s an exciting league, including this season when Partick Thistle were very unlucky not to go up. Credit to St Mirren, they got the job done.

“The play-off final is always weighted to help the Premiership side, and it is always hard going for the Championship club.

‘There are a lot of good players and good managers in League One’

“When you see the Championship games on a Friday night, they are brilliant.

“We’re glad to be part of the Championship again.

“League One is a hard division to get out of. We got the job done, but we fully appreciate how hard it was.

“I have to give a lot of teams credit. They were resilient and the play some good football.

“There are a lot of good players and good managers in League One.

“It was a great learning curve, so hopefully that stands us in good stead for the season ahead.”

I know this is the norm at this period of the close-season, but I feel a little uneasy if we end up loosing Remi by playing ‘who blinks first’ with a cheap contract offer. Splashing headlines about resigning Shinnie (where decent money is involved), then playing hard ball with Remi on money could backfire badly if he moves elsewhere for a better purse!

Remi is a far more valuable asset to have in the team next season than Shinnie in my view. Ie we have player options in midfield; central defence is sorely exposed if Danny has to team up with a new (another) sweeper.

Remi has a young family in England so may not wish to stay for any price if an offer on table from nearer home?

Family comes first.

A shame his family hasnt moved north as the highlands is a great place to grow up.

I’m sure the club is doing all it can to keep him.

However, he’s 25 and needs to do what’s right for him and his family.

I really hope he decides that’s to remain with us.

Would be great if he did, and hopefully the club made him an offer that would be good enough that he has to think really hard, but in the end, he has to make the choice that's best for him and his family.
