  1. Isn't it ironic that the Catholic Church call for the sacking of Dallas for forwarding an email, maybe I would be more comfortable with it if the Catholic Church considered taking the same action against their staff that are allegedly guilty of much more serious crimes.

  2. Big congratulations to all involved, listened to the game today as I couldn't make it and at 2-0 down was resigned to this fantastic run ending. Amazing effort by the lads to get back to 2-2 and just proves again how good the team spirit must be in this squad to force the game back their way! Brilliant effort from everyone involved at the club and finally the media seem to be taking notice and realising we play some pretty nice football too. What a year it has been and long may it continue!

  6. I actually thought we were better for the 1st hour when we had an extra man in midfield. Celtic brought Towel on for Hooiveld and changed their 3-5-2 to a 4-4-2 allowing them to get a get a firm grip on the midfield. But all of that counts for little when you're up against the kind of spirit that we have in our side. At 2-0, i looked at the way our players were buzzing around the pitch fighting for every ball, moving it forward with intent, and i thought, christ, they actually believe we can get back in this game........feckin legends every one of them.

  7. Where I agree that we need to rid the game of sectarianism is it not the case that we have to rid society of sectarianism. The only reason this whole thing is being attributed to 'our game' is because of who sent it. He made an error in judgement by sending the email on from his work email address, one that invariably he got found out but how many of us can say that they haven't received an email at work that takes the p#ss out of something else, no matter who they are or what organisation it is, and haven't forwarded it on themselves? I got this same content in an email at work, I saw it online, I heard about it from friends and I even saw it in a newspaper too but I wouldn't say this was attributed to 'our game nor was it condemned. Should we be letting one of the best ex Scottish referees resign from his post due to an error in judgement without putting up a fight, I don't think so. Obviously there will be others that will completely disagree with me but lets get it into context and this is a forum about opinions. Yes i'm sure Celtic had another massive part to play in this and voiced their feelings about it but lets remember it's the same ref that got hit by a coin at their very ground by one of the best fans in the world which could have either taken his eye out or killed him but he kept on officiating the game, I would say that was worthy more of an outcry than this. Who will the SFA bring in to head their refereeing development, my monies on George Peat's bringing in someone who has no clue about the game but can easily be controlled by the SFA nuggets.

  9. Well said Gabby. Let's not beat about the bush here. Dallas sent out a joke. Was it in bad taste......... hey, check out Franky Boyle if you think what Dallas did was in poor taste, get a life folks in the real world. I accept that he should not have sent such an eMail from his works address, but hey, we all like a laugh no...........apparently not.

  13. If I am not mistaken, this thread was about Roy's testimonial against the Legends. The last two pages have reduced the whole affair to a farce. The thread should have been positive and, as far as I can see, it has become very negative. I do not know any of the people involved in posting but it appears to me that they are using the forum to "attack" others. I will "nail my colours to the mast" and admit that Roy is a relative and, without question, I know that everyone was asked to play because of the respect Roy held for them as players. Anyone who has read the interview with Roy on the forum will know that he was as disappointed as the next man at being relegated, but this did not influence his attitude to Craig Brewster as a player. I had the honour to be a guest of Roy's at the match and I can tell you that the people around me (fellow guests and famly members) were disappointed in the reaction of the individuals in the crowd every time Craig touched the ball. My personal opinion is that Craig Brewster could still play to a high standard and I hope that the rest of those watching appreciated the touch and level of fitness that he was renowned for as a player. I have thought long and hard about a reply to this thread but, at the end of the day, it was supposed to be about Roy and I just felt a reply had to be made. Can I respectfully suggest that we get back on the subject of Roy's testimonial and forget "petty squabbles". In my opinion, Roy is one of the most professional players you could come across, but then again I am biased!

  14. The snow in Glasgow is nothing, not even an inch but it is cold so if anything pavements and roads will be icy but that's all Caleyjag and I came down last night from Aberdeen and we had 10 inches of snow at our house so down here is nothing, no danger of the game being postponed due to the weather. I'm glad it's match day cause I'm sick of all this 'is it on' nope wait 'it's on' oh wait another phone call 'not on anymore' nonsense, I never got work done yesterday for all the txts and calls I got about it lol. I'm so looking forward to the game but in a way looking forward to when it's over so hopefully Scottish Football can get back on track and sort themselves out, it's hit rock bottom and couldn't possibly get any worse, the SFA for once need to stand up and be counted, get men in who have a footballing background, understand the game and the clubs and actually have a voice that will be heard, get the duffers out and stop all this jobs for the boys nonsense or should I be saying 'jobs for the bhoys' As Caleyjag said the other night 'it would never have happened in Jim Farry's day' and she's right, Scottish Football has been on a massive downfall for years and someone now needs to stand up and be counted and sort it out. Come on ICT lets show this lot how to play today and get the result everyone is craving for and not just ICT, the whole of Scottish Football, it would really get it up Celtic, Lennon and Reid if they got a bit of what they've been moaning about from a foreign ref, let us see them try and tackle UEFA if that happens!!!!

  15. In times of inclement weather, treacherous travelling conditions, referee strikes, games in doubt, taking on the old Filth away from home, suffering the sectarian bile and restricted views - there is only one thing to do :

  16. I'm going to be controversial here, because I don't have much sympathy for the referees. Yes they may well have a difficult job, but that doesn't excuse them from being as consistenty terrible as they have been. The mistakes being made by referees, not just in Scotland, but right across England as well have been slowly getting more severe. The consequences of their mistakes are greater because they're getting massive, game-changing decisions wrong. A lot of teams in the country could argue that they would be better off by a few points if referees had been doing their jobs properly. They shouldn't be excluded from abuse and criticism because their jobs are dfficult. Point is, they've been bloody awful these last couple of seasons and are rightly getting the criticism their displays have deserved. And now they've thrown their toys out of their prams because they can't hack it. They're making a big deal of this Respect Campign, but if they want respect from players, fans and management, they have to earn that respect by doing their jobs properly. You can't have respect by default. Treat others as you would want to be treated youself, as my grandfather used to say. Referees don't do their jobs to the best of their abilties, make too many mistakes, are getting too consistent in their incorrect decision making, and are robbing teams of points. That doesn't deserve respect, it deserves criticism. About bloody time too.

  20. it is generally called supporting the team, trying to back them so they will produce the goods. Possibly why we have such a bad record at home, the fans wait to be entertained and moan if thingsare going wrong instead of supporting the team. god knows i have tried but everyone tells you to be quiet you are making too much noise....

  22. Wrong forum mate. I find that typical central belt humour a bit tiring. How many teams have an unbeaten run away from home to match ICT's?
