  1. Go compare Aberdeen FC 6-0 East Fife 6918 >>>>>>>>Last home spl match 12487 Dundee Utd 0-0 Ross County 4041 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 6597 Hamilton 2-0 Alloa Athletic 1054 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 3171 Hibernian 0-0 Ayr United 6056 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 10252 Inverness 2-0 Elgin City 2808 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 3735 Montrose 2-2 Dunfermline 1030 <<<<<<<<<SFL v Elgin>>>>>>>> 307 St Mirren 0-0 Peterhead 2312 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 6118 The only club to increase their attendance would be Montrose. Come cup games, Season Ticket sales are not taken into account obviously, therefore only paying punters on the day will be counted, minus the tax mans portion. Check Celtic or Rangers cup attendances over the years in lesser games and I think you will see the same trend.

  2. Jeez, short memories on show here, we once (maybe still are) were a wee team and when we went away in the cup we took thousands away and made more noise than the home many a time!! Its what happens! even away league games away our support is usually more animated and noisy. As for Elgin deserving a replay what B0llocks, they had two shots on target and defended for 90% of the game, only our poor fininshing prevented a big score, Hellgin were a wee team having a big day out at their big SPL neighbours, our small turnout was A. because of the weather and B. because of lack of interest for us playing a wee team where we expected to progress, also just look at some of the other crwods as shown above. We are through to the next round, Sandshoes showed how good he can be and deserves to start a game now.

  3. May not have been in the last three seasons but Neil Lennon & Juanjo spring to mind. Lennon went down like a sack of spuds and simulated being hit in the face, the ref sent off our best player on that day ... Juanjo ! Card was later rescinded but the cheating Lennon had no sanctions taken against him. How was he allowed to make the mistake described above without being demoted ?

  4. Aye, I can just imagine what these Old Codgers were talking about too. "See these young lads... they only come here so they can make a noise and a complete @rse of themselves on a Saturday afternoon. No interest in football at all. Well I suppose it keeps them off the streets. But the soooner they get away back to the North Stand the better. Tut, tut, tut. Pass the Werthers Originals." Don't worry son. The day is approaching faster than you realise. You probably won't suddenly wake up one morning and simply realise that you have become an Old Codger. As sure as night follows day though, it's a status which is certainly coming your way. But enjoy the intolerance of youth for the moment, because it won't be available to you for all that much longer.

  5. ok im going to bite firstly :- i wasnt there because i had to work secondly :- i have an agreement with my wife that i get a season ticket and go to league games, outwith that it is an extra expense we cant afford thirdly :- weekends are pretty much the only time i get to see my kids as they are usually going to bed when i get back from work fourthly :- what gives you the right to come on here and lecture others about them being a disgrace for not attending a game? fifthly :- get a life and realise that there is a whole big wide world out there and many people are getting fed up of your constant fishing trips on here

  6. The show was a disgrace from start to finish. It was on for 80 minutes and featured 7 games, why then did we only see 3/4 of the games for about 2 mins each and have to endure the drivel of Pat Nevin and his 'expertise', do I care about a chance that Dundee Utd put wide and have to watch it four times during the highlights then another three during his rambling, no not really. BBC take a look at yourself, how can a company that produces MOTD so well, yes your English counterpart, produce such drivel, start taking a look at yourself. Each game could easily have been on for ten minutes each no matter who it was that was playing and the quality, each team have their fan base that want to see their team as much as others do so treat them fairly and equally. I also blame those that run our game, they give out the contracts to tv companies so are in the position to dictate what coverage is shown and for how long it is broadcast, take a look at it and sort it.

  7. Highland League days were nearly 17 years ago which means pretty much anyone under the age of 25 has no recollection of those times and certainly not of the rivalry. Elgin have been an irrelevance to us since 1994 and that was reflected yesterday. I wonder how many of the ICT fans there yesterday were ever regulars at Telford Street or Kingsmills? Not opening a merger fans argument, just trying to illustrate how far the club and the support has moved on since the Highland League days. Not sure what the attendance for a County game would have been, I'd like to think significantly higher, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been a sell out either.

  8. Elgin fans showed us up,came in numbers, outsang us whole game, pathetic support Jealous of their support reminded me of a good old scottish cup game from back in the Highland League days, sadly our support doesnt provide days like that anymore

  9. Wasn't having a pop....just making the point that you have your reasons which are personal to you and, as you rightly stated, are nobody else's business....many others will be the same. I don't like the whole subject of questioning fan loyalty or judging how big a fan they are for whatever reason....be it individuals or large portions of the fan base. It's also a tad hypocritical to be questioning others when you haven't been able to attend yourself (for whatever reasons). I don't think people realise they are doing it some times and I doubt it's a unique phenomenon of our support, but any time we have a low crowd people are quick to turn on each other.....even more bizarre when some of those not in attendance are questioning why others not in attendance didn't show. (Not a specific go at you SMEE, more a general observation) For what it's worth, I never made the game either.

  10. Funny enough I happen to know the vast majority of the away end were similar to the county inbreds, glory hunting.. I was said by two or three real fans that if the had that turnout at home games including away support they'd be happy and that the ground would.be in better nick.... part timers.

  11. Sorry but we are a club with a lot of families who attend game with younger children. It was a bitterly cold afternoon at home on a run of 3 losses in a row with are home form it was seen as quite possible for elgin beat us and as many travel from outside inverness the trip in didn't appeal. Elgin fans were there in numbers cause it was a massive game for them for us it was just a cup game v elgin city in the lowly 3rd divisions not appealing yes good value ?5 or ?10 however people are short on money these days and lets be honest was never going to be a classic.

  12. This might sound disrespectful, but all things considered, an SPL team should be beating any third Div team comfortably at home.

  13. Fishing he maybe, but he might have a point regarding the poor turnout from the home support. I noticed lots of ST holders in the main stand were awol. It was their loss - I thoroughly enjoyed this game - plenty of good performances - two good goals, lots of near misses, Elgin made a decent fist of it with what they had at their disposal, and nearly succeeded in taking it to a replay. Keeper Donnelly was superb. Even the half-time pies were good - hot and tasty, and there is no better omen in football than that! The stay-away fans were the losers yesterday.

  16. Obvious from 15 minutes in that there was only going to be one winner in this. It's difficult to play that "killer" pass when a highly motivated opposition sit in banks of four and look to break. It is, after all, exactly what we base our away games on. We do cry out for a creative midfielder, and IMHO sanchez did more in his 15 minutes or so than eric did in the preceding 75. Just shows what Rooney does when he gets service. It might not work every time, but it did today. Elgin defended superbly and their goalie had one immense ryanesque save from sutherland late on - well done to them, and an absolute hats off to their support. Lots of moans today that we should have won this earlier and easier, but TBH that smacks of arrogance, especially when you consider Hibs, St Mirren and the arabs. Next round, nae replay, job done.Jay 7 what planet are you on?

  17. I think I could have kissed Dani Boi :love03: was relieved to see him scoring and I agree with Butcher saying that Sanchez was like a new signing would love to see him playing a lot more as he changed the play I would also like to see a lot more from Sutherland as well!

  18. Craigy, you have used the term "honest mistakes" in your thread title and then in your post imply that the referee yesterday gave the penalty to Rangers because he's a Rangers fan and wants to see then in the Champion's league! How on earth do you expect anybody to take you seriously? How about using your own forum to suggest your obnoxious manager treats referees with a bit more respect instead of coming on here to have a dig at Rangers.

  19. This game yesterday was being built up on here like it was going to be similar to some of the great football derbies on the planet!!!!! What a complete and utter damp squib it turned out to be, there is seriously something wrong when the away fans outnumber and outsing the home support To be fair to the Elgin fans they generated a good atmosphere and if it wasn't for them the game would have passed by like a training exercise Only ?10 to get in yet ICT cannot muster 1500 fans WTF? Don't think sitting in the main stand that i have ever seen the North Stand so empty and so quiet Spoke to some older Elgin fans in the pub after the game and they couldn't believe how poor an atmosphere there was and how there was so few ICT fans, i must admit i had to agree with them sadly They sang at the game what a sh***y home support and SPL yer having a laugh and they were completely justified on yesterdays debacle Things can only get better i suppose so onwards and upwards lets hope we get an away tie in the netx round dougal

  20. I think if everybody is being completely honest with themselves here, we can all agree that Elgin did not deserve a replay. If we are a poor team, but had twenty one shots and two goals in our favour, how bad must Elgin be? Also, classics such has "SPL, your having a laugh" or "Stand up if you hate Caley" is hardly putting our support to shame. If you've got nothing worth signing about, then don't sing. They were all drunk because this was the game of their lives. Did everyone hear the massive creaking sound whenever Foran got the ball? That was the sound of 1000 elgin fans getting hard ons and wide ons because he is the most famous player they will ever see. ICT fans just have a different level of thinking about us. Elgin city, who cares? Celtic only won by two goals as well, and had no where near the amount of possession and shots that we had. The gulf in finances between Celtic and Berwick is a lot bigger than the gap between ourselves and Elgin.

  21. ?10 for adults yesterday & ?5 for juveniles against an old local rival. I was ashamed to be Inverness at the game yesterday. Our home support is an embarrassment to be honest. Maybe the singing sections should go ahead ASAP, as we are a laughing stock, and if Elgin had came away with the win yesterday,. it would have been well merited. They were the one's who had the 12thman, not us... A poor show all round.

  23. After that performance yesterday it was maybe a blessing that the BBC never showed too much of the low lights To scrape through literally against a mediocre third division/highland league outfit is highly embarrassing Its time Butcher & Malpas started to address the pathetic home form situation or home fans will stay away just like they chose to do yesterday dougal

  24. Every Howden Ender you contacted told you to Feck Off didn't they I know if my beloved Nottingham Forest merged with Notts County you wouldn't have seen me for dust You only have to look at the club crest to question the integrity of the merger, when would you ever see an Eagle landing on a thistle??? Not only would the Eagle be too heavy it would have more sense as it knows it would hurt its feet dougal

  25. As i said in the match thread I'm a Celtic fan, i thought that this would be relevant with yet another honest mistake in Rangers favour yesterday. I know most fans outside of the old firm think that the old firm always get all the decisions but i cant really think of any dodgy decisions that Celtic have benefited from over the last three seasons, now i know that they probably have benefited from some somewhere along the line but i wouldn't have noticed them as im biased in favour of Celtic however i strongly doubt that they or any other club in Scotland have benefited from anywhere near the same amount of blatantly wrong decisions as Rangers have at a time when it has been essential for Rangers very existence that they make the champions league. Now put yourself in the refs shoes, if you supported Rangers and you knew if they didn't get into the champions league they could go bankrupt would you be able to turn down a penalty claim from Rangers or would you find yourself looking for reasons to give them penalties or to chop of goals for the other team? Another thing is aren't refs supposed to be marked down for poor performances and be demoted if they keep performing badly? How then was Dougie Mcdonald allowed to keep on making mistakes in Rangers favour without being demoted? Could people please click on the following link, read the article then post your views on the subject http://top50honestmistakes.blogspot.com/
