  1. Can't understand all the Tade bashing going on. He's a potential rough diamond, with a bit of hard work and refinement he could prove to be a very good signing. He gives everything for the team and his endeavour alone makes him a good guy in my book. And another thing. I'm hearing a lot moaning about his scoring record, well actually if he continues scoring at the current rate he'll end up with 13 league goals from 38 games. Only a handful of players scored more than that in the SPL last season and a certain Mr Rooney finished on 15 from 38 and I seem to remember him taking 3/4 chances to get a goal. A little persepctive wouldn't go amiss.

  2. I can only think that those who deemed todays win as "lucky" were not there to witness it for themselves. For all those knocking our conversion rate....take a look around at Attempts v Goal ratios for other teams. ICT today had 9 attempts and scored 2...Rangers had 16 and scored 1...Man U had 17 and score 2 against Norwich who had 13 and scored none. Thought todays game was thoroughly entertaining and I can certainly see why St Mirren have been doing so well as they play a nice passing game....but we contained that and limited them to 4 attempts at goal. What's more...for the vast majority of the game only one team ever looked like they were going to score, and it wasn't St Mirren. Make no mistake, todays victory was not some fluke result against poorly performing opponents...it was a hard earned and thoroughly deserved win for the better team. Not saying it was a perfect performance, but it was a winning performance and it does a dis-service to the players who secured the points to suggest otherwise.

  3. What we have to bear in mind is that if Tade possessed natural finishing ability, over and above the good attributes he already has, he'd be playing at a much higher level than ICT.

  4. Ahh, Tade in a nutshell - he missed three one-on-ones and then scores when the ball rebounds in off his shin. The flipside is that he spent most of the match playing wide right and put in yet another outstanding shift. A deserved win, I think, as we missed lots of good chances...Foran's scuff in the opening seconds was an astonishing miss, while Andy Shinnie hit the post early in the second half. Ryan Esson made one good save in the second half but actually had a relatively quiet time of it. Proctor did better than I expected; I thought the standouts for us today were Tokely and Piermayr. Davis was superb first half but drifted out of it. Thought Foran was disappointing, and Nick Ross never got in the game. Not bad considering we are still missing some important players - I think Hogg, Hayes and Jones will still walk straight back into that team.

  6. Aye - a very positive perspective but not as "real" as RIG's . I feel that the large majority of punters - irresepective of attendance or not - are proclaiming that we were fortunate at the close to have gained the three points because of a practically inherent failure to score goals and/or to take chances. At the end of the day it is a very valuable three points and I am sure that all of us would have taken that outcome at the start. But to me it is as much about entertainment, performance and ma old adage of the "togetherness" factor. It sounds as if those constituents were more prevalent yesterday and that is the biggest positive from my perspective. We scored more than they did...that's what won the game. The missed opportunities count for nothing if you have more goals when the final whistle blows. The performance was there, the entertainment was there and the "togetherness" has never been lacking this season, IMO, so I fail to see what point you are trying to make in that regard. Had we only a couple of shots and scored and had St Mirren been peppering our goal and not scoring then I might buy into the "having lady luck on our side" argument...but that wasn't the case. There's no sense of complacency with me. Like everyone else I have my opinions on team selection and tactics, I just don't see the point in trying to hammer team and/or manager with them off the back of a win. Whether or not I agreed with the selection/tactics yesterday counts for nothing. The team and tactics used won the game, and deservedly so, whether another team selection or set of tactics might have resulted in a higher win margin is neither here nor there. I did consider your view. However, given the fact that you are hypothesising on matters you didn't witness for yourself and trying to undermine or ridicule the views of those who were there, then your view/opinion on anything other than the result count for little and certainly don't move to make me think twice about my view/opinion on the match. You can stick that in whatever pigeon hole takes your fancy

  7. Like some other posters, I really fail to see why there is so much unrelenting negativity against some of the players. Sure Tade had 3 bad misses yesyerday, and on another day this could have come back to haunt us but id didn't. What some people have to remember is that to score goals, you have to be in the correct positions and make the correct runs. Tade is doin this brilliantly but his finishing is letting him down and needs to get worked on pronto. Disappointing to see some of the commenst from some posters who just listened to the game on the radio yesterday. This was possibly out best home performance to date and some really good football was played in all areas yesterday. St. Mirren were supposedly the form team going into yesterdays game and supposedly playing a really attractive type of football. Well yesterday, there was onlt one team playing exciting football and it wasn't St. Mirren. If the score had been 5-1 yesterday, it would not have been an injustice and the same could have been said for the Hearts match. I don't think I have seen the team create so many chances as they have done this season and someone is going to be on the end of a good thrashing from us very soon. Finally, a word about Andrew Shinnie yesterday. I admit to not being terribly impressed in previous games I have seen him play but yesterday he was tremendous and showed a great deal of skill in both linking play and getting forward. Yet after the Dundee Utd game, he was getting real abuse from fans over his performance. All this tells me is that some fans need to take a look at themselves before resorting to shouting abuse at our players and appreciate how difficult it can be to plat football at time. It is a team game and the singling out of individuals at times, by sections of our support, is dreadful ans so counter productive.

  8. An ejoyable game and 3 points, what more can you ask for. At half time the stadium announcer gave a shout out to 2 fans who had traveled up from Southampton, they were sitting in front of us and we got chatting, they summed us up very well "you do make life hard for yourself" too true! Good luck to them running the Loch Ness marathon today.

  9. according to bbc sport we had 68% of possession ive always wondered how they work that out today, was the first time this season when i havnt been able to say that we were bad in certain aspects it was a team effort tade had a few 1 on 1's missed and was getting knocked for missing them but i dont think rooney would of even got to the balls played through for tade he is a workhorse rooney is a finisher at the end of the day tades following the ball in and never say die attitude won us the game as for andy shinnie hes starting to look a good signing a few time this season he has got in the box supported the strikers well but hasnt had an end product but today it all came together for him and i can see him pushing on from here a goal and an assist it doesnt come much better all in all great 3 points today good game to watch and we can push on

  10. I think the last time I saw Proc start a game was the 4-0 demolition of united at tannadice. Maybe start him more often?

  11. Thought Proctor was faultless today tbh

  12. He probably saw the guide price of out and out strikers who can put the ball in the back of the net! For the budget the gaffer is working with I still think Tad? is an excellent signing. He works hard, has great stamina and never gives up. I really like seeing that in an ictfc player. I know a couple of raith season ticket holders - they're both missing having Tad? in their side massively.

  13. I just find it very sad that, after our very poor performances, and even after we win, some folk have to find fault. We won. We've gone three straight games at home without defeat. Even if, after all that you feel some things aren't right at least try and let it by you and give praise. Positivity makes players feel good and helps them play better. Negativity makes them nervous.

  14. Errr...they already have four between them, so I think it's a pretty good bet they will get at least that half dozen.

  15. Forans miss was worse than all of Tade's put together, it was easier to score!. Gotta love Tade though, he gives absolutely everything and despite the misses today he popped up with the winner so that'll do nicely thanks. If Butcher is reading this though, please just have him training one on one with the keepers for the rest of the season because if he starts taking just half the chances he gets he'll score 20 plus. Andrew Shinnie, who I haven't taken to yet really, had his best game yet and fully deserved man of match award. All in it's reinvigorated my belief that we can have a successful season but id like to see Mackay or Sutherland playing alongside big Tade.

  18. Tel and Mo are aware. Our most natural captain at the back line is injured ( Hogg ), weve used just about everyone else in the back line. Our defensive midfield is out injured ( Cox and Jones ), Our wide midfielders who should stop opponents wing backs from getting forward ( Hayes and Doran ) are out, which also reduces our attacking threat from midfield reducing scoring opportunities and assists. Come on, take out 6 or 7 probable starters from most teams and they will be effected. Certainly the likes of Killie, both Saints, Hibs, Hearts, Arabs, Dons, Motherwell and Dunfermline wouldn't do as well, and Rangers proved against Falkirk they cant do without a few either. Look at the Englandshire league and you see the same happen in the league cup when the EPL clubs leave out several over paid stars, and then struggle or go out against lower league clubs. Toks is still the heart of our club, and is far from " finished". Playing with a different partnership will not help anyone at the moment but what can they do with so many injuries. And if you look at their background, Kenny has been in the UK for years, as has Golobart, should think they know English by now, especially what they need to know. Piermayr being Austrian will likely have a good level of English, as European countries do emphasize the learning of other languages, unlike our good old UK with our totally inward way of thinking.

  19. At Raith Rovers Tad? had the same issue when 1 on 1. I believe will come good as the team gels better and first choice players return but possibly later rather than sooner. Refreshing - Pragmatic optimism mixed with realism Except there's no difference between fortunate and lucky. Maybe you had to be there , but being fortunate missed chances didn't cost us doesn't mean the win was lucky!. Suggest you don't overanalyse things ;) DOH again - I never said it was lucky - I said that we were fortunate and Lady Luck was with us. But thank you for your concern I hate the boo boys. Wish they would all do one. WHOLLY CONCUR but they should be allowed to argue their point after the game Our biggest problem is Foran wearing number 9. A nice guy, well motivated, but SO far away from being a goal scoring centre forward it's unbelievable. And he's no spring chicken so it's ridiculous to think he might suddenly improve. Sadly he has great belief in himself and in Butcher's eyes he can do no wrong. Yesterday we WERE lucky because, in the SPL, if you can't take a good proportion of your chances you usually lose. Wow - an inbetweener - suspect it is the frustrated would be optimist = but too personal in many ways although the content is understandable if not debatable - and ends with a fairly good rationale as well foran is a great target man though superb in the air and chips in with the assists despite not scoring every other week i reckon hes still a valuable member of the team and a great captain Well defended young man even if the latter part of the sentence contadicts the opening statement - great to see the yoof being protective of would be "legends" Don't agree about the luck. There was no luck involved, we thrashed them end of story, in fact St Mirren fans believe they were lucky not to be on a hiding. Apologies as I was led to believe that the winning goal had a degree of luck attached to it. And I never realised that a 2-1 win could be graded as a thrashing. And if the Midden fans felt that they were lucky not to be on the receiving end of a hiding why didnt it actually happen ?

  21. And what evidence is this based on!!. We are having a hard enough time scoring goals as it is and you want to put a centre back up front. Where is the darkened room as I need to lie down.

  22. started well and took the game to them until they scored with their first real chance. foran miss was pathetic have said on here before i dont think tade and foran will score a 1/2 doz goals between them in spl this season. shinnie equaliser was from a superb knock down from foran though. tade runs himself ragged , chases down players but his first touch is woeful. his first 1-1 with keeper he did well to get past the very slow lee mair. any striker with even a small football brain would have shot across keeper. if he beats the keeper he scores if keeper saves, ball may come back for onrushing others. tades passes ball into side netting at near post. 2nd 1-1 he takes a terrible first touch when through which takes him to left and the same scenario as 1st 1-1. his angle on goal is greatly reduced. goes in on keeper when a shot across again is required. shut down by keeper too easily 3rd 1-1 it looked easier to score just curl it in to net. may have hit it out for throw in. didnt celebrate his goal very much, think he was totally embarrased ball back of post hit him, he did not hit ball. enough chances to win this game comfortably. as agaainst hearts but if you cant takes your chances it can come to a last minute equaliser, got lucky today that their second was flagged for offside. 1 point from game would have been a travesty. one more gripe, why cant we shut down a game when winning with a couple of mins to go. g shinnie had ball near half way line, just pass ball towards corner flag and chase. tries a killer pass which was straight to their player, they go on the attack. also esson on 2 occassions with seconds to go kicks ball from goal down middle of park, goes straight to their keeper who punts up field and we are under pressure again. kick to corners, run down clock, simples thought a shinnie was very good today, the boy is a footballer. super finish for goal, hate to think what tade or foran would have done with it. probably smashed someones windscreen in carpark

  23. Like some other posters, I really fail to see why there is so much unrelenting negativity against some of the players. Sure Tade had 3 bad misses yesyerday, and on another day this could have come back to haunt us but id didn't. a good example of a blinding loyal and displaying the view that we were fortunate - as on another day.... What some people have to remember is that to score goals, you have to be in the correct positions and make the correct runs. Tade is doin this brilliantly but his finishing is letting him down and needs to get worked on pronto. DOH i would have thought that the art of finishing was the main skill required of a goalscorer - many would say a natural skill I the score had been 5-1 yesterday, it would not have been an injustice and the same could have been said for the Hearts match. If is a strange word is it not ? But it wasnt 5-1 and that was because ? Finally, a word about Andrew Shinnie yesterday. I admit to not being terribly impressed in previous games I have seen him play but yesterday he was tremendous and showed a great deal of skill in both linking play and getting forward. mmmmmmmmmmmm - better - more pragmatic All this tells me is that some fans need to take a look at themselves before resorting to shouting abuse at our players and appreciate how difficult it can be to plat football at time. It is a team game and the singling out of individuals at times, by sections of our support, is dreadful ans so counter productive. a fine example of both the doom merchants and the concentrate only on the negatives factions Anyone at the game would probably agree we were not fortunate to win, it was fully deserved. It could though be argued we were fortunate that our misses didn't cost us the win, but it still doesn't make it a lucky win in my book. there is a subtle difference between fortunate and lucky and I am afraid as a forever optimist you have fallen in to the contradicting yourself characteristic - we were not fortunate to win / we were fortunate - suggest that you try and be more relective If Tad? can hit the target and score the goal to win games I'll be very happy. I reckon Andrew Shinnie will be a very good player for us and we still have Billy McKay to come in to the side. Just be thankful we're not Dunfermline - relying on barrowman for goals closest thing to a pragmatist yet - with a fine example of jocular sarcasm as well - go to the top of the class

    • Aaron Doran - Club Legend
Shameful: Thanks to Shane Sutherland, the generosity of friends, fans, former colleagues and opponents, Aaron has now had his operation. However it has emerged that he had posted on Instagram regarding his sad dismissal and treatment from the Board of Inverness CT who have treated Aaron in a similar way to which they have been treating the fans. Let's not forget that Aaron was due to have a testimonial for his service to the club.

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
