A bit unfair imo Absent Friend. Ok we werent great up till we were 2-0 down but the defence pulled themselves together after this and worked really hard as did Ryan Esson. Highlights dont show everything. Personally I think Warren is coming on nicely. He seems a leader on the park and is starting to build a partnership with Meekings whom I also rate. This team is starting to gel and if you had been there on saturday you would have seen team spirit in action! A win is not far away I am sure of it.4 points

ooooft Theres no pleasing some folk. It was your mate Johan Meekings who lifted his leg. Great judgement to leave it so close. By your own admission you only saw the highlights and as ocg said that does not give the full picture........ you, my friend, were absent. A well deserved point in my opinion and could even have been all three. Chin up mun.3 points

Looking at the table, only the league leaders have scored more than us. The bad news of course is on goals conceded, where in just 7 games we have let in 6 more than anyone else. Ouch. 11 months ago I started a thread pointing out that at that stage, our average goals conceded of 2.0 per game was worse than that of the relegated team in 9 of the previous 11 seasons (see below). 2000/01 - 1.89 - St Mirren 2001/02 - 1.63 - St Johnstone 2002/03 - 1.87 - Motherwell 2003/04 - 1.76 - Partick 2004/05 - 1.87 - Dundee 2005/06 - 2.07 - Livingston 2006/07 - 1.45 - Dunfermline 2007/08 - 2.18 - Gretna 2008/09 - 1.53 - ICT 2009/10 - 1.50 - Falkirk 2010/11 - 1.55 - Hamilton 2011/12 - 2.16 - Dunfermline Back then most of us thought our defence was really poor. Well this season we are up at 2.29, with the Celtic and Motherwell thrashings obviously having an impact. I'm not concerned about it. And I'm not going to mention the northbound departures of **** ****** and ***** *****. It's very early days, and last season we tightened up considerably as the season went on, and I'm sure we will again as the defensive line-up settles down, injuries are overcome, and they finally get to gel at the back. It's also a consequence of the radical overhaul in the style of play this season, which is leading to more goals at both ends. I like it this way. The game is all about goals, and we now know that a game ain't over if we give the opposition a 2 goal head start. And I'm very pleasantly surprised that we are scoring so many without having replaced our top scorers from last season. There will always be criticism of a defence that concedes more than we'd expect, but at least nobody can complain about the lack of entertainment in our season so far.2 points

Got to wonder what the SPL hope to gain by continuing to pursue this and paying out the vast sums of money these people will be commanding for their services. We're not arguing a point of law, they won't be able to enforce any fines and stripping titles means what exactly??? Would be far better if they put the money, time and other resources into sorting out the mess Scottish Football is in instead of trying to save a bit of face from the disaster that occurred because they were operating a system which allowed such things to happen in the first place. Nobody came out of the summer fiasco looking good and the more they drag it out the more damage that will be done and everyone will just look even worse. Time to draw the line and move on with stuff that matters instead of further lining the pockets of solicitors etc.1 point

Would certainly make a difference to our 'travelling' support..........I think Romany Rovers has a nice ring to it.1 point

I think a few people here are underestimating our opposition. Brislen-Hall has never played a first team match and Roberts has played twenty minutes or so, on Saturday. To suggest that they will be able to stroll into the first team against guys who have years of experience in senior football and win. Stenhousemuir beat Kilmarnock away in the last round and will fancy their chances. Butcher started with our full team against Arbroath, another Second Division side, in the last round I'd like to think he'll do so again.1 point

I'll just take this opportunity for a plug. If you are away from a radio or prefer another means of following events, the BBC online, including text, service has been upgraded this season in Scotland with a view to providing more information. This comes in the form of how the game is going and bits of colour from matches. All match reporters - Open All Mics and in particular the TV reporter - have a remit to feed into the text service and there is also a brief match report placed online.1 point

Nah, the Tulloch Global Tore Stadium. We would have to alter the name as neither would be happy if their name was not first. Highand Alba Caledonian and Ross Thistle FC ( HACART FC ) Combining the best of both clubs, So county's defence, and our Mid field and Stikers ( cause it wouldnt be wise the other way round) Following the example of several Danish teams who have amalgamated, who now strut their stuff in Europe. Nordsjealand a prime example in the Champions league this season.1 point

What a great thread! I have it on good authority that Derek Riordan wanted to sign for ICT and would only sign for County if there was a merged County ICT team. Further more, after recent discussions with Staggy4life, MacAngus and a clothes shop enthusiast from Easter Ross, the fans are desperate for a merger. Something to do with being cold and shadows.1 point

I heard the Staggies were going to merge with a French club, it was something to do with making one of their chants more apt. ' Hello Hello, we are the County Nancy boys '1 point

The next big debate - surely it should be Inverness and Ross Caledonian Thistle County FC. And the new stadium must be at Muir of Ord, a ground we've always done well at. I feel another book from Mr Bannerman coming on.1 point

Sounds like a great idea to me, i can't see what the problem is. We've all seen how well the club(s) has/have progressed since the last merger, i think the next one is long overdue. Ross and Inverness Caledonian Thistle County FC, i can't wait to start supporting them. Obviously we would need to find a new venue to play our home games at to avoid any more unnecessary animosity between County and Inverness fans, maybe Clach Park?1 point
