  1. Mikey's funeral today was an extremely good expression of how his family, his many friends and also his ICT friends, really held him in high regard. The Humanist service was a true reflection of Mikey's life and Toni (from La Taverna in Aviemore) spoke so well and moved most of us to tears (but there was laughter too, anecdotes aplenty). Great to see so many ICT colours on show and also a white and blue football shaped wreath on his coffin. I am sure there would have been more stories told about Mikey in the Caley Club afterwards. An amazing day and a fitting farewell to Mikey.

  4. What about all the people (particularly women) who haven't been battered due to having no Old Firm matches, which are renowned for huge spikes in violence? Is this question Rhetorical ? Do you really expect me to answer it, Or are you just showing your own views ? How am I supposed to know about violence to women, children or anybody else. I suggest you contact Glasgow home for battered wives or the Police. Lawrence, if you wonder why the "lynch mob" sometimes have a pop at you, this illustrates the reasons perfectly. You put a post on here and whilst you acknowledge it is not a popular view you provide no evidence to justify it. Then when someone responds with a valid reason why they think you are wrong and suggests you consider that point, you come sniping back with a "do you really expect me to answer it?" Well actually, I do. Renegade has provided evidence for his statement relating to a situation which is actually pretty well known. It is evidence which suggests that the longer the new club with the same old moronic support is kept away from the top flight of scottish football, the better it will be for the women of Glasgow. Of course you are entitled to air your views but please have the good grace to give some reasoned argument to support what you recognise to be an unpopular view. As I said before, whether some of us like it or not, the Rangers will be in the top division all too soon. It may not be as quick as you would like but it is arguably a lot quicker than it should have been. And it is not the wider footballing community which is keeping them out - they are being kept out because of the way they went about their business. They are lucky their assets were not split up and sold off to different parties. The new club has acquired a fully functioning infrastructure for way below market price whilst creditors of the old disgraced club are left with next to nothing. The Rangers are lucky to be in Division 2. To suggest the footballing community should somehow connive to bend the rules to allow them into the top flight at the expense of clubs who play by the rules is not only nonsense, it is offensive nonsense. I would respectfully suggest you either come up with some sound arguments to support your bizarre suggestion or withdraw it.

  5. You need to look up what a troll is. Dougal has a habit of posting his opinion, which he is entitled to do so of course, but when challenged on his often far fetched viewpoints he is seldom able to back them up with any shred of evidence whatsoever. I'm still waiting on him telling us why a stadium with only three stands isn't suitable for top flight football in Scotland - Maybe once he's finished gathering the numbers that show everyone that Ross County have sold more season tickets than ICT for two seasons in a row,as he claims, he can get cracking on the stadium issue. I'm not holding my breath though given his general inability to back up any sweeping statement he tries to pass off as a fact.

  6. I know the plural of stadium is not "stadiums" but I couldn't be bothered to change it. Before the "correct" brigade sort me out. It would have been quicker to sort it out than post again explaining why you couldn't be bothered!

  7. Interestingly too, the Rangers seem to be on a one-way trip to administration.

  10. I think the club could be smarter in analysing their data, so who hasn't renewed is any ones guess. Over the years I have paid for an adult relations ST on top of my own and I never get any literature from the club, a few years ago we moved seats, and my relation gets a letter more or less saying that she hasn't renewed and reminding her to do so, yet I wasn't contacted to renew, so the fact that we moved seats wasn't picked up. I later find out that my relation was listed as the main person for our 2 seats this was to save on multiple renewal letters being sent out, which is perfectly understandable if you all live at the same address/ same surnames/ have a family season ticket etc, yet we have different addresses, different surnames and are both adults. So I nominate myself as the main person as I buy both tickets instead. Recently my relation gets a letter saying that she hasn't renewed her ST yet she is in the same seat again this season and the seat was paid for by the same person (me) as last year and the years before. The club pulled out data in the recent letter and mentioned that she was at the County match ( county tickets bought from ICT) yet they haven't processed any of the above. I have come to realise that the club think that they are losing fans when they haven't whats also very important is that going by the above, if the club hone in on the responsible person in a group, for example an adult and a group of teenage children, do the children get lost in the system and forgotten if they don't go to games any more and only the adult is targeted. I would suggest keeping in contact with ALL full paying fans.(unless requested not to do so) Keeping tabs on all fans and even if a 10 year old doesn't come back send a thank you letter for their support and encourage them to come back. If someone moves seats log it. (they haven't left they have moved) But 10 out of 10 for adding the County match to the Richie Foran renewal letter that wasn't required,

  12. Aye, we should just let the phoenix entity of a vile club that went bust into the top tier just because they're based in a (very debatably!) "great city" . What utter nonsense, clearly posted by someone who's never sat in the away end at Ibrox while these union jack clad morons have chucked 10 pence pieces at you because they're so irate about the result! Scottish football and Scottish society would be a heck of a lot better without them.

  13. I doubt the people of Paisley would thank you for saying they are part of Glasgow. My point is that not having the Rangers in the top tier is positive in many ways. There may or not be financial arguments for them being in the SPL but IMHO there are far more footballing arguments for them not to be. They will be in the top flight all too soon because at the end of the day, their financial backers and huge support will buy success. But in the meantime, lets enjoy the breath of fresh air that pervades the top flight at the moment and enjoy the improved opportunities that smaller clubs such as ITC and St Johnstone have of earning a bit of success. And let's enjoy the fact that the big Glasgow derbies this year will involve Partick and not the Rangers.

  14. Glasgow have 2 teams in the premier division - no need for a 3rd.

  15. I think that poor Dougals reputation has blinded some to the positivity of his post. IMHO County are better at recruiting than us as they appear to "advertise" more outside of their catchment area as the Hellgin based ICT fan pointed out. We always appear to concentrate our efforts on the populated area of the city. I agree with Dougal that TB and the team can really have not done much more last season and the general "planning" has been considerably improved this season. I also feel that the recruitment drive has been much improved but perhaps a wee drive at advertising in local rags across the North would be an idea albeit yet another financial extra. County also appear to have more localised travel "clubs" where small numbers travel together and another "drive" - forgive the pun - would be to try and bring those numbers together and encourage sharing costs to travel to Sneck and beyond. Again CJT could be aiding such iniatives but not owning them. Good post fer once Dougal.

  16. Another article in today's P&J from Terry saying what else can they do to improve attendances. Goes along with most of the posts on this topic above. But here's a thing... I'm a season ticket holder living in Elgin, come through with the Bairns to all home games. However, I have never once seen ICT promoting themselves in the local papers in Moray! ICT are our local Premiership team, only 30 odd miles away, but it would appear that any promotion of the club / season tickets is confined to the Inverness area. There's a large population as far as Buckie that have ICT as their nearest 'big' team, but nothing is being done to encourage people to come to a game, let alone buy season tickets. I am not sure what all the club does as far as promotion goes in the Inverness area, but they need to think slightly bigger. I see more County tops around Elgin than Caley ones - and it pains me!!!

  17. I understand the clubs response to the calls for a minutes silence. However feel mikey is one of the rare fans who perhaps can be meritted this honour. Alternatively, us as fans can show our respect to mikey by chanting 'one mikey diamond' (as ive seen suggested elsewhere) as the teams enter the field of play. Perhaps also during or even after the game also. Rest peacefully mikey. You shall be missed

  18. Had Salmond been sitting in front and to the side of Cameron, and had waved the Scottish flag when Murray had won - would this be in the news as much, no chance. It may have been a bit daft of Salmond as he would have known the cameras would be on him and Cameron but regardless of that, why can't he wave a Scottish flag in support of a Scottish sportsman? As my dad has already said, if he was sitting in amongst the paying fans, we wouldn't be talking about it now.

  20. All the same.... just don't take the bait!!!! With all due respect I look at our stadium as a fan whereas you look at is a freeloader Let's face it wouldn't matter one hoot how many stands it has in your mind, just as long as you have a comfy press room with access to free hospitality with all your cronies Poor man's Frank Gilfeather in my opinion Dougal
