  1. A late entrant into biggest CTO meltdown of 2014 but you've made a strong bid for the title.

  2. Im sorry but talk about an over reaction! This is our first home defeat this season and its a tad optomistic that we wont ever get beat ever! We are still second in the league and to push the panic button already is a tad premature imho. Bad days happen. Theyve happened under previous management and Im sure they will continue to happen occasionally. Seems some of us have seriously become big time Charlies. Sorry if this is not what the op meant or intended to portray but all teams in this league are beatable or capable of beating each other including Celtic and Partick Thistle.

  3. Where has anyone said they are panicking? It's a reasonable O/P. I get where he is coming from and see all the points of view. Without labelling anyone, I see trends here and can probably guess the posts without reading it once I know who has posted. It's all getting a bit tedious this divide.

  4. Total overreaction to the 2 boys on the pitch. Yes it was totally unacceptable and some sort of punishment is needed but ban them for life?? Slightly over the top, even some convicted hooligans aren't banned for life. The game. To be fair it was a fairly even 1st half, Partick took their chances and we didn't. The second half however the players should be embarrassed with themselves. After the 4th goal they just gave up and some of them didn't look like they were trying. It could have been a lot more than 4. Hopefully just a blip and we don't get bogged down at this time of year for the 3rd season in a row.

  5. Codswallop. If, as the OP states, losing to sides we feel we should be beating was a frequent occurrence we wouldn't be 2nd in the league. He then goes on to try and make a direct correlation between the result on Saturday and the expected performance in 10 matches time! Assertions that are inaccurate and illogical.....in fact, you could call them "knee jerk".

  6. Typical negative happy clapper knee jerk reaction to a question that deserves a reasoned answer. Fact is that of the 6 matches we have not won in the league this year 4 have been against teams currently in the bottom 6. In addition we went out of the league cup to a lower league side and were minutes from being knocked out of the Scottish Cup by the the team currently bottom of the premiership. So there is actually evidence that suggests supposedly weaker teams do relatively better against us. Asking why that might be is therefore not only a perfectly reasonable question, it is an important question. My own view is that the better teams rely on the strength of their quality to assert their style of play on the game. Lesser teams don't feel they can do that and feel the way to beat us us to stop us playing our game. Hence they press us hard high up the pitch and the tactic clearly worked very well for Partick at the weekend. When teams do that we find it hard to respond. It is a weakness which both County and Partick have exploited and we can expect others to do so as well. It's a weakness which needs to be addressed if we are to maintain a top 3 slot. Of course we all understand we are 2nd in the league and of course we are delighted about it. Of course we all appreciate the team is doing well - but if it was possible for the team to do even better than they currently are, would you not want that as well? I honestly think that with the squad of players at our disposal we can do even better than we are at the moment, but we will only do that if we can identify and address areas of relative weakness. The OP has identified an area of relative weakness and we should all be grateful to him for raising it..

  7. Haha, I love this story, by offering his resignation his salary increases back to its pre cut level it seems? So they have a manager who now is working 12 months notice because of their contract T&C's and lack of cash...................got to love this story :D http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30475395

  8. Yip, the players sat around before the game and thought lets loose 4-0, I think they showed at times they did their best to try score? So beating Celtic and loosing only 1-0 at Parkhead doesnt demonstrate professionalism that they can compete against the best, what about sitting 2nd in the league? As for the cup game, between now and then a lot can change at both clubs, players come and go, injuries - I for one still expect us to have a good chance of progress - to write the team off on one bad result is lunacy.

  9. To my mind the actions of the young lads is of far less concern than the unbelievable lack of action of the stewards. Had somebody come on the pitch and intended harm to one of the players they would have had all the time in the world. If this is the level of response the stewards provide when someone enters the field of play, the club should be demanding money back from the stewarding company because they are clearly not doing what they are paid to do.

  11. Perspective is required! Yes, it was a chastening defeat but we're in a great position. 16 games is effectively the half-way point in the 33 game 'regular' season and we've got 32 points. The season we finished 4th, we had 25 points at this stage. Last season when we ended 5th, we managed to beat the points tally that secured us 4th place, when our final total was 57. And 57 is a 'handy benchmark' as it's exactly 1.5 points-per-game. We're currently averaging exactly 2 points-per-game thanks to the spadework in the early part of the season - we mustn't let one result undermine that. Those 32 points we worked so hard for haven't gone away - we just didn't add to them yesterday! Corresponding stage after 16 games: 2004/05 13 2005/06 19 2006/07 20 2007/08 19 2008/09 17 2010/11 26 2011/12 12 2012/13 25 2013/14 32 2014/15 32

  12. I've said it before and I stand by it - I am more than happy to continue to fly under the radar and go into a lot of games as the underdog. I think we do better with less pressure on us. if we were to get talked up in the media so much then that might change.

    • Inverness CT 1-1 Alloa Athletic - League 1
Despite dominating the opening exchanges and Alfie Stewart arrowing in a sublime strike, the Caley Jags failed to capitalise on their early dominance and had to settle for a point in the end when Scott Taggart nicked a header/cross into the bottom corner early in the second half to earn the visitors their share of the spoils
