  1. Was at the game today looked like a starting line-up off: Hoban, Howarth, J Brown, Horner, C Brown, Polworth, Rennie, Baptie, Sutherland, Wilson, Ferguson Bench: Some random keeper never seen before think it's the U17 keeper, Macrae, Hull, Blackett First goal was a shot by the well player keeper caught it but spilled it due to the ball being wet i would say since the weather conditions were very mixed. We tried to play some football but every time one of our full-backs went forward we got caught out on the break, also the pitch looked awful and we struggled getting the passing game going. Their second goal came from the break where young keeper Hoban was caught in no-mans land when he first went out to close the angle but later retreated but by the time he had started to retreat the Motherwell player had already lobbed him. HT 0-2 Second half got off to a very bad start where they scored within the first 10 minutes from a very bad goal to concede and i think it was this one where Hoban went off on a rant to the players about their defending and if i am correct quite right cause they were very indecisive in getting rid of the ball (they should really tell them that sometimes hoofing it to row z is ok at times). We managed to score around an hour into the match from a very good link up play from Polworth, Ferguson and Sutherland which was finished off by Polworth (No.6), Motherwell saw off any sort of comeback 10 minutes later when a their player got easily past 2 off ours then a give and go of another player before he struck the ball home. The last 15/20 minutes saw us trying to get forward but it not materializing to anything. FT 1-4 Overall the pitch didn't help for the way we play and if i were hughes i would be looking at a plan B cause our passing game won't work on that pitch if it's still in the same condition on saturday, a few players did well like Jason Brown i thought had a very good game. One thing i found interesting was we had Lewis Horner at CB while also having Ryan Baptie on the left wing and then you had Ali Sutherland playing in a more of central midfield role today when in other games he has been on the wing or up front.
  2. No change to the bottom of the league in 28 years
  3. From BBC Gossip: Former Dundee United and Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Craig Brewster, who is Brighton Under-17 coach, is in the running, along with Manchester United academy chief Brian McClair, to be Scottish FA performance director. (The Sun) It would be astonishing if Brewster got that job, and the phrase "in the running" could simply mean he has applied for the position. But good luck to him!
  4. Just got back from watching Reading v Wigan. Truly one of the worst matches I've seen in years. Billy got on for the last 10 minutes, which coincided with Wigan's best spell of the match when they improved from poor to mediocre. Reading were dire all night. Billy was actually on the pitch for nearly 25 minutes as added time was announced as 11 minutes, but lasted nearly 15, due to a couple of injuries and a staggering amount of time wasting by Wigan. Billy actually played well, with lots of good touches, and his usual effort. He fired narrowly over the bar from a half chance in normal time, but right at the death of injury time he was right through and fired well over the bar from a good chance. His namesake, Malky, looked none too pleased at that. Had Billy slotted it, I think he would have secured a place in the starting line up next time. He may have done enough anyway. Time will tell. At least he has pocketed his first win bonus. There won't be many more of them this season, as surely no team can play as badly as Reading did tonight, and I would think Wigan will surely go down. Attendance of 14601. I must have been the 1. Fewer than 100 Wigan fans, making some of our ICT Away day crowds look positively gargantuan!
  5. Just gonna put this out there. And don't know if anyone else has suggested it but. Ched?

  8. Which individual player has scored the most goals AGAINST us and who has scored the most own goals ?
  9. A quick trawl through Soccerbase reveals, if I've addded up correctly, that Wyness got 9 v County, Stewart got 6. I also counted that Wyness got 5 hattricks overall for us, which I can't imagine anyone could have beaten.
  10. Derek Adam scored a few own goals with his pre and post match comments...

One amazing fact I read today is that of the 5 successful run chases of over 300 in the cricket world cup history, it has been Ireland that has achieved the target in 3 of those.

I rather like the quirks and inconsistencies of the English language....but not as much as I like macaroni pies.
  13. Matthew Lindsay a journalist with the evening times has called us the most attractive footballing team in the country by along way. What a season we have been having
  14. It says nothing about scottish managers and everything about an unsustainable money driven model of short termism in the EPL. It wlll swallow up and spit out managers regardless of their nationality.
