  1. How brilliant is that? Well done John. You've proved your doubters to be wrong. Now, the icing on the cake will be clinching 3rd spot in the league, and, of course, winning the Scottish Cup. You can do it.
  2. I am delighted for him. I am fortunate in that I get to speak to the big guy more than most fans and he's a gem. No matter the result, no matter how much he's been wound up he's an absolute pro. Will talk about the game - with a depth of insight that would surprise some, always talks up his players and has a real affinity for the club. Will never sulk, never avoid the issues and never act the prima donna. He can be devastatingly honest at times (and not always for his own good) but his knowledge of people and how to get the best out of them is second to none. His predecessor was always praised for motivating people but if anything, Yogi is better. There's also the fact that he's a genuinely good bloke. When he was appointed, I remember being taken aback at how enthusiastic Kenny Cameron was about his appointment. There really was no other person who came close to surpassing Yogi. Wasn't wrong there then! Well done.
  3. Congratulations Yogi. Have to admit I had reservations early on, but he's walked the walk.
  4. Chance to give Devine some game time and move Josh over to RB. Esson Meekings. Warren. Devine. Shinnie Draper. Tansey Watkins. Christie. Williams Ofere
  5. Had you been at the game today you'd have seen that we lacked an attacking, direct threat big time. Draper should also get his place back. Time to go back to two out and out wingers and bring Christie back in I reckon. Esson Shinnie Warren Meekings Tremarco Draper Tansey-----Christie Doran-----------------------Watkins Ofere Subs - Mackay, Devine, Williams, Ross, Vincent, Polworth, Kink
  6. Just seen on Twitter that Yogi has won the manager of the year award well done Yogi it is fully deserved

But we are talking about a 34 year old woman with three young children - Shocking and so sad. Bill Shankly was a great man but he got one notion sadly wrong.
  8. The season is far from over fer fecks sake. I hate these awards being announced prematurely. I will only ejaculate and congratulate after 30/05/15.

Would that be general nonsense ?????????
  10. Nom Nom Nom, humble pie has never tasted so delicious. I was one of the sceptics after his appointment but I've been won over and some. Yogi is a top man, one of the real good guys of football and I'm delighted for him. Richly deserved and a tremendous honour for both Yogi and the club. By all accounts his acceptance speech brought the house down. Hayley McQueen just tweeted it was the best she's ever heard.

Terry Butcher no longer has anything to do with our club....so can we bump this thread to a more appropriate part of the site, please?

One word - "confidence". That's all that's different now compared to earlier in the season. The games against Aberdeen and St J sum this up: leading in both in the final 30 min and coming out with only one point in total reflects the jitters in our play late in these games as opposed to the confidence we showed when we were sealing wins at the beginning of the season. IMO we're playing pretty well for the majority of these games, but just can't nail them at the crucial moment. Will take any kind of scabby win to turn this around!

Our run of poor form is just a ploy to foil the watching Falkirk spies.
  19. Was at the game yesterday and I thought that we done well enough to win the three points up until Yogi had taken off Doran for Devine, St Johnstone scoring and Raven being sent off. I thought after we had scored our goal, we had some good chances to score a second and have to mention the superb solo run by Josh Meekings but he went for the safe option and passed to Doran who missed it. I was pretty baffled by Yogi's substitution taking Doran off and replacing him with Devine which in one respect I can see why trying to protect the one nill advantage but Devine was stuck in centre midfield and just looked like a rabbit in headlights. We have Nick Ross, Ryan Christie and Tarmo Kink on the bench, all creative players, they should have been given the nod IMO. The ref was garbage - far too card happy. I agree with Yogi when he said he was out of his depth. We have a massive game on Tuesday now and it will be great to have Ross Draper back.

Hats off to the ICT board for that. Roll back to when Terry left and many fans were concerned about whether we could maintain progress. At that point we were riding high in the league and looking forward to a cup semi thanks to Terry and his backroom as well as players. Yogi's appointment was a surprise and questioned in many quarters (me included) especially when results initially went south. 18 months on and we are playing attractive passing football, in with a great chance of Euro qualification (even with faltering recent form) and looking forward to our 1st Scottish Cup final against a tricky, albeit slightly less fancied opponent ... Who'd have thunk it?! Well done everybody.

The peccadillos of his pontificating personality are of no consequence to me since we are all human and different. More often than not, these can actually be quite entertaining or amusing. But what set my fuse alight was when it became very apparent that he had crossed the line by contacting the HIbs before (in one way or another) he had informed the club of his strategy or intentions. That was against the rules and if any fan thinks that is right then welcome to a "no rules" environment and chaos wrapped in the dissipation and subsequent dereliction of duty and loyalty etc.. Especially when the Management of the club had treated him fairly and squarely and rightly would have expected to have been taken into his confidence as a minimum. The flaring match that set alight my second fuse was his insults to both the Management and fans of ICT by sitting in the stand with the Hibs' management at the first game against ICT at Easter Road as if the ICT people had never been fair to him or guiven him his chance to shine in the sun.

To be honest, I don't sense there is much if any ongoing bitterness over his departure. We have moved on and moved on successfully since then.
