If I find any of you wearing an ICT top with your jeans like this nugget you will be mocked. And possibly have a pie thrown at you.
  2. Agree. Spot On. While our start to the season sucks and is a real downer from the end of last season (still smiling :) ) there is still a lot of football to be played. I don't feel we can really criticise Hughes too much at this stage and he deserves a bit of leeway in my mind anyway now. Outside of Celtic and maybe Aberdeen no other squad in the SPL could cope with the amount of injuries we have and done any better. If once we have some players available again we are still not scoring goals and the defence still looks shaky when we have more than 2 defenders on the park then I'll begin to worry and question but for now there is supporting to be done to help the team through it. Happy Clapper? maybe but who cares. We are a wee club and I am always proud of how well we have done considering that fact. Supporting the underdog is more fun anyway.
  3. Might be prudent to wait until the story appears in a newspaper before giving any weight to it.
  4. He's been named in the Wales squad for their upcoming Euro qualifiers.
  5. Blog from Paul Irving in Daily Record http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/opinion/sport/record-fc-inverness-were-still-6324097#ICID=sharebar_twitter Personally I think he's spot on. There is a lot of football still to be played this season and a lot of players still to get fit.
  6. Yes this is very true I've done it ...but ...Gold bus or Mega bus doesn't go to Parkhead ,Firhill , Tannadyce, Rugby Park , etc. etc. By the time you get yourself to these stadiums you will be lucky to have change of £20 ...
  7. Quite happy to offer to drive Stevie May from Sheffield to Inverness myself.
  8. Just goes to show you actually. Liam Boyce is playing for a far smaller club in a less fashionable league but he's in the squad. Would Mckay be in the squad if he was playing for us or some other 'unfashionable' club but playing and scoring fairly regularly? Probably. Mckay was taken to Wigan in hope of saving them from drop. Unfortunately he never too his scoring boots with him. He only started one game for Wigan and doesn't seem to have impressed. Now Caldwells in charge it seems Billy is even lower down the pecking order so not surprised NI have dropped him. Billy was very good for us but much of that was down to the players around him and the service he got. I'd like to see him back on loan so get on the blower Yogi. I'll even get you Caldwells number if you've not got it already
  9. I don't see negativity just justified concern about a poor start to the season and a concerning recruitment policy. Expressing such concern in moderate terms while still attending matches and supporting the team certainly doesn't make one a 'happy clapper' but neither does it render those of us who have supported the team through thick and thin 'fair weather fans'.
  10. Looking from the outside, and with liitle information to go on, the concerning thing here is the apparent lack of planning, coupled with a perception that there has been a lot of quibbling between manager and chairman over available funds. Mckay was our only recognised striker in January and he left for a fee. This meant that there were at least 2 vacancies for strikers from then and funds should have been made available from the fee in order to get the whole thing moving at that point - there were plenty of punters coming to the end of contracts who were potential targets. I am not in the slightest bit surprised that JH is struggling to find any quality at this stage of the transfer window, now that money appears to have been found. The horse has bolted.
  11. First half we were the better team and probably should have had the game wrapped up. Second half we were absolutely dreadful. As against Motherwell and Celtic, the goals were of the soft variety. I'm all for the passing game, but there's a time and a place. Right now we have a makeshift team full of guys playing out of position. Why are we still trying to play like Barcelona? Almost every goal we've conceded recently has been self inflicted. Overplaying under pressure and turning over possession in a dangerous area. Today was no different. The team is completely unbalanced. Last year we outplayed Hamilton at their own physical game. They were outmuscled by Drapes and Vincent in the midfield battle. We're seriously missing those 2 guys in the middle. Tansey, Polworth and Vigurs are all too similar to play in the same team IMO. We need runners / battlers in there. Unsurprising then that our play was lethargic and slow, and Hamilton won almost every 50-50 and second ball in the second half (until Wedderburn and Horner were introduced). As others have said, it's worrying that Yogi doesn't appear to have a plan B. We've become far too predictable and one dimensional. It's looking like we're going to be battling against relegation this year. Desperate times require desperate measures. Sometimes you need to ditch idealism and go with pragmatism. Until our injury crisis abates, let's ease up on the Barcelona stuff. Especially around our own 18 yard box! When under pressure, hoof it up the park and scrap for second balls. If it's good enough for Van Gaal and Mourinho teams - it should be good enough for us!
  12. While we are struggling, is it really that bad? We competed over 2 games with Astra, away draw with St J at a ground where we historically have struggled, lost at Parkhead against the best team in the country by a long way. The Hamilton game was a disappointment and the display poor but they put 4 past Dundee Utd only the wk before and for 20 mins we were all over them - if given our makeshift team we can compete and narrowly loose to a team fielding its strongest 11 who look crap then I think there is hope. I think we need to get Draper back alongside Tansey in the middle as both look out of sorts in their current roles. Bringing in a new keeper is difficult but with a contsntly changing defence there is no consistent back line to build on. We need to settle for Raven - Tremarco - Devine - Williams until Meekings recovers and Tremarco can go into LB and Williams further forwards. Goals are the problem, we dont have mobility from Lopez like Mackay or Watkins gave to chase the game and he isnt physical like Ofere was to hold the ball up. Perhaps we need to put Wedderburn up front, use his strength to hold up the ball and allow Christie, Mutombo, Roberts to get forwards and support or gather knock downs. Polworth gives nothing and should have gone in the summer with more effort on keeping Nick Ross. Even with the limitations, I think we have more to offer with a few changes, its going to be a tough season but every team who has large number of changes struggles after the summer, those doing well - Dons, Hearts have last years squads, so given time it will improve afterall we are only 5 points off 4th place!!!!

Maybe the club could be chasing up what the reasons are. If they already have, maybe they could update us fans on the situation. Even if JD don't know then maybe someone at the club could say such things.. let us know they are trying, yeah? Or, you know... just none of the above.
  14. Let's just hope Queen of the South don't get promoted this season as it's my favourite away game.
