  1. It's pretty a standard red top story but it is a bit galling to read it at face value and assume that he has only been playing at this level since he went to Aberdeen. Apart from maybe a wee dip in form around the start of this year Shinnie has been a consistently outstanding performer for about two seasons now. He is playing no better at Aberdeen than he was with us. He has deserved a call up for a long time now and whilst I am disappointed he never got that chance with us it's great to see that he is finally getting the recognition he deserves.
  2. Last time I checked Aberdeen was past Perth too...
  3. I'll be pleased for Shinnie , but this should have happened two years ago. Of course he hasn't become a better player, only that he now plays for a more fashionable team. For me, if Shinnie is now selected, Strachan has just confirmed how shallow he is. Not Shinnie's fault of course.
  4. Id personally be delighted for Graeme but as others have already stated its a bit galling he had to leave to get an opportunity!
  5. Well done to the lad if he is called up, thoroughly deserved - he has no control over the criteria the SFA use but he moved to Aberdeen for reasons he could justify and right now that team is top of the league and he may get the call up to the national squad he wanted. I would suggest from his personal perspective so far its been a successful move helping meet his aims only helped by his excellent start to the season and numerous MoM awards. I do wonder if the perception of the quality of players we have does make a difference, he always looked the best player in our team but has now moved to a squad with more quality and internationals yet still looks a cut above. The biggest surprise for me still is that Celtic never took him afterall LB is clearly their weak position, his stay at Aberdeen may be short if he continues this kind of form as its only a matter of time before bigger clubs notice him further.
  6. I have herd that Aberdeen have sold near 3000 tickets which is good money for ICT. I hope there is not a backlash after last night but if Hibs can beat them so can we
  7. Lot's of lads have missed the boat. It's a buyers market. I reckon the club should show some enterprise - rather than paying a wage, we should CHARGE players to join our squad. Think of it as an internship. We give ambitious wannabe pro-footballers from far and wide a platform to train and showcase their skills, and they pay us for the privilege.
  8. Looking forward to a long overdue win against them.
  9. Not sure that is irony - it is just a bit OTT in expressing some points that most would surely agree with. Most people in Scotland outside of the OF are heartily sick and tired of the dominance of the two big Glasgow clubs over the years and it is a pretty dismal prospect to think that next season The Rangers will likely be in the top flight and may well be title contenders. So it really is good for Scottish football that a resurgent Aberdeen are themselves beginning to look like genuine title contenders. Of course I want ICT to win the league but if it is not to be us then I would be absolutely delighted if it was Aberdeen rather than Celtic. As for the former ICT players who now play for the Dons - well, good luck to them! Why on earth would they not want to move on to a club with more prospects, more money and a bigger fan base? We should be proud that our club has developed and brought these players on, grateful to them for the contribution they have made to this club and glad they didn't go to Celtic instead.
