God almighty, we won the cup and some people are upset that Yogi didn't take a photo with them?! You couldn't make it up. Bizarrely some people can't just enjoy the fact we won the cup, instead choosing without a long winded poorly written rant belittling the club's achievements that would make the most paranoid of Celtic fans wince. Don't think I've ever read anything so cringeworthy or self-indulgent in years!
  2. At no time in the second half did it appear our management team wanted to win the game. SJ compressed the space and we played forward and back in front of them. No urgency to move the ball quickly though with balffling subs and a formation which had our most creative players in areas where they could do little damage what could be expected. Maybe Hughes has checked out of Inverness in spirit if not yet in person?
  3. A very very poor performance all round. We haven't got a leader on the park who can assess play as it happens or in today's case doesn't happen. We are massively predictable. St J could have held us at bay with 8 men today. Our two front men in the second half made dozens of decent runs but received no service whatsoever. By the way, what's Hughes problem with Polworth, he was by no means the worse but Hughes looked to be on his case for the whole second half.
  4. I don't understand why we don't put a couple of the U20 lads onto the bench or even Cameron Mackay. Surely there's no hard in it and a potential to gain.
  5. Dire. We have no penetration when we're faced by 2 banks of four. St J played a sensible containing game for 10 men: We didn't look like breaking them down if we'd played for 3 days! Christie had an off day, Vincent looked like he was pushed up front which didn't suit him. Williams was quiet, Polworth was a in bursts and at least fizzed a shot past the post. Total chaos for the pen - schoolboy defending to let the ball bounce - identical to the late concession against Dundee. This is really concerning for the season. We need to start scoring and, in case there is any doubt, our 2 top scorers could be away in January. Never great when 0-0 is the best we can hope for.

  7. Nothing to do with luck. Just not good enough to put away 10men.
  8. Yeah, his total over both spells. 10 league goals in that time - a fair few from penalties - and I think a couple of free-kicks. Could/should we expect more goals from open play from Greg? Not a criticism, just looking at his stats...one thing's for sure - he's a better player than he was in his first spell with the club.
  9. At least it will save watering the pitch and the away fans at half time.
  10. Assuming he's picked, this will be Greg Tansey's 100th league appearance for us. He will be the 8th player in our current squad to reach that mark. With the large turnover of players a feature of the modern game, I doubt there are many, if any, other clubs in the Premiership, or indeed the whole SPFL who can boast 8 'century club' players currently on their books.

A football Manager's job is so precarious nowadays that it is completely understandable that a Manager especially one who is going through a successful period should aspire to get the best deal he possibly can from his parent club or any other looking to acquire his services. Good luck to John I hope we put the boat out and secure him, he has done us proud and I am sure he will continue to do so. ICT have been taken through loss of star players and many injuries and yet we are still in contention for top six, not many Managers could have done that....John has!

That's gutting to hear she was made redundant. I reckon we should get a rid of Dani Lopez and re-sign Laura on a 3 year deal

If Yogi is holding out for an improved contract offer , today's result and performance will have done him no favours. If he is wanting away, he is going the right way about it!!!!

hopefully it's so long john.......... the luckiest manager in Scottish football history. took over a team that just missed out on Europe due to a last game of the season defeat at dingwall. got lucky in his run to Europe as after xmas Dundee utd went into freefall and st johnstone were just too far back to catch us. got even luckier in the Scottish cup semi, we should have been 2-0 down and a down to 10 men for the second half. lucky in the final to be playing a " lesser team", although they certainly didn't look like that in the 2nd half. lucky a headed clearance up the park let Watkins in on goal where a weak shot was palmed out by the goal keeper into the path of a player who had legged it from his own box on the million to one chance he would get the chance he got. when he lost players like mackay, shinnie and Watkins he replaced them with dud midfielders while everyone was shouting for a striker to be bought. if it wasn't for the chairman finding miles storey we would still be waiting for hughes striker lopez " to come good". when we won the cup all the celebrations were done at the corner flag area. everyone from there to the half way line, probably half of our support that day, were waiting cameras in hand to get a photo. every cup final I ever saw on tv has the winning team showing the cup to all supporters wherever they were in the ground yogi walked from the corner to the half way line, head down, hearing hundreds of fans screaming for a photo, ignored them all and at the half way line gave a couple of fist pumps to the Falkirk fans. will never forgive him for that.
  15. Some harsh words spoken on this thread. Emotions obviously running high, not surprising after a mugging like that. Basically we played Saints off the pitch for the majority of the match and came away with nothing. We could and should have 6 points against them this season, as it is we have 1. That's football sometimes. The only criticism that I agree with was our inability to translate an extra man and 70% possession into any decent efforts at goal. Our build up play was unnecessarily intricate and long winded. When your opponents are camped in their own half and playing for a draw - they're happy for you to dominate possession and knock the ball around in your own half. Instead of trying to score the perfect goal we should have shown much more urgency and directness. The more balls you play into the box, even bad ones, the better odds of one finally breaking your way and ending up in the net. As it was, we never asked any questions of an underperforming Saints defence. Ironically, the closest we came was from a long ball over the top to Story, who easily outpaced Shaughnessy and Anderson only to lob over the bar.
  16. That's was nothing short of a disgrace today and for me it was the players that should be blamed, they were slow and getting the ball away from get not making runs and not shooting when space opened up! Fon williams didn't look comfortable today, raven was okay, Devine and meekings seemed solid enough but again slow on the ball, tremarco was isolated! The 3 in midfield were shockingly slow, Williams was sitting far to deep, tansey tried to move the ball but was getting nothing aim at and pol worth was just terrible...I tend to defend him, but the more I watch him the more I think he's another Shane Sutherland, had potential but wasn't given enough time when he first broke through and now is getting used when the team is short and missing 1st team players! The 3 attackers didn't have a good game...Christie was no where near as positive and forward thinking, Vincent didn't want to commit and tried to play to central and storey had a real off day, holding the ball to much and not making his usual bursting runs! Sutherland should have been on much much earlier but suppose it's unreal to think we'd use more than one sub before the 87th minute Hopefully we'll get draper and mutumbo back for Tuesday...but given up seeing anyone else in the squad!
