Those people you criticise who you say 'don't really understand the football business have overseen an amalgamation of two former Highland League clubs consolidating, bar one season, in the top division for more than a decade now, under a number of managers whilst living within our means and achieving the balancing act of keeping the club both solvent and increasingly successful. With respect, in my opinion, those running our club know a fair bit about the business of football and a great deal about the business of running Inverness Caledonian Thistle in particular.

God almighty, we won the cup and some people are upset that Yogi didn't take a photo with them?! You couldn't make it up. Bizarrely some people can't just enjoy the fact we won the cup, instead choosing without a long winded poorly written rant belittling the club's achievements that would make the most paranoid of Celtic fans wince. Don't think I've ever read anything so cringeworthy or self-indulgent in years!

Oh come on all you doubters.Yogi is the BEST thing ever to happen to this Club - FACT. What the do you really expect from the man? He has the smallest budget in the league and he works for people who don't really understand the football business. If they did, they would have given him a new contract immediately the Scottish Cup was won. OK, we are not doing too well right now but what do you really expect? If this club can stay in this division without needing a play off GREAT if we make top 6 BRILLIANT and anything better is a MIRACLE. Long may he reign!!

An interesting statistic from this weekend: We had more possession against St J than Celtic had against Dundee United, only they created over 20 chances and scored 5. Statistically, we apparently created 8 (although I can only really remember 2 or 3) and scored none. Statistics can always be misleading, but this one is not: Having the ball is an important aspect of the game, but using it effectively is much more important. Likewise, this is an entertainment business and what we saw on Saturday was anything but entertaining. Injuries are a major issue without question, but a massive improvement is required for Tuesday...and more importantly, for league business on Saturday.

To be fair to Pishbashposh the "lucky" comments could be acceptable in that context. But the same could be said about any "underdog". What he does not appear to have taken in to consideration is that we were actually playing good stuff and playing well above our potential. It was a side clearly built on togetherness and the SEIGE mentality - and it worked - and probably gave most of us the most pleasurable six months of our footballing lives - and probably never to be repeated. You could even say that luck deserted us in the Europa Cup. And when you think about it Yogi celebrated more in the corner after the Cellic game - both occasions focussing on the singing sections. But don't think that he deliberately ignored the others. Clear signs of a Butcher defender - but the Narcissist was ego stroking with his false charm albeit homage playing to the away supports. No great psychological mystery here. Clearly a fan who has never rated Yogi - probably a Butcher influenced individual - brainwashed and probably thinks that Yogi inherited the castle that Butcher built and took all the plaudits - probably a person that wanted Yogi to make a complete feck up of it - probably one who thinks that the Board are doing a great job and that the decisions about players leaving or staying is wholly the responsibility of the manager. I bet he didn't even go to Bucharest - pity cos he would have got a great phottie in yon wee corner.

While you may believe it may not help their development, is their any harm in having them there? There's also the scenario of us being 4-0 with 15 minutes to go. Would giving one of them some game time at that stage help their development? It absolutely would. Let's change the tables here. Imagine we had filled the bench with U20 players. Would anyone be moaning about it claiming we should just leave the spaces blank? Of course not. Jason Brown was on the bench for the Astra games with little chance of seeing any action and no-one complained about that. There's also the case of us going into away games unable to fill the bench, but with Cameron Mackay (or Daniel Hoban) travelling with the team to help with the warm-up. Where's the harm on putting them on the bench? Imagine Fon Williams got injured or sent off early on and replaced by Ryan Esson, who was then forced off shortly after as well. I think I'd rather have Mackay come on than playing potentially over an hour with an outfield player in goal. Seemingly, Hamilton Accies had an interesting approach to this sort of thing. Under Billy Reid, they'd fill the bench with five first team players and a sub-keeper. The seventh spot was then reserved for an up and coming U20 player, with little chance of coming on. Following the game, the coaches would observe how they benefited from the experience and what they could use from it for their development at the club. To your mind it might do nothing for their development, but to a successful and highly respected youth set-up like the one at Accies, it certainly does. I think I'll take their word for it.

Injuries are an issue but yesterday was much more about tactics and the style of play. As usual it was all about keeping possession. We keep possession at the back and try to work the ball forward by playing balls to the feet. We rarely create anything because the slowness of our build up allows the opposition to get men between the ball and the goal. We also keep it narrow and try to play through the middle. Even when they had a player sent off we kept it narrow rather than trying to stretch them. Tremarco was often wide in acres of space but far too often if the ball ever did get to him it was played to feet so that defenders had plenty of time to get wide and cover. Tremarco would then often cut inside and simply give the ball to someone else rather than take on the defender. What should be happening in these situations is that the ball should be played well in front for Tremarco to run onto and to take the ball into the final third. Getting into the final third gives players good options particularly if players like Tansey, with good shots on them, are providing support - but with Yogi, keeping possession is far more important than taking risks in the final third and therefore we create few chances and even less excitement for the fans. I can't blame the players for the lack of ambition because this is obviously the way they are told to play. St Johnstone did what most teams do against us - because we lack a cutting edge they kept it tight defensively and looked to exploit defensive frailties. The sending off made them even more negative still and they were clearly settling for the draw. However, the inevitable defensive error gifted them a win which the didn't really deserve. Despite our dominance of possession and their going down to 10 men, their keeper must have had the easiest pay day of his career. The net result of this is that we were subjected to a particularly boring game of football. We didn't even have the half time pitch watering to entertain us. I would have had more fun had I stayed at home and done the ironing.

Wouldn't it be great to price up a sponsorship package to lure Kevin MacDonald for a couple of seasons.

Craig Levein?! Steve Lomas?! Ally McCoist?! A few puffs of what you're on please! He's entitled to his opinion like anybody else......

hopefully it's so long john.......... the luckiest manager in Scottish football history. took over a team that just missed out on Europe due to a last game of the season defeat at dingwall. got lucky in his run to Europe as after xmas Dundee utd went into freefall and st johnstone were just too far back to catch us. got even luckier in the Scottish cup semi, we should have been 2-0 down and a down to 10 men for the second half. lucky in the final to be playing a " lesser team", although they certainly didn't look like that in the 2nd half. lucky a headed clearance up the park let Watkins in on goal where a weak shot was palmed out by the goal keeper into the path of a player who had legged it from his own box on the million to one chance he would get the chance he got. when he lost players like mackay, shinnie and Watkins he replaced them with dud midfielders while everyone was shouting for a striker to be bought. if it wasn't for the chairman finding miles storey we would still be waiting for hughes striker lopez " to come good". when we won the cup all the celebrations were done at the corner flag area. everyone from there to the half way line, probably half of our support that day, were waiting cameras in hand to get a photo. every cup final I ever saw on tv has the winning team showing the cup to all supporters wherever they were in the ground yogi walked from the corner to the half way line, head down, hearing hundreds of fans screaming for a photo, ignored them all and at the half way line gave a couple of fist pumps to the Falkirk fans. will never forgive him for that.

While a pretty poor game to watch, we were better in the first half and played any football that was played. Sending off changed the game as St Johnstone just sat in and said break us down. We couldn't do that and got caught with a possibly soft penalty (would need to see again to be sure). A lot of negativity from posters but it has to be remembered that we have so many players missing that it has been hard to get a settled team or options to change things when things are not going well as was the case yesterday. Even when Hughes put Vigurs on, he was simply dreadful with his passing which was pretty poor from a lot of players yesterday. Don't agree with Renegade about putting players on the bench just to fill places though, it does nothing for their development to my mind. The injury crisis is proving some things however about our squad (and I realise this is only my opinion) but to me, Devine is proving a disappointment. His passing is poor, often under no pressure, he gets pulled out of position too easily and seems to lose concentration too easily. Polworth is another whose passing is poor, tackling is almost non existent and just appears to be lost at times. Was very surprised Williams was substituted ahead of Polworth. Until we get some players back, we are to easy to play against at times and teams are sussing this out. Finally, a word on the referee. Sure he didn't cost us the game but I thought he was really poor. Cannot comment on the ordering off as on the other side of the park but Mackay took an age to walk and was shouting abuse including swearing at the fourth official, their number 9 was constantly swearing and shouting at the referee but despite numerous warnings from the ref was not booked. Meekings booking was a joke and he missed some blatant fouls against us. To me he looked out of his depth. Have we any good referees left in Scotland!.

On a positive note. I heard today that some youngsters from Aviemore went to their first football match on Saturday and really enjoyed themselves.
