  1. I'm not saying for one second that fans aren't allowed to express legitimate concern....what I'm saying is, that there's absolutely nothing wrong in wanting/expecting your team to win (regardless of the opponent) and expressing that as vociferously as you like without fear of some grumpy beggar coming along saying "let's not get carried away" etc. I'd far rather spend all week being upbeat and positive and risk a day of being down if we get beat, than spend all week being dull and cautious then having one day of "yeah" before returning to being dull again before the run up to the next game. People seem to have forgotten that following football is a pastime, something which people should look to enjoy first and foremost. Of course there will be moments of upset, or things that happen which we don't like....but all those things can be discussed without the need to banish all hope. It's no wonder we're fast becoming a country full of depressives when the slightest hint of optimism is met with such negativity.
  2. Why have music under him at all? There are plenty other pre-match opportunities for that. The announcer's prime function is to convey information audibly but still in a lively manner and to enthuse the home support. Unfortunately the current incumbent seems to want to become an apprentice DJ - and in the rather dated tradition of Alan Freeman. For instance, he seems to insist on announcing the team lines in the same way as Fluff used to announce the Top 40 to the Pop Pickers.
  3. I was at the Under 20's v Arbroath and the stadium announcer was clear and articulate. Every word could be heard. Compare that to the normal Saturday situation where the voice is not projected very well and is normally drowned out by background music. It is almost impossible to hear a word the poor announcer is saying. Most supporters just shrug their shoulders and say "what was that". Please can the club do something like turning up the announcer's microphone and turning down the music.
  4. Are there access ducts under the A9? Just for a shortcut to long man drive. I will probably subscribe too by the way. A wee heads up the Partick match is on Alba on Sunday.
  5. According to the club website ...... TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED ONLINE BY CLICKING HERE, CALLING/VISITING THE STADIUM TICKET OFFICE OR VIA THE 24 HOUR CALL CENTRE ON 0844 847 1888 The stadium ticket office/shop number is still listed on the contact page: http://ictfc.com/info/contact-us so its not a secret .....
  6. Big Dunc is a fan of including the U20s...and talks here about changes at the club also helping Development Players.
  7. ....or play more with Taylor Swift
  8. I quite like the look of the revamped Challenge (Irn-Bru) Cup, and the inclusion of the Welsh and Irish teams later will be very interesting. Along with the new look League Cup, it's a bold move by the SPFL to freshen up the formats. I'm now looking forward to their next step forward to regenerate fan interest - a league restructure with a 16-team premiership!
  9. I really like this announcer tbh. I sit in the north and dont have any issues hearing the PA.
  10. Needs to play more Taylor Swift IMO.
  11. To be fair to the puddle drinker this was about who he sees as thier biggest title challengers which unfortunately were not there yet. At least he didn't big up Sevco for it
  12. Leave it to the Manager and Team to worry about not underestimating the opposition.....as fans we should be giving it hot licks and bigging up our chances to the max for every game.
  13. Sounds like a good idea, would definitely be interested. Much prefer the highlight/interviews through the club than the bbc!
  14. Hearts have an online TV channel where fans pay a subscription and get highlights of first team and under 20s game, as well as insight into the teams training and interviews with staff and players. I wouldn't mind paying a small fee per month for something similar, providing the content was worth the price!
  15. I'd certainly pay extra for that, I love watching the highlights back whether I was at the game or not, and hate having to wait 48 hours to watch on Sportnotseen. It's always good seeing the goals, but likes of the Arbroath game there was a lot of excellent football being played in between the goals that wasn't shown. I'd happily pay a subscription to see a 10-20 minute edited full highlights

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble ... but read Ian Broadfoot's book and you will see I tried to create such a scheme many years ago. It was termed the "Pay A Player" scheme and designed to give Steve Paterson extra funds when ICT were on the brink of bankruptcy due to the stadium debt. I got tremendous verbal buy-in when it was publicised on the internet and among the supporters but when I was offering direct debit forms to people the mood changed a lot ! People were fine with the concept and the cause, just not so keen to part with their own money. Luckily, David Sutherland came along and made the whole project irrelevant but its not as easy to prise the hard earned away from someone as it sounds ! Time has moved on now and perhaps its easier to implement this. If I had to do it again (which I sincerely hope we never have to) maybe it would be a recurring donation or a gofundme page or something like that. Other options include purchasing seasons tickets (as mentioned), sponsoring players, or buying shares, merchandise etc. I usually end up with a comp ticket or a spare from one of my friends when on my travels and I do always appreciate it, but I always make sure I spend far more than that in the shop for merchandise etc ... and thats doubled now with the wee man being both an ICT and TFC fan too !
  17. Midfield or up front? When did Swift sign?
  18. I disagree. Support to the hilt but not to the point of being a ridiculously unmitigating happy clapper such as those that refused to acknowledge the difficulties that were becoming increasingly apparent towards the end of last season to which some reacted by camping their hands over their ears and chanting la la la..or disparaging those who were expressing legitimate concerns which proved to be well founded. Cheer, big up the team and it looks like a there is a lot to big up at the moment but fans are also entitled to be realistic and guard against complacency too. The club belongs to us all not just the manager, the team and those who speak on behalf of the club.

Amateurish I agree just like the badge we now have.

What on Earth is negative about Kingsmills' post? Just because some people engage in realistic, objective discussion about the team does not mean they don't want the team to win and doesn't mean they are not optimistic. It's no wonder we're fast becoming a country full of depressives when people cling to unrealistic expectations only to have those expectations shattered when reality bites.
