  5. I've deliberately avoided getting involved in this debate up till now, although I admit I have followed it, and quite enjoyed the 'banter', if that is what it is, between the two main protagonists, CB and CaleyD. Not professing to know a fraction of what either of them apparently knows, I must say that my own opinion, garnered from all I've read to date, would lead me to side more with CB, whose comments in the above post, I think are spot on. But, I've no doubt several posters may have different views.

  6. Apologies, OCG, I am probably a victim of my own attempt not to be too abrasive. A touch of the Sir Humphrys, perhaps. Essentially what I'm saying is that I wish some people would accept that, thanks to pretty good governance, this club has led a charmed life for years. It's therefore not all that helpful trying to apportion blame when the realities of a fundamentally loss-making operation can no longer be kept at bay. I would be even more reluctant to press the nuclear button with the suggestion that if people want a superior product then they should be prepared to pay more for it (as happens in any other line of business) instead of constantly looking round for other people to subsidise their activities.

  7. If we don't go down, then we won't be the next Dunfermline...given that Brechin will finish bottom, it's just about avoiding 9th, which we are good enough to do, without being complacent. I'd quite happily take Dunfermline's position just now! No competition is a 'nothing' competition & I, for one, am looking forward to the Irn-Bru cup final.

  8. I got a great view of this at Pittodrie & have never forgiven Neil Lennon to this day for his disgraceful actions. Think I had to be persuaded not to run onto the pitch after Lennon myself!! I remember Juanjo being particularly upset, as his family were over from Spain to watch him play, if I remember correctly? Two things I took from that day - ICT were a decent team that could compete at that level & Neil Lennon was a cheating scumbag of a player...I may let this go one day, but not yet ? One of our more fondly remembered ex players - I was definetly a fan of Juanjo!

  9. Leaving aside the personal nature of some of the above I don't think it was a big secret to most fans that the club were budgeting and spending for mid table in the premiership? Relegation was always going to have real financial consequences as has now become the case. I would liken it to having a job with a good wage and managing your mortgage commitments etc but then suddenly you get made redundant? I think that scenario would apply to a lot of us and the way the football club was run is no different. Last time we were relegated the money was found to get us out of the hole we were in and thankfully worked quickly. This time the suggestion was that the same would happen, have a look at the original ST renewal letter that was sent. How many of the players mentioned there are actually still here? Even if you do accept the argument that we can have more players for less dosh we are still clearly living way above our means. Crowds and hospitality income is falling and may well become even poorer come renewal time in the summer. Personally (and It is only my opinion on what I see and hear) I think the current board are good at talking a good talk but the jury is well and truly out on whether they are up the job of sustaining our current setup or in fact taking it forward again.

  10. With our current budget it is more likely to be a bottle of milk laid down by Stratton's dairy 25 years ago.

  11. Well that worked well - This thread has got far more interesting since debarring the posts lightening the whole scenario. Perhaps a sign of the CJT "power" in the future if the complainants join the new Board.

    • Inverness CT 0-2 Kelty Hearts - League 1
FULL TIME 0-2: After last weeks win at Cove, this was a massive disappointment. The only thing in our favour was that Annan lost as well and they remain three points behind us. It's the Caley Thistle Way; one step forward and two steps backward. Another difficult game next week away to Stenhousemuir.

    • Cove Rangers 0-3 Inverness CT - League 1
A Keith Bray hat-trick secured all three points at Cove as the Caley Jags survival bid was revived. Alfie Stewart was instrumental with all three assists and a clean sheet at the back was welcomed with Remi Savage returning in defence...

    • Cove Rangers -V- Inverness CT - League1
Cove Crunch Encounter: We will be without Luis Longstaff, Alfie Bavidge and the rest of our longer term casualties for the run-in. Paul Hartley's Cove will be without the suspended Mitch Megginson. Declan Glass and Arron Darge are facing a fitness battle.

    • Queen of the South 4-1 Inverness CT - League 1
Jack Hannah scored his first goal for Queen of the South after Alfie Stewart had opened the scoring for the visitors. Queens eventually routed the Caley Jags 4-1 with further goals from Jordan Allan and a brace from Admin Books. He really has it in for us and was a pain in the rain.
