  1. So it's somehow CJT's fault that the club aren't doing what they said they would with regards to being open, transparent and more communicative? ? A functioning CJT would be a good vehicle by which to hold them to account...but in the absence of that, someone who had, say, a weekly newspaper column could use that to highlight the situation...especially if they are reliably informed...no?
  2. That was sweet revenge for the travesty of the opening game of the season. We were never in danger and really should have been out of sight. My boy George ( see what I did there?) had a great game, obviously got bored of waiting for something to happen and decided to make something happen instead. The first time he went in a run and at least drew a save, he then somehow cocked up a free header, but then went on another run, leaving defenders in his wake and creating the goal. He could possibly have had a tap-in in the second half, if Daniel had opted to cross instead of shoot. There was a palpable buzz around the ground when Daniel came on, a bit crazy the impact that this young lad has, but he's fearless, direct, and things happen when he's on the pitch. He had a mad few minutes, shot saved (should have squared it), got booked, then failed to connect with another cross. His best chance was when somehow we ended up 3 v 2 but the keeper made a great save, from a difficult angle. I'd love to see him and George get a full 90 minutes together. I suspect it would be carnage. Austin - jury is out for me. Showed some good touches, by all accounts his effort was going in before Oakley "intervened". But - he's made of crisps. Pretty sure he was hobbling about prior to being subbed? I'm bemused by the vitriol from certain North Standers to Vigurs. Sure, he might not be quite as good as he thinks he is, and a lot of stuff doesn't come off, but pretty much everything comes through him. He bossed the cup final, and he was never far from the action last night. Donaldson, Warren and Ridgers were solid, and we never looked like we were going to let them score. I was surprised to see that Utd edged the possession, because we were so comfortable, I'd have had it at least 60/40 in our favour, apparently not. Who cares, 1-0, job done, let's do St Mirren.
  3. A post from someone who knows much about the properties of Kevlar and very little about the subtleties of cricket.
  4. Any news on a date etc. I have travel arrangements to make. How do I access the travel and subsistence claim forms ?
  5. Feck me we have an Old Team now as well
  6. I didn't see how it ended but certainly saw the start of aggro in the Main stand refreshment stall. As an Inverness fan (no idea who the Inverness culrpit(s) were), I was embarrassed/ashamed. It started with some friendly banter from a couple of possibly well-oiled but decent-natured Dumbarton fans at the head of the catering queue offering to sing a song for us . However it developed into aggro machismo nonsense and aggressive posturing imho because an Inverness fan came down into the refreshments area initially shouting random frustration about Vigurs but then turning his frustration/aggressive shouts towards the said Dumbarton fans (almost as though he thought they were specifically addressing him ... which they weren't). In truth, the Dumbarton lads were just looking for a laugh. I didn't perceive any ill will at that stage from them. I was close to telling the Inverness fan to pipe down but thought it might just antagonise him further and hoped it might just peter out. My aged father-in-law did actually ask him politely to stop shouting in his earhole (because that's how it felt from his close proximity). The female steward on hand was out of her depth and the Dumbarton fans having been served were encouraged to remove themselves by another steward that came on the scene ... which unfortunately involved the Dumbarton fans having to pass said Inverness fan. By this time, the Dumbarton boys had (possibly understandably) lost their sense of humour and were getting a bit aggro themselves. To be frank, I'd have been annoyed had I been in their shoes. There may have been a physical exchange back outside the refreshment stall area with that or another Inverness fan after/in the course of the Dumbarton fans exiting the refreshment stall area. Naturally, I don't condone either side throwing fists but, like I say, I didn't see how it ended. Well done for the club taking a firm stance on this. I remember when there used to be a tannoy announcement before home matches that said we're a family club and we should kindly refrain from foul and abusive language. It may sound corny these days but it saddens me somewhat that a very small element of our support seems to have moved away significantly from behaviour that's acceptable.
  7. Danny MacDonald was at the game on Saturday, wearing official club suit and in the directors box area. If he’s moved over to the football side then that’s a good move, IMO. He’s got background that and did well that area previously. when I was queuing for pies at half time I saw two fights break out. Firstly some guys were trying to sing Celtic songs while standing waiting and another fan shouted at them. They exchang d words and both parties waited for security to arrive before giving it the old “mon then eh” display, safely behind stewards so nothing could actually happen. There was then a punch up further back in the queue but I didn’t see what that was about. It was hilarious to be honest, fail to see why a statement has to be released about it. I was disappointed because I thought we were going to get an update on the investigation into the Twitter account liking porn or when we are going to see the Duncan Shearer Memorial Under 11s Tournament,
  8. I am reliably informed that there are some self-righteous shittstirrers with big penises who have turned this forum into a bit of a boring turn-off.
  9. CJT is in the queue. Tomorrow it's a combination of reflections on Saturday's cup success and how completely bogging the sponsor's product has become since AG Barr were bullied by the Nanny State into halving the sugar content because not everyone possesses the same iron self-discipline was your good self.
  10. It could hardly be CJT's fault given that CJT has not existed in any meaningful form for a very long time, but this does show us just one possible role of a fans' organisation that actually does something. Nor is it the function of the media to take the initiative by way of transacting club business. Given also that the function of the newspaper column in question is to express opinions and not to break news, I would have thought that one or two views on the eternal soap opera which has been the perpetual dysfunctionality of CJT would be higher up the list of the columnist's priorities.
  11. I can't fathom that possession stat at all. Looked much more like the reverse from where I was sitting.
  12. I think Charles hits the nail on the proverbial head on this. If CJT ever gets functioning properly again, then they could play a huge role in getting better communication between club and fans and it is much easier for the club to communicate on the bigger issues with one supporters body. I have no issues with the club pursuing any other avenues of communication such as Facebook etc but for major issues, having a representative supporters body is a must. Was not at Perth and have no knowledge of any incident but we do have an element of fans who are, frankly, a disgrace and who appear to want to become our version of casuals. I have no issues with the club statement what so ever and some of the criticism of the board on here is embarrassing. If people think they can do better, then try to get on the board and change things which brings me back to CJT.........

  14. I presume this relates to the young lads going on the park after the goal which was a bit daft but in no way warrants this sort of hysterical hand wringing, yet again. This constant vilification of our dwindling support really does my head in. Rae is presiding over an utter shambles off the park, and serious under performance on the park, and seems to be using these regular attacks on our own fans to deflect from these glaring shortcomings. You can guarantee that there will be yet another negative article on the BBC website this afternoon which is completely unwarranted. I'd be more interested in hearing when our emergency loan players are arriving or an update on the impact our COO and Commercial Manager are having on addressing the aforementioned operational shortcomings. "Barley Chatterman to thread, Barley Chatterman to thread....unacceptable social malaise in the bagging area."
  15. Well, for me, that was the best team performance at home this season. Lacking maybe in goals but no lack of application and energy. All over the pitch we were 100% committed to pressing and picking up loose/2nd balls. Deserving of a wider margin of victory. Utd were played off the park and their threat snuffed out. Difficult to pick out a man of the match. Doran must start more. Mackay needs more game time. Almost wish the season was just starting now. Well done all!
  16. Incredible that they've managed to release a statement with absolutely no detail in it whatsoever. Does that clown Rae have any idea what he's doing?
  17. This. I get that they were excited. But there's no need to go on the pitch and definitely no need to confront the other team's players. That's just idiotic behaviour and there is no justification for it.
