  1. Why would you, and others, want to limit or belittle fan involvement or interest in their clubs? You do realise you are contradicting legislation, vis-à-vis the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015? Of the eight clubs in Scotland who are minority owned by supporters (10-49%), only one has had neither supporter representation nor structured dialogue. Trust in Killie raised £100,000 to get a representative on the board, which they now have. Foundation of Hearts are speaking at a Supporters Direct meeting at Fir Park next week, presumably to update on their 75.1% ownership progress. But I guess that's just more nonsense.
  2. A simply stunning ICT performance of yesteryear. A return to the reliable 4-2-3-1 setup and philosophy of sitting in, absorbing pressure and hitting Dunfermline hard on the break. Going into the game and seeing the line up I wasn't expecting much at all but needless to say by full time I was eating humble pie and it tasted great. Pretty standard defensive set up with Chalmers and Welsh shielding in front of them. Doran started on the left, Walsh right and Polworth behind White. For most of the first half we were probably second best although Chalmers (possibly White?) had a good chance with a header from a Walsh cross and the latter linked with Doran to tee up a good chance but his low drive was well saved by Robinson. Dunfermline forced Ridgers into some good saves with the pick of the bunch coming from a fierce drive by Hippolyte. The second half saw ICT tear Dunfermline apart by allowing them to come on them before clinically hitting them on the counter. The opener however came after a free kick found its way to Walsh on the Pars left flank and he stood up a cross to the back post where Rooney ghosted in to steer a header into the net. We extended our lead with a quite brilliant counter attack. Dunfermline failed to make one of their many crosses go anywhere useful and Donaldson cleared the ball to Oakley who brought the ball down and quickly fed Doran who galloped down the right wing and picked out Polworth darting into the box with a quite delicious cross which was sidefooted in to make it two. The game was killed off when Ridgers partially sclaffed a clearance up the pitch in the general direction of Doran. As the ball sat up nicely for him Doran cheekily backheel flicked it over his head and into the path of Oakley who bench pressed the Pars defender and raced towards goal and cooly slide the ball past Robinson. A deserved three points and a really good defensive performance from ICT coupled with clinical attacking play. Mckay and Donaldson mopped up pretty much everything that came towards them and Rooney, whilst not great in the first half, really grew into the game after his goal. Tremarco was very solid at left back as well. Welsh looked like the gritty midfielder we have been missing and whilst perhaps not as good as a peak Draper he gives us a bit more bite in the centre and allows Doran and Walsh to be more creative and fire in crosses like they did today as well as releasing Polworth to play further forward. White struggled to begin with but like Rooney grew into the match the longer it went on as he dropped deeper to link with the midfield and build counter attacks. As has been mentioned on here before it may be that this season we are a more successful team away from home than in Inverness where we might be expected to dominate the opposition. Based on today it seems very much like this is a team that would excel sitting in and hitting on the break and we're unlikely to do that much at TCS. Hopefully Robbo keeps the 4-2-3-1 going forward. A 3 - 0 win away from home against a fellow promotion challenger is not to be sniffed at.
  3. County supporters I know feel that they are part of the whole Ross County thing. It's very much a community club, hence the large support. I used to feel that about ICT, but now I feel the upper management is aloof and arrogant, and I wonder if others feel likewise, and if that would contribute to the lack of support.
  4. Seriously, a lack of communication from the board is leading to a 1000 missed fans every week!. That, in my opinion is nonsense and there are many reasons for this, one of the biggest seems to be the lack of interest in their local football team by the good people of Inverness. This has been the case for many seasons and I wish I knew the reason why. As for communication from the board, I think some people want communication for communications sake. If there is nothing to say from the board then don't say anything as there are plenty posters on here who will criticise any message from the board whether good or bad news. This is however where CJT can play a big part in improving lines of communication between fans and the board. Is there any update from CJT?.
  5. Nobody is obsessed. Many of us would just like the current regime to do what they undertook to do and have failed to do ever since. ICT used to feel like a family from the board room down to us humble souls in the stands. That has been lost in recent months and that is a great shame. Our club has always been most successful when there is harmony and folk are pulling in the same direction. That is not a matter of money or resourses but simple courtesy and respect for the fans which will then be reciprocated.
  6. It'll improve when the Chief Executive and media experts take up post.
  7. No and every year we buy it! I do think there are good people working hard at the club but on the other side the basics are worse than ever and fans feeling taken for granted and distanced from the club more than ever before.
  8. a really good result against the Pars yesterday but the blazers will believe that it's their policies that achieved it.
  9. Scarlet, it's not a failure to make 'constant contact' that is the issue. Nobody expects that. It's the failure to make any meaningful contact at all for weeks on end that is the issue.
  10. 1 point
Think what he did was both in interests of himself, and the club. He got very few appearances in both league and cup games, so I think leaving for whomever he goes for, is a better choice for him and gets more appearances and furthers his career. Considering we have a such (dare I say it) wide choice of players, with youngsters fighting for their place in the first team and older more experienced players already cemented in their first team slot, Zak probably couldn't've kept up, due to the fact he was injured for the majority of last season, only managed to get a single game this season and may have lightened on his training routines as to prevent further injury. Wherever he goes (hopefully not the County), hopefully he has a better spell than he did with us.
  11. That was fun! As RiG says, it was an excellent counter-attacking display after a tetchy first half. Doran's second half performance was particularly pleasing - I've doubted his ability to come back and he's clearly had to change his game but his work-rate was superb today and his class eventually shone through with two wonderful assists. Great to see Polly back in his proper position and the fans did a good job of undoing some of that damage. We also saw decent games from Donaldson, Tremarco, Walsh and Welsh, and Ridgers made a couple of blinding saves. Our weaknesses, though, remain glaring. Rooney is a huge concern, and while Welsh is an improvement on Trafford, we still aren't strong enough in defensive midfield where Dunfermline found a lot if room to get shots in from the edge of the box in the first half. And we're no closer to finding out who our striker will be - White worked hard and used his body well but Oakley looked far sharper when he came on and took his goal well.
  12. Ridgers was excellent today but it was a very good team performance by all the lads. Great support from all the fans who travelled down today too
  13. Looks like Robbo has found it again...I like Calder and McCart, it's a long season, they'll get their chance. Brilliant win away, that 0-5 from a year ago exorcised, the only unbeaten side in this league now, pleased for Polly and Oakley, but especially for Rooney. I heard Ridgers pulled off a couple of good saves, last year he was the butt of some dissent on here, but came through a poor start to his career here to become a bit of a favourite. Walsh is starting to sound like our signing of the summer.
  14. We were beaten by the better side today, think you have one of the most honest managers in Scottish football.
  15. why are most communications only around the time of season ticket renewals........ Coincidence I think not.......
  16. It wouldn't be so bad if one of the chairman's first acts wasn't to issue a statement promising better communication. Why promise something you apparently had no intention of delivering ?
  17. The most sensible post on this thread by a long way. Some folk just seem more obsessed with off field matters than what happens on the pitch
