How is a major honour a Mickey mouse cup? Just cause you don't get into Europe don't make it pointless . You will find you get more money now out of the Scottish League cup due to the BT Sport coverage £250,000 for winning it £115,00 for the runners up plus the TV money. You only win £60,000 for winning the Scottish cup these days runners up gets £30,000. You get the same amount (£60,000) for reaching the League Cup quarter finals. As far as I'm concerned the League Title Scottish Cup & League cup are your big three domestic cups & that's it the same in every country. Each one should be taken seriously especially if your a club like ICT. Football is all about winning major honours something we don't achieve often. As for the "No one cares who wins it" argument plenty of people do I remember every team who has won it in my lifetime & know of finals that happened before I was born it's one of the few cups I care about it's the same with a lot of football fans I know.
  2. Good call. I am not surprised by the decision of the Highland League. Although it may have suited us, to have a Colts team from a higher tier would have compromised the integrity of their competition just in the same way as having Old Firm Colts teams in League 1 or 2 would compromise the integrity of the SPFL. Playing the idle Highland League team on an informal basis worked for us before and there's no reason why it couldn't work now.
  3. Aye because the highland league gets huge crowds. It's about fitness and development. Any game is better than no game and both sets of players would want to prove their worth.

Feck me - Look what I have seen in my crystal ball
  5. as we did many years ago our reserves could play the "free" team away from home. good experience for the youngsters and squad players not involved in first team that week. we could also do the decent thing and get big Dunk back in part-time to help out on Saturdays.
  6. You need the SFA licensing requirements and the SPFL rules. The SFA licensing requrements set the requirements for each level - USH is only at gold level - and the SPFL rules which who say what level is required for each league, as below: "D4.4 any ground which a Club or the Candidate Club registers or is deemed to have registered as its Registered Ground, must, by not later than 31st March preceding any Season and for the whole of that Season: D4.4.1 with respect to Clubs entitled to play in the Premiership and the Championship have achieved and maintain with respect to stadia criteria at least the Bronze Standard set out in The Scottish Football Association National Club Licensing Manual in force and as amended or supplemented from time to time; D4.4.2 with respect to Clubs and Candidate Clubs entitled to play in League One and League Two have achieved and maintain with respect to stadia criteria at least the Entry Level Standard set out in The Scottish Football Association National Club Licensing Manual in force and as amended or supplemented from time to time; D4.4.3 with respect to Clubs entitled to play in the Premiership and the Championship have had and have adequate winter pitch protection, as provided in Rule H10; ... H10 Each Club shall provide, maintain and use in such manner as to ensure its efficient and effective operation an adequate winter pitch protection system. Such systems shall be fully utilised by the Home Club before any League Match or Play-Off Match where there is a reasonable possibility of its pitch otherwise being frozen or covered in snow or ice so as to ensure that the League Match is able to take place at the venue and on the date and time scheduled notwithstanding such possibility."

  8. I was checking up on it while you were asking the question! Apparently the requirement for undersoil heating was dropped - along with the requirement for 6000 seats - when the SPL and SPFL merged a few years ago.

The sort of complacency that the manager and the players certainly won't share. Nor will most sensible and realistic fans.
  17. We have no money! Wishlists useless...sorry!
  18. If polworth goes we will definatley need someone in midfield. I don't think defence is our biggest problem it's the link play between midfield and the front men. That's where we have been weakest.
