No cheer leading here ... just want someone willing to run our club properly and capable of doing so. Who they are is irrelevant, what they can do is what matters.
  2. We do not know what is ahead but CHANGES and happenings can be for the best. The playing squad and management are doing their bit on the field, we are just gathering a bit of momentum with our results so lets hope that positivity continues. The current obvious downside as we all know is the lack of support ……….perhaps a new regime will come in with fresh ideas on how to attract the inverness public to our ground and to find more investment for the Club. All we can do is continue to cheer the lads on, keep an open mind on direction and hope for the best...………..Come on ICT
  3. This is the time our 10% voting right becomes very very important so please ST use it well

It's not the numbers it's the quality.

This is the end of the Muirfield Mills @ ICTFC era. It was a much heralded arrival, although initially shadowy in its existence, it excited many, but ultimately what did this reign deliver to our 25 year old club? The achievements, successes, follies & setbacks will no doubt be discussed & debated by supporters far and wide. There has been a fair amount of manoeuvring behind the scenes over the past few months. These resignations are hardly a big shock. A duo & an individual, whom have considerable funds to plug the gaping financial chasm & in time, drive the club forward have been diligently active in the background. Both have continually refused to release further financial assistance until MM move on. Actually, the dynamic duo have in the not too distant past, poured £££,£££s into the ICT coffers in order to fill a rather large accounts oversight which had effectively rendered the club trading as insolvent, a drifting ship, so to speak. This enabled MM to continue, albeit temporarily, however. Further holes in the accounts have been looming closer & closer. The openly public, and slightly nauseating and alarming MM appeals for new streams of income, new investment & fresh blood on board fell largely on deaf ears. Although some heard the cries, there was an unwillingness to flourish more £££,£££ s on what they now considered a financial basket case. No more back seat bail outs for MM. Naming rights to the stadium were heralded as a future star big earner that would help in part, to steady the drifting ship. In reality, the spreadsheet trudged on wearily, unattractive to investors & somehow becoming increasingly feral as large sums were spent on CEO's, confidentiality clauses and pay offs, big wages splurged carelessly on General Managers, Accountants, Catering + Cooks, Commercial Managers, Academy Directors etc etc. This ever upwards spiralling increase in off field wages has been a massively damaging and game changing own goal this Club could ill afford ( pun intended ). The dynamic duo & an interested individual, reeled in horror as the financial outlook darkened dramatically in what seemed like a shooting ones own foot, several times, scenario played out again & again. Yes they have £££,£££s, but they also had business acumen and savvy & crucially they have extensive knowledge and experience of the internal operations of Football boardrooms and a vital understanding of the world of Football business, which exists and is very unlike any other business model. One individual is doing the ' hockey cokey ', in that, one week he is in ... the next he is out, in ... out... in .... out.... ( shakes it all about ). The individual knows exactly what is under the bonnet of the ICTFC vehicle and what tred is left on the ICT financial tyres. For the moment having, kicked the tyres & checked the dip stick, he is out, sticking to keeping the Lilywhites balance sheet bright. The Dynamic Duo however, have been building solid foundations, which is an area they could be said to have considerable expertise within. The plan has to be based on the tough financial climate in which this Club resides. A business plan that is capable of satisfying the observations and prodding of the Scottish Football governing bodies. A blueprint that is both fiscally prudent, resilient and sustainable & shock proof. This has been an ongoing process & it has to be professionally and meticulously administered, vetted & thoroughly robust. Perhaps these resignations have signalled that the above phase of construction has been completed.

I am afraid that I can't let that last sentence go unchallenged. I am no fan of Alan Savage, his political views, or how he has divided our board in the past. However, that statement is just wrong and defamatory. Whatever one may think of the man, he has never said that he is waiting for the club to go bust and buy it on the cheap. People may be anxious and feelings may be running high but there is no reason to depart from the truth.

If we call the new club The Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C., do we get to keep the trophies?

absolutely agree. and to be blunt there is no sadness on my part at this turn of events. Its the impact of his tenure that I do worry about. I had dealings with him as a customer, as a service provider, and as a shareholder ... none of those interactions were satisfactory.

Bobby Mann, still probably our best ever centre back and that goal against Celtic and THAT Picture
  10. My thoughts on the departing Chairman and the regime he was associated with are well document, along with my thoughts on where everything was heading over 2 years ago, so no need for me to go over any of that again. All I will say is that even with the best will in the world, nobody is going to finance the £800k+* per year hole in the budget that has been generated by the departing regime....and that's on top of any borrowing which may or may not need paid back....so whoever comes in will have to make some really unpopular decisions because we have teams on and off the park that we clearly cannot afford; not even in the short term. The only question I have is whether or not Muirfield Mills will pass on control of the 700,000+ shares that sit with the Football Trust which they got control of for £1...but I guess that will be one for the EGM. *Probably nearer a £1.2 Million hole as much of it will have been masked by cup money etc.
  11. I always worry about a new broom sweeping dirty, but given our current situation I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will indeed be a clean sweep. However this boardroom situation develops, I sincerely hope it doesn't affect the good things that are now happening at front of house on the pitch and that Robbo is given the opportunity to continue and develop this team.
  12. "Gordy says he has stayed on to try and distance himself from his mates at Muirfield Mills (given the mess things are in" ....... Aye a Boris Johnston style comment from GF.
  13. I don't want to sound negative but the only way we would be attractive to a major investor would be if we went into administration, diluting existing shareholdings to zero
  14. I wish there could be new money in the wings but who and where from ? Club needs a radical overall from top to bottom, starting with a serious strategy to engage fans, gates of c 2000 and 1700 are really tier 1 status and ICT deserve a hell of a lot more support given Robbo is working miracles with what he has. I honestly fear that years of neglect and mismanagement are coming to bite the club......
  15. I was never a fan either. He made lots of noises but the noises were never really tempered by actions. I am really pleased Ross has taken the chair as he is a fan as much as a Director. I am being optimistic and viewing this as new money waiting in the wings to move things forward. Under Rae we seemed to tread water.

Who is already in our hall of fame? Would be helpful to know so we aren’t suggesting somebody already in it. But for hall of fame I’d out Tokley and if a manager is allowed Pete. Memory is when we beat Hearts in the Scottish cup 2002, another magnificent unexpected 3-1 result

First Professional, First International, and a local boy. One of our best players from what I've heard
  18. Which for me falls firmly at the footsteps of both the club (board) and its inability to engage with local community. Most or almost every club has some kind of presence in their town centre, but we fail to capitalise on this. Its been said before there are basic steps being missed Ticket kiosk or pop up shop in town (utilising the empty retail units or areas such as Falcon square - especially on match days) Without wanting the town to look tacky with posters and banners, simple lampost style flags with the club logo/branding in a few places - show a presence A good social media presence both standalone but also tied in with the local community, such as community groups, local press, even the tourist board & council Most important make matchday an experience worth talking about!!!! For example - Getting over these sole sourced catering contracts (lets not even open that can of worms ) to open up outside the stadium with local food stalls, some music or entertainment and even local beers etc. Longterm traders pay a fee or % to have a pitch which will hopefully make money but also fans want to turn up a bit earlier and enjoy being around the ground - The internal catering may suffer a little but overall during the game fans will still have no choice but to buy from there. The summer has now passed and we are heading towards the time of year that its cold, wet, catering is bang average (at best) and fans feel the club don't care. The fan numbers will probably stagnate or drop further regardless of on-field performances (unfortunately) excluding the occasional 'big' game. There really are more negatives reasons its hard to counter argue as to why the 'fair weather' fan wont come leaving just 'die hards'. Its a sad state of affairs but businesses need to learn from mistakes to grow, adapt and survive yet for years the same issues have been cited with minimal changes or improvements.
  19. In my opinion - now that it seems to be running more efficiently - the best thing any of us can do, especially if we have shares and cannot go, or have not setup a proxy with someone else, is to proxy them to the Supporters Trust in case of any voting. I already have a proxy setup or I would do that myself. With a 10% voting right on its own, bolstered by however many small individual shareholder proxies, I would be confident they would have to be listened to, would do what is in the best interests of the club and its supporters, and could certainly have some influence in any decision making. I said it a couple of years ago, but we need them more now than we ever did at any time in the past !

And so the cheer leading, and coronation for the McGillivray's and Alan Savage begins??. Always be careful what you wish for.
  21. Time for change? The club has today announced that the Chairman of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC, Mr Graham Rae, has stepped down with immediate effect. Director Alan McPhee has also left the Board............ Full statement can be read HERE This comes hot on the heels of an Extraordinary General Meeting having been called by the club seven days earlier to be held on 3rd October. EGM full statement can be read HERE. These are worrying times for Inverness Caledonian Thistle and it's generating lots of speculation regarding the sustainability of the club. Hopefully the EGM will be able to provide some answers. It is also the clubs intention to host at least one public meeting shortly after the EGM to allow fans who are not currently Shareholders to come along and be furnished with the same information and opportunities.
