  1. To be honest, I think Tokes could be a very uniting figure. To the older fans out there, we remember him as a player through all 4 divisions. Every time we went up, people wrote him off, but he proved them wrong time and time again. Thats the stuff of legends and kind of embodies the ethos of ICT "punching above our weight" which if ever we needed, we need it now. To the younger players, he seems to have become a bit of a mentor, and they can likely relate since he has played in every senior division in Scotland plus the Highland League. I think he could be incredibly impactful because of that, especially if we have to rely on youth for a few years. If he were to get a highly regarded youth coach as an assistant, for example someone like Ryan Esson, then maybe that could be a dream team. [obviously players treated so badly recently coming back to the club would require several people in leadership positions - not just the manager - to be out the door before that could even be a possibility]. Slightly off-topic, but my son bombards me with football stats he has picked up and my answer to every player question is Ross Tokely! (except when he expects it and I say Bobby Mann or Charlie Christie). He hears it so much, that he has created "Ross Tokely" in his FC24 career mode, and he was won everything ... multiple Champions leagues, world cup, all of it with an average of 8-9 goals a game . (if only that were real) On the other side of the coin, even if he were agreeable to it, would we really want to expose him to what appears to be a particularly toxic swamp as his first experience of managing in the senior leagues? He has not got the managerial experience yet, and if it all goes pear-shaped due to circumstances beyond his control, or his inexperience, then I personally would not want to see his status at ICT tarnished because of others or because he was thrown in at the deep end without a lifeline. On balance, I have to say Ross Tokely - future manager of ICT... someday. just not today!

  2. Calling for the younger local players to be given more opportunity is not the same as asking for a squad almost entirely made up from them. I get that what we have is a result of the financial situation and I accept that but it is not what fans asked for. For me it's still preferable to the Kelty nonsense. The way that this situation was put to fans and then how things developed from there means that what was happening was choices being made. It may be seen as hair splitting but choosing least worst options is not the same as asking for something. The board, chairman and ceo are responsible for putting us in this hole and they can't be allowed to pin blame for the consequences of that on the fans. It's staggering to me that some people (not aimed at you) still want to put any faith in the current leadership to navigate us out of this. It's like some perverse form of Stockholm Syndrome or something!

  3. I'm not convinced. If what you have been told is true, then why the delay? The figures pertaining to the the year to May 23 will have been known for certain months ago. The uncertainty lies in how the club proposed to address the issues the figures indicate so that the business can continue as a going concern. Earlier in the year the club could easily have told the auditors that over £3M was likely from the BESS and a further £1M from the Park and Ride. Clearly it was eminently plausible that both of those schemes would generate funds, so why couldn't the auditors not sign the accounts of then? Yngwie's argument sounds much more likely to me. The auditors might well have thought it likely that both projects would generate money, but they will also have been aware that they might not. Without a more definite assurance and a lack of any information about a more certain stream of funding, they could not sign the accounts off on a going concern basis. The fact that they have now signed suggests to me that they are now assured that significant funding is coming in from another source (and presumably that operating costs are being significantly reduced).

  4. That’s not quite how it works. Forecasts are inherently subjective and nothing is ever guaranteed, but auditors have to review the financial projections and question/challenge the assumptions therein. They can face much worse than reputational damage if they wrongly sign off on going concern. Nothing is certain, but there must at least be a credible plan for survival.

  6. Yep the Richie Foran experience certainly gives you the jitters when thinking about bringing back a club legend but I don’t feel Tokes is another RF - and I most certainly do feel he’d do a far better job with our youngsters than Ferguson - the bar has indeed been set very low now.

  7. Two words. Richie Foran. Would love to see Tokes in the dugout, perhaps with some combo of Doran, Esson, Ridgers, but that may be more sentimental than sensible. He has been quietly doing some coaching and hopefully gaining his badges (?) so if at some stage he feels he has amassed enough experience, is ready and has proven himself at his current level then why the heck not. I am sure he would crawl over broken glass for ICT as a manager given his history and loyalty to the club over the years. If we are using the current manager as a benchmark, then the bar is not that high!

  8. Whatever his perception of the fans may be, that should simply not be a consideration in this. As Chairman, he must take the responsibility for taking the club to the brink of administration. If he has any genuine wishes for what is best for the club and if he has a shred of decency in him, he will remove the charges against the club and write off all or most of the loan. From the concert company fiasco through to the current crisis, his behaviour recently has been such that I have lost any respect I once had for the man. Rather than fronting pie in the sky ideas for making money for the club, he now has an opportunity to do something which is 100% guaranteed to be a big help to the club. If he does that simple but generous thing he will earn back a lot of respect from a lot of people.

  10. This pedalling of the 'fans are getting that they asked for' line is inaccurate and exactly the kind of bs spin that allows those responsible to dodge accountability. NONE of this is what fans asked for.

  11. If there were a large number of Trust members willing to transfer their personal share holdings to the Trust then 18%+ could be achievable to at least equal the Muirfield Mills group. Personally I have 1000 shares and my family members have a further 750. Small change I know, but they are of no use to me. When they were purchased many years ago they were no more than an enthusiastic donation to Caley Thistle. There is little or no benefit to holding shares for me as an ordinary fan. I realise that this is exactly what the Trust would like but it would be interesting to know how this is coming along together with membership details. Momentum is only gained when people feel part of a larger group. I was one of the original Members Club and I was not happy that at the time that we gave away such a large chunk of our share holdings and more importantly our say in the development and future of the club.
