Feel a bit sorry for Alex Samuel. Gave it all for us last season - relegated! Gave it all for County this season (when he got a chance) - relegated! Would we take him back? I would!
  2. The 5 fingers on his right hand.
  3. I hope not. Not if they are 5 mutual friends of Scotty!
  4. Well I am trying to think who his 5 friends might be
  5. ehhh, Facebook ... just NO !!!

I think the number one goal for next season is survival. (Assuming that we do come out of administration, of course - which is yet to happen.) A different type of survival, though, from this past season. More a case of seeing what sort of squad we can get together, ensuring that we don't get relegated, and, most importantly, getting the club up and running on a sustainable basis. Anything else would be a bonus, especially in the league where we start 5 points behind everyone else.

Bad result for us having 2 Prem teams relegated this season. Looking forwards we should hope that RC buy their way out, however on the assumption we get promoted then ideally having a Championship with the weakest opposition possible should be the desire. Having a RC/StJ along with (who ever is relegated next season) the usual PT, Ayr, RR, Dunf would make it all the harder Additionally the impact of not having a top flight Highlands team does nothing but justify the central belt bias and narrative that our clubs are an inconvenience.

Me too, any player with his work ethic I would like to see here. All he needs is some goals
  10. The League Cup is underway
  11. I guess EK would until recently have been the largest place in Scotland without a league club? Population is over 75,000 so there is long term potential to be a top flight club if they could somehow build a fan base, but I suspect about 74,500 of those residents are more interested in the old firm.

Am I alone in actually feeling sorry for County? Perhaps I have been overseas too long, but my dislike for County is at a lower level than the Adams-Esque seethe that I feel for the 'Livi Lions'. In fact, County barely scrape into third behind Livi and Elgin.

Agree. The contacts that Charlie, Kells or others at the club have can be invaluable. However, how we treat other clubs and the players themselves has a huge impact too. We were sh1t at that more recently, and everyone has seen or read about how we treated Shane Sutherland, or Aaron Doran, or how we didn't pay other clubs for loan fees etc. I would like to think that we are now starting to rebuild that - seeing that the club are offering short-term contracts to players recovering from injury, and also the news that operations were paid for is a great sign. The crop of loanees that Kells had after administration also seemed to sing the praises of the club so hopefully clubs that the previous regime burned in the past can see we are back on the rails in how we deal with players and other teams.

Jack Newman's contract is expiring at DUFC according to TransferMarkt. Might be worth a shout?
  15. That’s a decent draw and nice not to have any other teams from our league in the group.
  16. Agreed! St J are just down from the Premiership, Raith Rovers were pretty credible last season, Elgin have been on a roll while local derbies can also always be tricky, and East Kilbride are an unfamiliar rising force. Brora will also have their hands full in a group with Kilmarnock and Livingston… the only group with two of next season’s Premiership sides.
  17. Since we’re not a prem/champ side any longer, presumably with a reduced squad, these games should take on a new significance and be a real test, as compared to the days when we could afford to divide the squad and play 2 games on the same day. Almost tempted to come up and stay over for these, but… June: nah.
  18. Pre-Season Friendly announced Nairn County FC Wednesday 25th June 7:30pm kick-off Station Park, Nairn
  19. Yes agreed, I was impressed by the fitness and physicality of Livi. Fast, strong and not short of ability. Their players were definitely up for it and not willing to accept or drop their heads when 0-2 down. I can’t imagine or think of many teams is Scotland that would be able to turn it round scoring four goals. Their third goal was simply superb. Full credit to Martindale. - Unfashionable Ex-Con has never shy’ed from being brutally honest about his team or his own performance or opinion when loosing or winning. Doesn’t fit the tabloid image or ingratiate himself with the pundits. ‘Plastic pitch and Mickey Mouse support’. Just waiting to hear these calls from the press / pundits wailing about there right to play with the big boys. bc

In the words of Easter Ross oligarch Uncle Roy they're a "local community club" who somehow managed to start 11 non-Scots in the first game at Almondvale and upped the "local" content by starting the utter galoot Jordan White at home. Based on their lamentable second half performance last night there's no guarantee they'll bounce straight back-up. Please God give us an away game in Dingwall in one of the cups next season and 4 league games in season 2026-2027.
  21. Not sure if you meant to ICT or to elsewhere. I don't know the County squad, but I'd have thought that it would be worth sniffing around to see if anyone would be willing to balance the (massive?) drop in salary against the opportunity to stay in the area. Maybe an older player with a wife in a well-paying job and kids in school. That probably narrows it down quite a bit

BC, not sure Roy from InverGordon has plans to reduce his involvement. invergordon fc to have their ground updated, get into the highland league and be used as a feeder club playing RC academy players. Ground The club's original ground was the old "Blackpark" (now part of Invergordon Distillery), before they moved to their current playing field at the town's Recreation Grounds. In January 2025, the club applied for planning permission to upgrade the ground, including building a stand, floodlights, dugouts and a fence.[4] Your point regarding competition for fans………… is it time for another merger ??? ICT + RC = Highland FC. or inverness Caledonian thistle county has a ring to it. Not sure what tuppence is worth these days but that’s just my xxxxxx worth.
