  2. I used to get worried or take it personally when folk slagged this site off. After all, it has been my 'baby' for the last 16? years. However, over time I realised we cannot be everything to everybody so focused my attention on those who spend a lot of time here and that is far more satisfying. We must be doing something right to be in our 17th year of being the main ICT forum on the web, and one of the longest running Football forums around. Whether you like P&B or not, the same has to be said for them. They are likely the busiest football forum in Scotland and outside of "Big Soccer" which covers the globe, probably one of the biggest/busiest around. Div has successfully turned a 'niche' forum for a single team (which is what we are) into one with a national, if not global appeal and I know from experience that this is not an easy task. Most of the CTO naysayers on P&B fall into one of three categories ... they have had some form of run-in with us at some stage, they dont like the fact that we have certain rules we stick to, or they think we are in the club's back pocket ... They are entitled to their opinions but I am not going to lose any sleep over it. We will continue to have our own standards, we will continue to moderate 'in-moderation' as we do now, and we will never be in the club's back pocket (think that one was well and truly dispelled over the last couple of years). The simple truth about the naysayers on P&B is that the vast majority of them have never had a warning from us, nor been banned from the site (with one or two notable exceptions) and if any of them - bar one - chose to return it wouldnt even raise any eyebrows !

  3. What a load of tosh. I've lived in Aberdeen for almost 40 years and in my experience there is nothing other than admiration and respect for what Caley Thisle have achieved and how we have established ourselves in the Scottish game. I'm in Inverness this evening and left the "Caley Club" about an hour ago. What pisses me of is the amount of "Huns" who still frequent the club and think they have a divine right to loudly bad mouth Caley Thistle fans (in our own domain)and confirm their loyalty to the Boyne or whatever else these bigots pretend to understand aboud 400 years of Irish history which has absolutely feck all to do with the Highlands of Scotland. Seventeen years down the line I get seriously annoyed with these morons who should be supporting their local club and buying thier brats Caley Thistle strips instead of old filth merchandise.

  4. I'd love to see Rory at Hibs too - hilarious, they would go down in spectacular fashion.

  5. Hi folks. Friendly Hibby here in peace. You've just acquired a cracking centre half. In response to an earlier post, no he's not the tallest at a shade over 5'11'', but that's not to decry his ability in the air. He's a solid and reliable player if unspectacular, and doesn't have it in him to give any less than 100% at any stage - I include friendlies, bounce games, etc in that. He is an outstanding professional with an attitude to match that, is honest as the day is long, will be a fantastic ambassador for any club, and an exceptional role model for young players. He is also an absolute gentleman with time for everyone, especially supporters. If I had a couple of slight criticisms, it would be that he could use his strength to his advantage a tad more and his distribution could be better. I'm absolutely gutted at how events have transpired with Chris over the last year or so - due in no small part to both our current and previous manager - and am truly saddened to see him leave under such circumstances. He's always been a great idol of mine and will continue to follow his career keenly (hope you don't mind if I check in on here every so often to see how he's been getting on ). Hope all goes well for him at Inverness. He deserves a clean break. All the very best for the rest of the season. Always had a soft spot for Caley (except against my lot of course!!), and have a great deal of admiration for the job Terry's doing with your club.

  6. There's a fair bit of nonsense circulating tonight surrounding both Hibs and Hearts. The rumours linking both with Rooney tonight appear to have stemmed from the Daily Record's online transfer window deadline countdown (the font of all knowledge of course!!). My contacts have certainly been very quiet in relation to Rooney for a good few days now. We've also just announced the rather underwhelming signing of Charlton striker Akpo Sodje, and I'd suggest that will be pretty much it from our end. Dont think its over just yet for the Hibees, my source tells me they are looking for another 5 goalies before the window shuts.

  7. 99% certain I saw Adam Rooney's car parked in the car park of the Hotel at Broxden Perth at 630am. Maybe he was at Tannadice yesterday then on to Easter Road today. I thought I saw Barrowmans car parked at the North Kessock car park, not sure though, wonder how much hes worth.

  8. At least we know Walter Smith has a sense of humour. Pure deadpan wit this one. The Lafferty and Diouf double act will be social gold.

  9. Lafferty probably delighted now that diouf has taken his title as the biggest c**t in scottish football, and by a considerable margin.

  10. El-Hadj Diouf to Rangers on loan until end of season. Seem to remember him spitting on a Celtic fan at Parkhead.

  13. Decent enough player, maybe a bit on the small side for a CB but no complaints from me about this signing.

  14. SMEE is correct that there are numerous languages more commonly spoken in Scotland than Gaelic. Perhaps he should ask himself why? For me, this is the only country in the world that would debate whether to support a language which is part and parcel of our heriatge. I'm not that old and now that 3 out of four of my grandparents had no English when they went to school. Gaelic is alive (just!) because of the actions and inactions of successive governments. Frohm outlawing the speaking of the language (along with the wearing of tartan) to refusing to invest in it's revival, successive UK governments, of all colours, have persecuted the Gael. Contrast that with the behaviour of the Canadian and Nova Scotia governments! There are many things I have a problem with my tax being spend on. Start with illegal wars that cost billions or our own weapons of mass destruction before worrying about giving kids a lift to school!

  16. if adam goes i thinkit might be closer to the ?250k mark, even if he hasn't scored as prolificly as has he has done in the past he still has it in him, at least that's what we'll tell the russians............ wouldn't mind seeing another dedicated striker coming into bolster the squad, even on loan.

  20. There is sooooooooooooooooooo much money swooshing about in the pot (that's crappy red case the chancellor carries, duh) that it's not worth arguing about. The world would be cheaper to run if we all spoke the same language, used the same currency and moved left handed people to their own colony, but we don't do that. Why pick on Gaelic all the time? There are many other things, that cost a lot more that we should worry about. How many kids up and down the UK learn History? Whats the point on that? Why do they need to know whats happened? How many learn music? There's LOADS of musicians already, so we don't need to waste money on that. If we are to get absolute value for every education pound spent, students just need to learn to count to 1'000'000, learn the oxford dictionary, and maybe driving lessons. No one needs anything else, as they can learn it on the job. Anyway, why should MY taxes get spent on teaching people to be a better employment prospect than me? That's backwards.

  21. It's 2 years to the day that Terry and Mo took charge of the club. Although we've had a dip in form last few games. i'm sure we're all in agreement they've done a great job! Happy anniversary and thanks! Here's to another 2 (and hopefully more) years with Terry and Mo!

  22. Fixed it for you. Most county fans I know have Rangers as their 'big' team. Not sure why. There's a big team just across the bridge from the Black Isle for them.

  23. I recall an incident at Pittodrie this season where Munro fell over in the box while waiting for the delivery of a Hayes free kick. In all honesty I'd quite happilly see us continue doing that. If it's good enough for everyone else to do then **** them, they can have their own medicine.

  24. Alex...as JB states...it includes premises like Hoots, Foxes and Mambo...none of which i would class as Nightclubs.....just pubs. But anyhoo...regardless, part of me agrees with you JB, you just have to make sure your in your pub of choice for midnight, but ad rather the curfew was scrapped and we were brought into line with other cities on Scotland. We are still a diddy, backward thinking, highland town at heart

  28. Didn't realise he was only 25, seems to have been around forever. Can't say I've ever been overly impressed by him and the fact he can't get a game in the worst Hibs team in a decade doesn't inspire confidence. Still if he comes in and does a job everyone will be happy

    • Dundee United 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Hopes amongst the Caley Jags support were at rock bottom ahead of this one with the threat of relegation looming large. With all hands to the pumps, Shaw, Boyes and Ujdur were brought back into the squad whilst not really 100% fit. Shaw started as did Pepple and Boyes with Billy Mckay, Lawal and Danny Devine dropping to the bench. Cammy Harper was given the Captain's armband today. It's a daunting task going to the lions den to face title favourites but underdog is our preferred tag. Anyway, 252 of them turned up at Tannadice in eternal hope and Duffy heightened the intensity only for Louis Moult to level things up. That's how it ended, a result we would have bitten your hand off before kick off.

    • Inverness CT 1-2 Ayr United - Report
Having sat through one of the worst games for many a year there is little to hope for now apart from Arbroath to keep losing because we certainly appear to find it difficult to win. We have no game changers in our squad and our manager is playing the wrong type of anti-football to help our cause. Big Dunc thought we were the better team. Pleeeeeaaase, give me a break! We were second to everything and Ayr were always one step ahead of us after the first three minutes. SHOCKER springs to mind.

    • Inverness CT 0-0 Airdrieonians - Report
These two sides looked as though they could play for the whole of March without scoring. In terms of opportunities, the hosts probably shaded it, but when we did miss the first defender, crosses invariably went behind the incoming strikers. On the one occasion we got on the end of the ball Billy Mckay's flicked header was cleared away from goal by Kanayo Megwa.
Not the worst 0-0 draw ever, but scoring opportunities were at a premium. Neither keeper was overly troubled and this game had scoreless written all over it given the evidence of the first twenty minutes.

    • Inverness CT -V- Airdrieonians - Preview
Promoted Airdrie are sitting in fifth place in the table, just below the play-off places with former Caley Jag Nikolay Todorov getting amongst the goals and he will provide a big test for our central defence. We have found Airdrie a difficult proposition at times this season but we did win the last home encounter against them.

    • Morton 0-2 Inverness CT - Report
What a start for Inverness and Billy Mckay, who answered his abusers from last week by opening the scoring in the second minute, firing into the top corner after an assist from Cammy Harper. Robbie Muirhead looked to respond but Mark Ridgers was equal to his effort in the fifth minute. Ten minutes before the interval Sean McAllister curled in a low free kick from the edge of the box to double our advantage and open his scoring account at Inverness. Plenty of bookings but no further scoring saw Inverness pick up a vital three points in the relegation battle although we still remain in ninth spot but only two points from Dunfermline in fifth.
