  1. We can't afford the luxury of continuing to play a player until they become good. Any flashes from Lopez were absolutely minimal and he always looked far too slow and cumbersome, frequently displaying a shocking lack of control of the football and turning over possession time after time. We cannot persevere with a player who was performing as poorly as that in the hope they suddenly become good. I'm sure he's a lovely guy, gobbing on fellow players aside, but the fact is that he was a very poor player and well out of his depth. You need only to look at how quickly Miles Storey has adapted to things to see when a player really does show flashes of talent.

  2. Not sure if games against away at Paisley and Partick could be considered easier than Stirling and Motherwell away. I am glad that we escaped the OF and the Jam Tarts.

  3. Perhaps because very many people with disabilities hold down responsible and well paid jobs and have no need for or desire to be treated differently from anyone else.

  4. Agree with Renegade on this issue. Unfortunately Dani Lopez just couldn't cut it at Caley Thistle. He could very well be technically gifted but he couldn't produce that on a consistent basis. Yes, credit him on the goal at Parkhead however they were cruising and took the foot of the gas, but still a good goal I admit. What soured my opinion on Lopez was the spitting incident in a U20s match, I genuinely can't believe a 31 year old would gob a Teenager - digusting behaviour. I won't lose any sleep over his departure, especially with Alex Fisher being brought in.

  5. Harsh words Renegade. The man did his best, but it just didn't work out. He never regained his place after a faltering start where he was clearly not match fit. I feel he's been scapegoated somewhat for the teams collective poor start to the season. Sad news for him and his young family having uprooted themselves from Spain to move here. As the pundits would say 'there's definitely a player in there somewhere.' We saw flashes of it, but sadly not enough. I was hoping to see him get another run out at some point at TCS to redeem himself, but sadly it never materialised. Hope he gives us a decent reference and his experience doesn't deter other prospective Spanish signings. He'll always have his 2 Europa appearances and goal at Celtic Park to look back on.

  7. I'm really not sure what Lopez, Sho Silva and Mutombo have brought to the side. Just the one goal between them and precious little else in the way of significant contributions to games. Mutombo certainly looks to be the best of the 3 but seems to lack a bit of awareness of what's around him and he ends up making the wrong choices. If only he could stick one or two away soon he could be a player for us but I can't see him being good enough to be a regular starter. The next few months are going to be a testing time for the manager. The outfield players he has brought in have been no great shakes. Wedderburn also looks like he is struggling at this level and it remains to be seen what Fisher and a hopefully fit again Roberts bring to the team. With so many players with contracts up at the end of the season it seems likely that there will be a significant number of replacements to be brought in at some point and I worry that Yogi has yet to demonstrate the ability to find the kind of players his predecessors were able to attract. It is, of course, very difficult on the kind of budget available but that has always been the case. To my mind, the key signings to make are extended contracts of most of the current squad. The sooner players can be tied into new contracts, the sooner we will be able to identify what kind of players we will be looking for next year.

  8. These players who are leaving us were thrown in at the deep end on arrival here due to the loads of injuries Hughes had to contend with, I commend them for trying to fit in. to a style of football that got us up the league and the Scottish cup. We had lost great players, Fans were screaming for signings, we were struggling on and off the field, A very difficult time for J H. He tried to bring strength into the team but was knocked back time and time again. We have now got the wounded reaching match fitness, we are turning the corner now. A big thanks to these guys who have left us they did their best and kept us off the bottom-------------- nuff said

  9. Good move. Will increase what is likely to be a modest crowd and maybe encourage some of the kids to return on a more regular basis.

  10. Yogi said last week that he thought Lopez was one of the most technically gifted players at the club, but that it just wasn't working out for him here so we were allowing him to move on.

  11. Fon williams raven. Warren. Draper. Tremarco . Tansey. Polworth roberts. Vincent. Williams . Storey subs: Esson, vigurs, fisher, wedderburn, mutumbo, foran, Sutherland if roberts isn't fit then mutumbo! Other than that we need pace on the wings and wedderburn struggled against Stirling albeit in the wrong position!

  16. At the risk of sounding like the one-man James Vincent fan-club, did we not miss his energy and movement yesterday?! For all their strong points, a midfield of Drapes, Wedderburn, Polworth, Tansey, Vigurs just lacks energy for me. You can't have only one player (Storey) making runs - too easy to shut down.

  18. The comments from John Collins today were certainly quite encouraging in that ICT seem to be Celtic's preferred destination, but it really depends if the player wants to come here or not. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35265183 If the mooted moves do come to fruition, we'll have done very well in this transfer window to have Lopez out and Stokez in.

  19. Likewise, only saw a breif glimpse but offered nothing, Mutumbo is another who although he has an exciting name does nothing in his fleeting appearances - he runs about a lot but nowhere near the ball and never towards it. As for Hibs after Stokes that has been suggested since before xmas when him and Allen were touted as being the Hibs signing coup this window

  21. He didn't try his best at all, he looked liked he couldn't be bothered and bereft of any drive. He may very well have been gifted but the only thing of note (bar a consolation goal against Celtic) was the spitting incident in a reserve game. Spitting on a teenager no-matter what the circumstances was awful and brought some coverage we could've done without. No doubt we'll see him on some of the 'Worst Ever Player' threads in years to come.

  22. And surprise surprise Dani Lopez has left the building. Kenny Crawford from the BBC has just tweeted that his contract's been cancelled by mutual consent. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner
