  1. I find it hard to believe anyone actually thinks we are not already in a relegation fight. There are only 8 points between 4th and 11th position and all those clubs are capable of beating each other and all of those clubs will have good runs and bad runs from time to time. The truth of the matter is that we are both in a relegation battle and in the mix for a possible European place. Partick and Motherwell may have got thumped at the weekend but both were on a good run before that. Fortunes can change quickly and we are one of several teams who could become a little isolated in 11th place with a bad run of form. Similarly, if Dundee Utd go on a little run like Partick did recently, they could be well and truly back in the mix as well. Personally I think we will be safe enough but nobody should take anything for granted at this stage of the season.

  2. Perhaps the most incendiary thing about that statement!

  3. Surely you don't have any sympathy with these idiots who ignore the law, risk sanctions against the club and, most seriously, risk injuring their fellow fans. Sing your head off but leave those dangerous devices far away from any football ground....

  5. A win on saturday, and assuming Aberdeen and Motherwell also win, puts us 5th. A loss with those other results and we stay 7th. 4th to 11th is very tight and all those teams have a right to win. We just need to fight a bit harder and for the full match. I believe we can make 4th place by end of season and maybe even better simply because I dont think Aberdeen or Hearts are a great deal better than we are.

  7. Surely long overdue that that article be removed! What purpose does it serve now, 22 years after the merger?

  8. I too am glad! Don't have to 'worry' about goal 2,000, for around 7 or 8 years! The breakdown of goals: League: 1,237 Scottish Cup: 123 League Cup: 93 Challenge Cup: 47 Europe: 0 Although, largely irrelevant, It would have been ironic if say, Dani Lopez had notched it before he left the club. But, all 3 milestone goals have been scored by players who have been significant contributors for us; Xausa (500th), Munro (1,000th) and now Draper (1,500th).

  9. Perhaps the best outcome since there is doubt as to his ethics and connections, not to mention the mere fact that he was not even courteous enough to return our Manager's telephone calls. Courtesy costs nothing and I'm sure John Hughes was not impressed, especially in view of the attention our Manager paid to the assisting of his career in former years from which it is clear that he benefitted greatly. Not cool or, as we used to say in our younger years, not infra-dig old chap.....meaning a low blow or dig. I had to look it up in the old Oxford English dictionary though. Or, as an old girlfriend used to say to me when I asked her if we could go into her house .... " infra penny , infra a pound.." To which I replied with a puzzled look..."Eh what?" And she and responded with a wink .." Of course, a penny to get inra door and anything else is by negotiation when you pound onra door.

  10. The Catto family own and run Scotlog Sales, so your speculation may well turn out to be correct.

  11. Pure speculation here from me. If the 19% figure is correct, and using Yngwie's figures from above, Alexander Catto's 5% plus Scotlog Sales Ltd's 14% = 19% In actual number of shares, this would be 140,000 plus 433,950 = 573,950 shares. Precisely the figure Tyrone Smith quoted. Also, the 19% share would leave the Hospice as the second biggest shareholder behind the 24% held by the 'Trust' - again consistent with what's been reported. But, as I'm using peoples names here without any supporting evidence, no inference should be drawn from what my simply be an arithmetic coincidence.

  12. In terms of creativity, we could do worse than looking to sign Josh Falkingham from the Pars. Cracking wee player.

  13. With our Premiership future looking relatively secure, might it be worth looking to give some of the players on the fringes some match time in the league fixtures?

  15. Great that it's on Sky. Will save a lot of people from having to travel to it. Will the clubs rethink the pricing now? Out of interest, how much will Sky pay for the rights?

  17. Not a good result. Was sincerely hoping we could pick up 3 points today. Truly in the relegation mix now.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

    • Inverness CT -V- Morton - Preview
Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D
