  1. Not long to go before we witness another famous ICT Scottish cup victory. Good luck to the team and management. Let's get behind them at hampden and help make it happen. Carpe Diem. Go for it. ?

  2. Hopefully this last minute foreign signing can make the difference for us!

  3. I’ve a nightmare.... pre booked holiday in Cyprus (ok, not that bad) but our flight to Gatwick is 5 minutes after kick off. I won’t know the result until we land at 1715. It will then be a happy or dismal period before our Inverness flight at 2030. And I’ve to drive home.... I was at the semi in 2015 and hope you all have as great a day as I had then. Come on Caley Thistle, make this a great season that we will all remember!!

  4. So it will apply in the final then.

  7. Difference with league 1 and championship is different. Same with league two and league one. 9th plays 4th, 2nd plays 3rd and the winners play each other.

  8. One day, 16hours and 55 minutes if you must know. You better start reading the preview now, there's a lot in it and it's still no complete..............

  9. Only applies against Celtic, I’m afraid. Anyway, we won’t need it ?

  10. Does the SFA website indicate whether our special dispensation to have an outfield player make one save in the course of a Scottish Cup semi final is still in force ?

  11. I don't expect us to win, but I think we can win. The great thing about the cup is that it is not necessarily the best teams who get to the later stages or even win it. It is the side who gets the breaks and who up their game for the 2 or 3 games which really matter. In 2014-15 we both got the breaks and upped our game for the semi-final against Celtic but otherwise struggled against lower ranked sides - yet we still won the cup! This season we needed a replay to get past Edinburgh City but then upped our game against 2 sides above us in the league. Hearts will be firm favourites to win, and in a season when the Scottish Cup would seem to be their most likely route to European football, there will be huge expectation for them to win. All the pressure will be on them. If they don't have the game comfortable relatively early they will get more and more anxious. The stage is set for an upset! However, let's not get too upset if the reality is that we get blown away. At the start of the season, getting into the semis would have been a distant dream. With the club's financial situation there have had to be significant cuts to the playing budget and Robbo and his team have done brilliantly to both get us into the play off positions in the league and to get to the semi-final of the Scottish Cup. Come what may, let's just enjoy an unexpected trip to Hampden and cheer our lads on to the end. They deserve no less.

  12. Let's give him the benefit and wish him all the best for the new role. Perhaps he can be "the one"

  13. He certainly has experience in a number of roles at various clubs, and has been in discussion with us for a few weeks. Might be good for both parties - new challenge off the beaten track for him and a fresh appraisal of the situation we are in. Over the years we have been a happy hunting ground for players and managers to come here and prove themselves - perhaps mr Gardiner will do likewise.

  14. This isn't fair at all. His role at Rangers was as Commercial Sales Manager, so he'll have had nothing to do with their admin/liquidation. He joined both Dundee and Hearts after their spells in adminstration.

  15. I can hardly believe that an ICT fan would forgo watching his team at Hampden because of the SFA and their awful policies. Some of our players may never have played there before, and may never play there again. Such occasions make memories to be savoured for all concerned, young and old. I was too ill to attend the final in 2015 but have great memories of the semi final - wonderful David Raven goal. I hope all going to Hampden on Saturday have a great time, no matter the result - such are days out following ICT - come on Caleyaway. Raise the roof- make plenty noise.

  16. We got home to Aberdeen from the game at 11:45pm after stopping in Glasgow for dinner and was too tired to post about about the game. Rig and Caley Stan pretty much sums it all up above and through hard work, grit and endeavour we came through with the three points. For all that Ayr had the ball in the second half I can't recall ever feeling like they were truly threatening us and the few saves Ridgers made were very comfortable. 4-4-2 for me doesn't work in terms of the style of play I like to see and we were over-run in midfield, it was noticeable that Polworth was not happy with something that Scott Kellacher said to him in the first half and it continued all through the second half. When Donaldson went down injured the team were over at the dugout, SC discussing stuff with them and it was notable from a few players body language that they didn't agree. Not sure that he was actually encouraging them although he did seem to try and reconcile with Polworth at the end of the game as they walked off but Polworth still wasn't happy. Saying that regards formation, we did what we needed to do and got a massive three points. Donaldson was superb for me until he went off injured, we stayed outside the main stand after the match and when he came out he didn't look good at all, was limping very heavily with very limited movement. Had they had crutches with them I reckon he would have been using them, it's probably just as well he's suspended next week. White deserves huge praise for coming into the game and for me looked much better after Austin went off, he seemed to know better where to be and enjoyed being the only focal point. For someone who looked very clumsy at the start of the season he's really come on and his touch and control in the last 20mins just proved that. Gets a lot of bad press for doing the ugly work but he done exactly what was asked of him, spoke to him briefly after the match and he said that it was a hard shift but a huge three points. Big shout out to the players afterwards outside when they were getting on the bus: we waited outside the ground to try and get photos for MissCaleyjag and they were superb with her; White, Walsh, Ridgers, Mckay, Chalmers and Robbo and I've never seen a kid look so happy to get her photo taken with complete strangers. They really made her day to top off her first game.

  17. We are the form team in the top four with 4 wins in the last 6 games, so no reason why we can't go into the run-in with confidence.

  18. The chair, secretary and myself as vice-chair of the Supporters Trust had a meeting on Friday with the Graham Rae and Gordon Fyfe. It was the first time that representatives of the new Supporters Trust Board had formally met with the Chairman and we had a very useful meeting. There was no specific agenda but we spent the time chatting around a variety of issues and developing an understanding of how the Trust and supporters generally can link in and help with the work of the club. They certainly seem keen to have our active input. The Chairman felt that meetings every 4 to 6 weeks seemed appropriate and for these to have specific outcomes identified so that it becomes a channel for getting things done and not just a talking shop. That is a very welcome response from our perspective. On a wider supporter basis, Gordon Fyfe will be trying to arrange a second "SLO" meeting with fans to which anybody would be welcome to come along and discuss any issues of concern. Hopefully that will happen before the end of the season. The Trust has a been doing a bit of work behind the scenes on a few issues. This includes working on providing better match day facilities for our disabled supporters, developing a survey for fans to feedback about the matchday experience and organising an end of season party at the ground as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations. More detail on these will follow soon.

  23. While I appreciate this is an attempt at humour and to hopefully lighten the mood of the post, I'm not sure it's needed especially given what this young lad has probably had to endure. In fact I'm quite shocked at the lack of replies to this thread given so many people had so much to say about his where about on the other recently closed thread.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.
