  1. I expected us to be in the postion we are in at this point of the season. Loitering around mid-table. What i'am pleased about is that given how financially strapped we are we have now assembled a decent team with a good understanding of each other. Though i would question the capability of some players brought in over the summer and they which they were assesed. We won't get promoted and but i would at least like to see us in the top 4 at the end of the season.

As a player he is past his best but he is still capable and his experience could be key for some of our younger players. We could also have a great coach and potential young manager in the ranks so it could be a great move, should we have the funds and space. He wants to stay in the highlands, he loves the club, we need experince and a leader in the side, though i am aware his better days are beyond him, its a win, win situaution. Yes.
  3. Esson Proctor, Bulvitis, Munro, Djebi-Zadi Hayes, Duff, Cox, Sanchez Foran, Rooney subs: Allison, Imrie, McBain, Duncan, Odhiambo
  4. Just back and can't believe we didn't win by at least 5 or 6. It is safe too say that Raith didn't get a sniff at all. The fog made it difficult too see there area in the first half but by what you could see it was a good finish from Rooney at the near post with his left foot. Hayes free kick had it gone in would have been fabulous. 2nd half was more of the same. We dominate. Eric and Hayes were causing problems as was Sanchez and Duff and Cox both linked up well with others. There goalie made some superb saves. The one from Cox was birlliant reaction stop and Cox also hit the post. Really efficent performance to say the least and if we are as solid as we looked and that includes Lionel who also played well then we can finish strongly. Eagle came on and gave the ball away a few times but he also sent in a dangerous cross towards the end. Stratford even managed to make a contribution today...he ran down the last few seconds on the clock when he came on for Hayes.

His contract is up at the end of the season but given the length of his loan by the time it expires the transfer market will have opened so we may extend it, should he play well and i hope he does.

Lets see how he gets on then...hope he does a good job for us. http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/0,,10447,00.html This should be moved out of the rumour mill now, shoudln't it?
  7. What game was that and when? It was a BB's 7-A-side outdoor league game. I can't remember who against. It was at the Bught park in the summer of 2003.
  8. It's time to blood some youngsters yes. But the club probably still think that we have a slim chance of claiming top spot therefore they are going to use all the best players they have at their disposal. It is dissapointing but it is the way it is. When we were pushing for survival last year the likes of Vigurs, Zander and Gillesipie were all shoved away never to be seen again so that we could use all established senior players. Come next season we will have another very different team and probably a new manager who's philosaphy on football may be very different and may well see the development of some younger players as the forward.

I like the idea but TB would never accept it. However your are right in saying Grassa is a fair bit out of his depth, it has been that way for sometime now.

  11. whoah. All heating up in Dumfries.
  12. woo hoo!! Well done Johnny.
  13. My guess is. Esson Proctor, Bulvitis, Munro, LDZ Hayes, Duncan, Cox, Foran Odhiambo Rooney. Or something along those lines.
  14. Well done Johnny. Hope he continues to impress.
  15. Good too see Odi playing and i hope Lionel has a good game. Odd that he has 3 left sided players on the bench. Though McBain can play in a few places.

Good luck to Lionel tomorrow. As a fan he has my full support and i hope he plays well. The stick he recieves is totally unnecessary at times and i hope it dosen't get him tomorrow at all as it will affect his performance.
  17. I'd be happy to see Proctor drop back into RB and put Cox back into the side to see if he can get his form back. Straford played at RB against Montrose and he was awful there.

The rebuilding started after relegation and given the current financial situation it will probaby be a repeated cycle until get promoted again. The longer we languish in the 1st division, the more changes will be made at the end of each season in terms of playing and managerial staff.
  19. The last time we played this lot in the scottish cup was when Bazza scored one of the greatest goals ever. Hoping for a bit of the same.
  20. My BB's team were 5-0 down, we clawed it back to 5-5 before we conceded again and lost our goalie to injury but we grabbed an equaliser and got a 6-6 draw.

With a bit of development and good luck i think Nauris could be a good centre half for us. He has had his moments i grant but he has also shown his good attributes such as his determination and his ability at set pieces. Defnitely keep him.

I will also give a say in this. The atmosphere was superb and it clearly matched the 1st half performance. I would attend Inverness games like that every day if i could with that kind of passion going about. I loved it.
  23. Half time came at the most inconvenient time and unfortunately it allowed the tempo to drop from us. Would have said keep up the attacking play but i would have got the full-backs to stay back as their 1st goal came from Golly missing a chance and not having the legs to get back. Jocky's players started to use the width of the park and Hart, Harkins and Griffiths exploited it leaving Tokers and what used to be Stuart Golabek standing.
  24. AJS replied to fraser's topic in Caley Thistle
Esson Tokely, Bulvitis, Munro, Golabek Proctor, Duncan Hayes, Sanchez, Foran Rooney Subs: Allison, Stratford, Imrie, Cox, Odhiambo In other words keep it the same. I'd keep Douglas on the bench for the full 90 however unless desprately required.
  25. The 1st half was the greatest half of football i have seen from a Caley side in years. It was perfect. We could have easily been 5-0 up and why didn't the Bul's first goal count??? Hayes, Sandshoes, Foran and Rooney kicked the crap out of Dundee in the 1st half. The 2nd half was a crash down to our usual ways. Abysmal at the back, crappy punts forward to nowhere and Tokely getting caught ball watching at diagonal passes. The first 2 goals were extremely avoidable while the 3rd from where i was sitting looked offside. Terrible result and in the end terrible afternoon of football but it was great ti be there with loads of fans i knew and the 1st half was a sign that we have what it takes to do well this year. Just have to learn to keep it going for 90 minutes. Keep the faith.
