Beware the Trojan Horse that is Billy Dodds. Presumably he predicted Dundee would win the league and this is his final dirty trick.
-
No - Ross County's standards have risen and the millionaires of the game - Moyes included - do not like upstart challenges. Ross County were an absolute credit to the Highlands and the First Division. It has been a poor season for Scotland in Europe but perhaps as many as 75% of the country hope Dundee United finish second in the league and wake the old firm up. Rangers with ?30m of debt should be a club being challenged next year. Perhaps marginal equalisation was the phrase Moyes meant.

From the Dundee message board Posted - 10 April 2010 : 17:00:00 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well done lads, great to prove a point against Partick and Mr McCall. What an inspired substitution by Chisholm, Clarke was only on for a matter of seconds and he scores with his first touch. Great win lads and two on the bounce. Although ICT got a win today, we are doing what we need to do and I am still sure that ICT will drop points. Remember ICT only need to drop two points as long as Dundee win their games and game in hand, so the race is still not over yet. Just shows how critical it is for us to beat Dunfermline. Few thought they would recover from 2-0 down in the Alba Final but they did - still a long way to go. Whoever plays this weekend, has to play top drawer.

Roy ran a good race in the Inverness Half Marathon but will be lacking match fitness. He does deserve a final game for ICT because has been a great servant. However, loyalty is not what wins Championships. It will be interesting if Bully is recalled because clearly Terry and Maurice lost faith in him after re-signing him in January. Lionel has been off male modelling. No one knows where he is currently. However, just in case we get cocky before the game, here is a dismal reminder of why we must not fail (two near misses will be hard to take): P W D L F A Dif Pts 1 Rangers 38 26 08 04 77 28 49 86 2 Celtic 38 24 10 04 80 33 47 82 3 Hearts 38 16 11 11 40 37 03 59 4 Aberdeen 38 14 11 13 41 40 01 53 5 Dundee Utd 38 13 14 11 47 50 -03 53 6 Hibernian 38 11 14 13 42 46 -04 47 7 Motherwell 38 13 09 16 46 51 -05 48 8 Kilmarnock 38 12 08 18 38 48 -10 44 9 Hamilton 38 12 05 21 30 53 -23 42 10Falkirk 38 09 11 18 37 52 -15 38 11St Mirren 38 09 10 19 33 52 -19 37 12InvernessCT38 10 07 21 37 58 -21 37 It should act as a warning for Aberdeen if they lose to Falkirk on Saturday. MacGhee has been boldly predicting that he does not expect Aberdeen to be relegated. We were almost there last year but missed out by the slenderest of margins.

Dunfermline have overcome some considerable problems this year and are potentially the best team in the league at present with available resources. Despite their long list of injuries and suspensions they have had a great season and next Saturday will be formidable opponents. We may have relegated them from the SPL so they will seek to stick the knife in. We were very lucky to beat them on the first day of the season and then have had two very tough games against them. Remember that everyone laughed at County. This is not the team to underestimate especially with Grant out of the line up. County too would like to laugh at ICT whilst Dundee sit waiting to pounce.

TRANSPORT PROBLEMS FOR COUNTY - ANY PICTURES?

In dublin's fair city, where girls are so pretty We first set our eyes on Rooney, Hayes and Forlan They wheeled a wheel-barrow, through streets broad and narrow Crying: cockles and Mussels a-live, a-live oh Alive, a-live oh, a-live a-live oh Crying,. cockles and mussels a-live, a-live oh Richie was a womaniser, and sure 'twas no wonder For so were his father and brother before And they both wheeled their barrow, through streets broad and narrow Crying: cockles and Mussels a-live, a-live oh Alive, a-live oh, a-live a-live oh Crying,. cockles and mussels a-live, a-live oh He died of a fever, and no one could save him And that was the end of sweet Richie Forlan But his ghost wheels his barrow, through defences broad and narrow Crying: cockles and Mussels a-live, a-live oh

First of all, good luck to County. You have made a mighty attempt this year to come out of our shadaow and we wish you well tomorrow. With your team getting all the publicity we can quietly go about our business. However, given previous scoops on this site, I was wondering if any ICT supporters had mobile phone or other footage of the latest transport problems to afflict our neighbours: ''Ross County are to be cheered on by 7,000 fans in its game against Celtic - 2,000 more people than the estimated population of the club's home town. County have subsidised a fleet of buses to take supporters from Dingwall after plans to hire a train were abandoned.''

If we beat QOS and Foran, Rooney and Hayes score the goals, I predict ICT will sign these players on long term contracts and enter into a sponsorship deal for the same time with Paddy Power. The two are a perfect combination.

Are County and QoS now out of the title push?
CELTIC1CALEY3 replied to MorayJaggie's topic in Caley Thistle
This time last year few believed ICT would slide through the relegation trap door. Terry kept saying we are almost there (to safety) but we never arrived. Dundee seem determined to win 5 out of 5 after a revitalised performance last Saturday. Ross County might well do a Caley against Celtic next Saturday but even if they fail they will be tired and eventually face 4 games in 8 days. They have performed brilliantly this season but the odds are currently against them. QOS have nothing to lose this Saturday and all to gain. A win will give them belief, it will give them a great scalp, and it will perk Chisholm up at Dundee in the same way Yogi was not phased by having to beat ICT at the Tulloch Station on the last day of the season. Some time back the ICT players indicated they could not afford to lose any further games if they were to get back into the title race. Whilst there is confidence in the team there must also be tension and therefore the long journey to Dumfries this Saturday is one where a draw or win are the most critical results almost in our history. No other games this season matter. -
Spot on post. George Adams and Derek are basically lining themselves up for the Aberdeen jobs.
-
This will be the first time in derby history that we play County just before they take on Celtic in the Semi Final of the Cup and therefore it may be the last chance we have of saying good luck in the Final. Good luck to the Staggies in the Final - we hope you win the Cup and become the first Highland Team in Europe.
-
?The lads really looked like they wanted it today'' : Brian Kerr Captain of Dundee after the County draw. Dundee will be motivated like hell, Ross County will be motivated like hell, we have to be motivated like hell and back. Rossco and Russell need to be on their best behaviour and we do not want Lionel impressing Terry in training!

Dundee's relentless march to the title.....
CELTIC1CALEY3 replied to tm4tj's topic in General Football
Yes this could be the time that Dundee regroup. They will feel they threw it away today and if they get a result at Dunfermline on Tuesday will feel the tide has turned while everyone in Inverness was looking the other way having got prematurely pished. -
No complacency between now and the end of the season. No patronising Dundee or any team. No underestimating any team.
-
If the supporters are chanting we are going to win the league that normally is the kiss of death but now that Scotty has capitulated I hope we do not go to sleep in the second half and allow McCall his moment of gloating glory. The fact that Steve Lovell gave up just before the game against us does though augur well.
-
Do not write off Dunfermline, QOS, Partick, Dundee or Ross County or underestimate Raith, Ayr and Moreton at our peril! We lost the fight last year because Big Ter wanted safety too soon instead of taking each game to the wire and fighting to the end. This is a very tough league.
-
As Dunfermline sneaked up Partick have regrouped. McCall was clearly offered the Dundee job ahead of the Dynamic Duo so will be focussed on the slim chance Partick have of promotion. They actually have five tough games at home after screwing up Dunfermline last night so this Saturday is massive for ICT - again. Years ago at Clyde, a good group of Partick's supporters joined with us in the away end which was quite remarkable. This time they will be out in force to claim our scalp. Hopefully we keep our feet on the ground after last nights result and do not underestimate a team seeking revenge for the result in ICT and feeling good for stopping the Dunfermline charge.
-
Dunfermline have 5 wins out of 6 - that is style. They are strong in away games and despite lots of injuries are sneaking up.
-
Football is played on grass, not noticeboards. The club are focussed to try and get results and keep very quiet about it. Airdrie are probably quietly plotting too! It the boys win tomorrow, things will be quiet before every other game. We learnt a painful lesson last year.
-
The last thing we want is complacency. Ross County away is massive. Airdrie at home massive. Partich away massive. County at home massive. We have to keep winning against the odds. Dundee still have a four point cushion but the greatest motivator should not be them but Dunfermline, Ross County and QOS chasing everyone down.
-
If Golly is suspended Roy showed today he has good fitness for the full back position! http://www.chiptiming.co.uk/pdf/100314InvernessHM.pdf Position 55th!
-
Ross County must have a great chance of beating Hibs - they hate travelling up the A9 because they rarely scored against ICT let alone scraped anything. Driving over the Kessock Bridge will be a trip to far and I expect County to triumph. This season County look pretty formidable opponents at Victoria Park. So if they beat Hibs and draw Raith Rovers in the Semi and do not underestimate them, would thousands of ICT supporters get tickets for the final and support their top class neighbours?
-
If I could influence fight and spirit on the ICT side it would be to drown out supporters from now until the last whistle patronising other teams. Complacency set in at Dens when supporters sung ''its so f***** easy and can we play you every week''. That inspired Dundee. Against QOS the support was positive to the end and Richie's late goal line clearance epitomised the must win spirit right to the end. We do not want the team to run out of steam in any game until the final whistle goes and that's where we need sensible supporting. Some of us recall the great escape after the penalty at Clyde when Hislop scored the late winner. Support that day was magnificent and we need more of that.
-
8 wins would be quite remarkable. Cloughie would have imposed a complete mass media blackout and just knocked off the 8 precious wins. It's now or never for us to beat the wevver.
