  1. I was hearing that the Irish have found a precedent in that Uzbekistan v Bahrain was ordered to be replayed a few years ago, but I've no idea what happened there. If a missed handball were sufficient to require a replay, ICT would have Butcher buggering off over to Mexico for a rematch with Maradona.
  2. Agreed, but at least France are more likely to do that. Remember 0-1 to 2-1 in injury time? :004:
  3. That's easy. Whoever happens to be playing England!
  4. Just this final P But what if it was ICT v Dunfermline? :004:
  5. So has Ossie Ardiles. Predictable but unbelievable all the same.
  6. There's now a 15 minute video interview with him on BBC. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/8367075.stm
  7. Ideas requiring proof of age, identity etc are very impractical unfortunately. Invitation only? I suppose that could be achieved by creating an invitation only forum that only the "best" posters can access. It has its merits, but there are obvious downsides of creating a two-tier site, alienating those not selected to join.
  8. Ireland have stolen Scotland's "heroic failures" crown, leaving us as mere failures.
  9. Good to hear the the service from the staff shop remains absolutely excellent. So was Mike Smith right that cost savings could be made here?
  10. I take it you are not going to the final then?!
  11. The P&B complaints forum has been mentioned a couple of times. It has its merits in allowing users to air their views on what is acceptable, but the downsides are: - the users seldom agree on whether a complaint is valid or not. - a lot of people here would be reluctant to post or comment on a public complaints forum when their view is out of line with others How do you overcome those issues?
  12. I've been on a mesoamerican ballgame pitch/court. No idea how they scored into the basket without using their hands, it was pretty high up! They told us that losing captain got decapitated, and the walls round the court were certainly carved with heads being chopped, complete with carved spurting blood. Nice. "Erm, right guys, we lost again. Who wants the honour of being new captain? Anyone? Hello?"
  13. Ah yes, Sophia may have left our world, but I'm sure he will forever be looking down on us. (He's not dead, just very condescending!)
  14. That'll be one of those "no cancellations" special rates!
  15. The whole transfer is declared null and void, and Niculae comes back to play for us? If R_I continues to live up to his name, I would sincerely hope that the club know what they are doing here. Surely? Please?
  16. Well it's been getting a lot of press coverage, so unless the players can add illiteracy to their long list of shortcomings....
  17. When discovering Dundee women, its best not to look at all.
  18. There's one of those family pubs there, used to be called Brewsters in fact. The staff were badly organised and completely demotivated. And you had to take your shoes off. Thankfully a change of management soon followed.
  19. Think we got about ?30,000 for Proc and then got him back for a fraction of that.
  20. I have some recollection that a few years ago we came close to bringing in a keeper from Arsenal on loan. The deal apparently fell apart when we refused to offer a guaranteed starting place. Can anyone remember who the keeper was, and when this happened?
  21. There was some Romanian chap who we apparently got some Euros for. And we sold David Proctor to Dundee Utd. Not sure where he is now. Most of the players we have lost were at the end of their contracts and either had something lined up elsewhere (eg Dods) or were not wanted by the club (most of the youngsters).
  22. It'll probably say "Former Scotland Assistant Manager" !
  23. Which probably means, like most jobs in Ireland, it's actually funded by the EU!
  24. The salary has been reported as being in the region of ?300,000 + bonuses. Clearly that is not going to attract the top tier of managers. But it is still a remarkable salary for picking the team 10 or so times a year, when the Prime Minister runs the country every waking hour, for less than ?200k.
  25. You mean Jimmy Calderwood? :010:
