  1. Not surprising. As TB seems hell bent on getting rid of most of the young players produced by the youth system anyway, perhaps he sees it as expendable.
  2. I'm still gobsmacked that our new manager let them go, (especially Vigurs), apparently with little attempt at keeping them. Hope he knows what he's doing. To me they seemed exactly the type of players who would have benefitted with a season or two in SFL. Now they'll get this experience with County. I sincerely hope we don't regret it.
  3. Can't argue with that! I must say Obi really looked useful in his short stint v Falkirk. Very worthwhile holding on to.
  4. What about Tony Mowbery back to Hibs? They could do a lot worse.
  5. Yet again, many thanks Gringo, for another enjoyable competition, efficiently run as usual.
  6. I had a similar experience with Tiscali a year or so ago, wrong bills, multiple accounts etc etc. I used to have to spend at least an hour on the phone to them every month to get things straight, despite their assurances that it would be all right 'next' month. Eventually I too tracked down the Chief Executive's office address and wrote direct to her. I had a reply from some senior customer relations manager with a full apology and six months free phone/internet charges as compensation. And fair play to them, I didn't get another bill for six months, since when it has been OK. You need to complain at the highest level possible to get things done.
  7. They had a good challenge, and failed, when it was well within their grasp to achieve it. Next season will be even harder.
  8. Another surprising decision by big Tel. Surely Vigurs is exactly the type of player to keep, young, great potential, and relatively inexpensive. Is the glitter beginning to fade from Tel's halo now I wonder. Speaking personally, I think that he made some surprising team selections (positional) after the split, which directly contributed to our dismal performances (in the last two games at least), and therefore to our relegation. This after being virtually safe 3 games ago. However it seems to most ICT fans that Tel is above criticism. They should speak to one of my friends who is a Brentford fan.
  9. Well done Burnley, and Owen Coyle in particular. When we played them in the pre season friendly, who'd have predicted the differing fortunes of the two clubs at season's end?
  10. Personally, I wouldn't bring back anyone who had left ICT, for whatever reason. Especially Bayne. OK, he's a grafter, but he just doesn't score goals, even in Div 1!
  11. Agree 100%. Not that most people's idol, big Tel, will be blamed at all. However, in truth, over the season, we just were not SPL quality.
  12. Agree about Barrowman,Rooney and Odhiambo, but I wouldn't touch the other 3, purely because I don't think you can ever go back. Just remember their time at ICT fondly.
  13. Agree. Imrie was his usual greedy self and Lionel was an utter joke. I shuuder to think how many of other teams goals have come down our left and for me today also highlighted the that we NEED a goalscorer. I tend to agree about Imrie, and yes, we've needed a goal scorer all season. But to say Lionel was gash today is just stupid. What game were you watching ffs. He made several good clearances, and the odd foray forward. All the defence was stretched after Tokeley's sending off but Lionel was no worse than any of the others. He seems to have become an easy target for many so called supporters who are either too blinkered or too stupid to watch a game objectively.
  14. What a massive disappointment. Now the recriminations will start. Everyone will be blamed - the board, the previous manager, etc etc. In truth, we haven't been SPL standard most of the time. In fact I think we'll struggle against the likes of Dunfermline and Dundee next season. Doubt if we'll be serious contenders for promotion for a while. Could even be, that at my age, I'll not see ICT in the top flight again. Anyway, at least I'll have many happy memories. Growing up in Inverness in the 50s, the chances of seeing top division football in Inverness were about the same as sending a man to the moon. Yet both happened. So I'll try and remain optimistic. But right now, all I want to do is cry!
  15. I'm just off to watch the match on Setanta with 2 English pals I've 'converted' over the years. I've never felt this nervous, even before the St J game a few years ago. GOOD Luck to all the team, management and supporters.
  16. ffs IHE you're going soft. Never thought I'd hear you admit you might have been wrong.
  17. That's what I've worked out too. Not very likely, so I'm afraid we just mustn't lose to Falkirk.
  18. IHE Is it possible because the guy is French, the quote you are making such a big thing of, which he made, in English, is not quite the way he intended it to be? How's your French, btw? And, just how many goals has he, solely, been responsible for? Then compare that to any of Munro, Tokeley, Fraser, Essen, Proctor and probably all the other defenders. Is there much of a difference? I think not. You, IHE, were one of Hastings biggest critics. At least you personally are not advocating his return, favouring as you do, McBain, at left back. But I do find it laughable that so many others are pushing for Hastings to get back in. Don't get me wrong, I think Hastings has been a great servant to ICT, but, in my view he has been found lacking this season, even before his injury. Clearly Butcher, unlike IHE, doesn't fancy McBain at left back, so imo he has had no choice but to give Lionel an extended run. He was very brave to start him at left back against Celtic, after his poor showing against Partick, but Lionel overall has not let him down, and I would be surprised if he didn't stick with him for the rest of the season.
  19. Well said Caley D. I feel many of our fellow supporters are too quick to jump on Lionel's errors, and completely ignore those of others. Maybe watching on Setanta gives me a slightly different perspective, but I thought today, although maybe not his best performance, he was certainly no worse than Munro (as you said), who isn't being hounded by our colleagues. Lionel has had some cracking games for us since he established himself in the side, and I don't see him letting us down in the run in, any more than anyone else might.
  20. Motherwell 2 up v St midden can only be good news for us. Hope Killie put it over the Bairns today too. Then a win for us tomorrow and we can start to relax!. Here's hoping!
  21. Boo hoo. Poor Chelsea's prima donnas throw their toys out of the pram. Grow up ffs.
  22. As a neutral, frankly, I'm glad Chelsea are out. Man U v Barca will be a much better final. Whatever one thinks of the referee, Drogba's (and others) antics at the end were out of order. Until we get video replays for things like penalty decisions, the referee's decision, which he has to make in a flash, is always going to be contentious and prone to error.
  23. I like the current home strip, and the 04/05 white away strip is my favourite.
