  2. I see that our ex penalty taker scored the only goal of the game for Birmingham this afternoon.

  3. Apart from the first 5-10 mins of the Second Half we weren't in it. That is why it is so frustrating that this is when the ref chose to intervene in the result of the game. As soon as Ross put in his tackle I was shouting what a tackle it was but the prat in the yellow decided go on Rangers have this on me. The second was also not a penalty. You see the Rangers player not even looking at the ball seeing where Tom was then falls like he has been shot. He then gets MOTM! We were poor but Rangers fans must be very worried about their season also. How many saves did Ryan have to make?

  4. what annoys me is that there is no goalscoring opportunity when essons protecting our goal!!!

  5. There should be a distinction between plain cheating where a defender prevents a player from scoring by simply taking him out when he knows he can't get the ball, and a genuine attempt at getting the ball which takes the player rather than the ball. The distinction is pretty clear in the vast majority of situations. Even if the referee genuinely thought Tokely had fouled Naysmith today he surely would not dispute that Tokely went for the ball. We can feel hard done by with the decision today but these things tend to even out over the course of the season - Celtic will get just as many dubious decisions as Rangers will.

  6. Did anyone else find it ironic when the Gers fans chanted 'thats why we're champions' just after their second penalty? The referee was a joke but we shouldn't let that distract us from our own shortcomings. Rangers were woeful today but we hardly put them under any pressure at all. The defense isn't organized (Grant Munro?), the midfield is lacking bite (Russel Duncan?) and our forwards aren't getting into goal scoring positions (Rooney). Tudor Williams looks the part but his workrate is seriously lacking, hopefully just a lack of match fitness otherwise we might have another Barrowman on our hands. Hogg needs to start using his head. Far too many needless fouls and aimless clogs into touch or empty space. Is he better than Grant Munro? I'm not convinced. Esson has been a rock but he needs to be more vocal in organizing the defense like Tuffey. Foran needs to stop bitching all the time and get on with the game. End of rant.

  7. The Rangers game was the first time I have seen Tade and quite frankly he got no service in 90 mins. In the rare opportunity he got, he held the ball well and looked for opportunities. Why can't we pass out of defence? This long ball game just makes Tade the front defender becasue as soon as we get posession, we kick it long to the opposition defenders. Tudor-Jones is in the same boat. he is probably a good midfielder, trouble is we don't know because the ball sails over his head. I don't think the players are the problem, the tactics or lack thereof are the problem.

  8. May I offer my humble apologies to all those I have offended by voicing such ridiculous opinions - you can rest assured I will try my very best not to do so again and I promise to continue to read some of the amazing drivel posted elsewhere on this site by those with greater expertise than I?? Yours truly etc .................

  9. Not an error or oversight at all. The point I'm making is that Celtic have reaped the benefits of having a lions share of the income from the league for years. When things were on the up they were happy enough to pedal the line that they were doing most for the "good of the game". Now that things are on the decline, they want to continue in that privileged position, even though they are the ones contributing most to the erse falling out of the game....both in hard number and % terms. The question is...Why, when they continue to receive a disproportionately high % of the finances are they doing least to prevent the decline? Would it not make more sense to divert at least some of those resources towards clubs where the decline is much slower...after all, they are making best use of the little they currently get. Even 3%, which is representative of the drop in Celtics share of the overall attendances for the period, divided up amongst the smaller clubs would give them all an extra couple of hundred thousand. Imagine what someone like ICT, who have actually grown attendances by 7% since getting in to the SPL, could do with that. The impact on Celtic? I doubt they'd notice it, and if they did then tough, they should have been thinking more about putting their success/income/privileged position to better use over the years to prevent/slow the decline they have witnessed.

  10. Dougal He's had one good game and one not so good. He didn't lose the game "single handedly" as you put it. This was a much better site without you, please go troll somewhere else.

  13. No need fer a red dot so sorted. Rooney's persisitence made the goal. I know a couple of Brummies who have been impressed by his performances but they question if he has the pace to make it in the Championship. Judging by TV clips he has been working hard in the Gym in pre season and suspect that pace off the mark will be high on the training regime priorities. Could Shane Sutherland be next ?

  14. So you washed up on the beach this morning - via the pipeline ? I take offence at the word "dud" as Wikepedia states that - "By extension, "dud" has become a slang word for anything that does not work or is defective". Can the word dud be altered to headless chicken please.

  15. Scratching my head a bit myself. The Inverness Courier have done a good spread on this event, with Scottish warriors over the last 2000 years and an ariel WW11 dog fight at Fort George. This event clashes with our game against Rangers and I wanted to point out on the ICT forum that the two events dont have to clash if you go on a Sunday. Seeing as theres also a Thread on dwindling numbers at games one would assume it would be common sense to remind people that it doesnt have to conflict with the Rangers game. I would assume the mods are busy and dont examine what the title of post is about and secondly the reason for the post.

  16. I wasn't at the game yesterday but saw the game on the garlic channel From what I saw I now have real concerns about this signing Is this guy a striker? It's not clear by yesterdays performance where or what position he was supposed to be deployed as!! You only have to read the views on pie and bovril from other clubs supporters to suss out that this guy isn't an Spl standard player Discuss dougal

  17. Watched dodgy stream online & we were poor against the worst rangers team in memory. After the offside goal, both teams looked like they would never score. Tade & Foran don't cut it at this level (will they play against a weaker back line again thus season) & Sutherland looked a bit better when he came on. As for all the talk about pens, on another day they may have had 4, but the 2 they got were poor decisions by a poor ref, he "made up" for them later on by not sending Tansey off, but by then the game was well gone. Next week is critical with points a must. Fancy the team that ended + Doran as the starting line up.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”

    • Kelty Hearts Training Statement
What a farce we have become, a laughing stock: Did you hear the one about the footbal team from the Highlands of Scotland that want to train at Cowdenbeath? Unfortunately, unlike our board, this is not a joke. Our board are trying to rip our identity from the Highlands and replace it with shared training at Kelty Hearts. I kid you not, this is not a drill and the clowns that run our club appear to be delighted at this coup.

    • Relegation Statement
RELEGATION STATEMENT: This could have been said ten minutes after our defeat to Hamilton three days ago. So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better as fans.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.
