Now you're all probably thinking, 'why on earth are we talking about this just now?'...However next season will be our 20th year and I believe the fans should have a say in what the new strip should be like.

The current away shirt was designed after consultation with CJT and from what I've heard the final design was submitted as early as December 2012. This could mean that the club and CJT are already or are about to talk about our new home shirt for next year. So its paramount we get our views in as early as possible!

I created this topic so fans will be able to express what they would like the new shirt to be and so CJT and the club could see the fans views.

Also FC United of Manchester present their members with 4 different shirt designs every couple of seasons. The fans then get to vote for their favourite with the winning shirt being the new home/away shirt. Would the club and CJT be prepared to do this for our special 20th year?

Now, I would normally ask for simple blue and red even and vertical stripes like the 95/96 shirt. NO fancy swooshes or diagonal stripes. NO more blue than red or vice versa, 50% blue and 50% red. However with the current red and black striped away I would be open to an all blue shirt with red/black trim like our 94/95 first strip. Also I would like to see a return to white shorts like we had between 94-97.

Just aswell we dont play rugby haha.

The equal striped effort is the best imo. No fancy swooshes or zig zag lines. Plain and simple, equal stripes. Very classy imo

Middle one doesn't look to bad apart from the shorts and socks

How about having the type of finish which the police have where there are no defined edges, ie the pixles of one colour merge into the next. May give us an edge when the opponents need that little bit of extra time to judge the players distance.

the Errea strip designer is quite good - shame about the limited options though !! Try the rugby shirts Rene, or the casual gear... you'll get some weird and eclectic designs there !!!

What about some of these crackers?!

The middle one's pretty snazzy IMO!

Crackers?   aye- totally cream crackers  -  pysh, the 3 of them!

These are absolute SHARN!

It's what's inside the shirt that counts. Surely nobody supports a team because they like the shirts............or do they?

Not directly, but there's a lot to be said for creating an identity that people can buy in to.  Whilst the main focus of that identity should be on club values etc, (and I think ICT are strong in that regard) the visual element plays its part...especially for the younger generations.

I'm no fashionista by any stretch of the imagination but I'm sure I detected a recent trend for retro tops...bold, simple designs. Is that not the market telling us something?

Why oh why we need to over elaborate the shirt with blurred lines, swooshes and multi-patterns is beyond this grumpy old git. Probably keeps a few designers in white-framed spectacles mind you...

Rene's post #74 is pretty close to ideal without that daft shape on the back...but I'm not holding my breath.

Prefer the thicker stripes myself, but something like that would be good. Daft shape on the back is so that numbers are easier to see, so you are unlikely to get that removed.

Well it's evident that some people on here have absolutely no style at all!  I've come up with some more smashing efforts for you all to have a look at!

Well actually as a kid you find a lot of people's second team comes from seeing a really nice strip then gradually they start to like the team and become a fan

Purple home and grey away would be good.

Yer talents are wasted on this site mun,  better get a job as a window dresser in Nicols on Grant street...

All those examples may be chic in their current guise but add names and numbers and sponsors logo and they'll likely look naff

Retro - Retro - Retro please

Ideally I'd like to see the decision on the strip being taken democratically by fans. An official supporters club (something akin to the SSC) would be good.

That but with a black collar and sleeves. Nice and simple

Would love something like this

Well said mun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
