The sfa have issued Hughes with an order of complaint over comments he made about the ref Dallas. 

Why can refs who have a bad game not be criticised for it? So long as it's done in a measured manner. Hughes is one of the most humble managers out there and readily gives credit where it's due, including towards referees, so why can he not make honest critique when it's necessary. 

Maybe if refs spent more time taking constructive criticism on board and less time telling teacher they'd do a better job. 

Players get slaughtered for bad games. Managers slaughtered for bad selection. Why are refs immune?  

You put in a hell of a lot of work in to a week, in preparation for 90  minutes of football, in a business which is all about results, you feel decisions are going against you and straight after the whistle a microphone is shoved in your face. 

Perhaps be so complementary of the ref like he's so good Im expecting him to chuck on a pair of sandals and walk across the Firth to North Kessock. 

Pretty much the same comments he made after Dallas ruined the St Johnstone game last season, but no action then. What has changed?

If it wasn't for who his dad was, there is no way Dallas would be anywhere near the top flight. And why did it take the Compliance Officer more than 2 weeks to decide this needed a notice of complaint?

I suppose he could try rolling around on the grass crying out strongly that the ref was the best thing since sliced bread and he, John, had never seen such a magnificent performance etc, Then they couldn't nail him for being too critical or nasty and they couldn't prove "sarcasm" could they because that would attract criticism about their two-faces approach.

All in the tone of voice that John Cleese used to use in his Monty Python sketches which actually was hilarious as he ramped up the anti with heavily emphasised sarcastic remarks in louder and louder voice tones . 

Of course, some folk would be out to get him no matter what and would exhaust themselves by proclaiming that he was a nutter. Heh! Who cares?..sticks and stones will break your bones but names can never hurt you --the results on the park are what we care about and we could all then jump to his defence with more sarcastic remarks about the ref and have a field day in the papers. .....just a thought.

What happened with this? Neilson had his hearing on Oct 1st after being issued with a Notice of Complaint at the same time.

Was expecting Yogi to be in trouble again after the Dundee game last Saturday, as his post-match comments didn't exactly amount to a glowing reference for Colvin - criticiizing him for both penalties and the red card, and pointing out how poor he was the last time we had him.

This Compliance Officer thing is becoming even more of a farce (if that is even possible). If the charge is still active, why is it taking so long to have the hearing? If it has been dropped, why has that not been announced with the same fanfare as the original Notice of Complaint?

The Hughes case is supposed to be taking place today.

The 1 October hearing was postponed because Yogi had a dental appointment, it was then rescheduled for a couple of weeks ago but no reason was announced for that one not taking place either - hair stylist appointment, perhaps?

So today's the day. Will there be fireworks?

That seems fair enough to me. He has been round long enough to know the consequences of making that sort of comment.

Pretty laughable decision IMO. There seems to be far too much protection over referees in Scotland to prevent them from going on strike again - whatever happened to freedom of speech etc.

Dallas gets protection because of who he is. He is a pretty poor referee.

Don't sugar coat it. He's an abysmal referee far, far below the quality required to referee in the top league. 

What happened to the continental referees ?can't we use one who just happens to be on holiday.

What a week for integrity?

Oldco Rangers confirmed as involved in massive multi million pound tax evasion. Rangers newco to retain various titles obtained by Oldco Rangers during the dark years (subject to possible appeal in the tax case but if not, SFA revisiting its rules to check if massive tax evasion is a reason to take a sporting integrity decision). 

Yogi disciplined for being honest.

 

With Yogi suspended from the dugout tomorrow, what's the possibility of having Richie Foran standing in as replacement? I think it would be the perfect opportunity to see how he fares IMO. 

Failing that I would be more than happy with Brian Rice and Scott Kell taking charge.

Pretty much nil. When the Manager is unavailable, the Assistant Manager takes over and it would be nuts to do otherwise!

Don't suppose there is still a supply of the team 'face' masks that were available for the cup final with Yogi's face on lurking somewhere. Our fans could all wear them for the match at Motherwell to show support for him and to draw attention to the situation.

I'm actually quite pleased.  Means Hughes will get a far better view of the pitch than he would ordinarily and could thus see some of the issues we've been noticing of late.  Why managers spend all game in the dugout though anyway is beyond me.  You can't see anything down there!

I think there's an extremely bad parenting issue in this story, which no-one seems to have acknowledged!

Listened to Dallas Snr bragging that we had 2 referees amongst the "elite" level in Europe one of which is Collum, nuff said. It's not just us who thinks he is hopeless, the europeans think the same whenever they have been unfortunate enough to have him officiate. I don't believe most of these referees have ever kicked a ball in anger at any level and so are clueless when it comes to interpreting what has occurred. There's learning in the classroom and learning on the job most have never experienced the latter. Also listened to Jim Mcinally re our under 21s who reckoned none are ready to step up to the full international squad despite 4 years of "Elite" there's that word again coaching. That includes Christie who was anonymous in the last match and Gauld who got himself sent off.
