caley ultra group??

myself and afew of the boys up at the back of section G quite fancie starting an Ultra group.

i'm hoping you all know about how the old firm and aberdeen all have successful ultra groups and in recent months livingston, motherwell and even st mirren have started their own wee groups. so why can't we?? the whole point of having ultras is that they bring more colour and atmosphere to home games and support their team vocally throughout the whole 90 minutes. we're obviously not going to be huge but if some of the older fans would be willing to join in with the fun then i really think we could encourage some of the other "quiter fans" to join in, over time ofcourse.

at the moment we have a canada flag for **** hastings and a holland flag with Loyal Army on it. we're hopefully going to have some other flags and banners by the end of the season. also i've got a big TIFO flag bein organised to be made the now too.

i was also wondering if the moderators would be willing to open an ultra page so we have a place to discuss about "match displays" and making new flags/banners etc.

what does everyone else think??

  • I think the group are just waiting on some 'unique' T-Shirts to be made.

  • Hi,   I've been involved with the HF05 ultras at crystal palace, and have volunteered for them. Sorry to bring back a 7 year old thread, but has anything come from this??

I hate the chant Loyal Army, the only other club that uses it is Rangers because it has loyalist connotations.  Caley Army is so much better.

Why do we need to have an ultras group?  Why do we need to call them the ultras, why not just call them Section G?

Or does that title mean so much to everyone?  Just to say that they are an Ultra?

If we had our very own "loyal army" here, would that encourage the Rangers support in this area, to come to us in instead of heading for Ibrox..?

:024:

How about we set up an Irish section while we're at it..?

:023:

Spot on Caleyd, ( pardon the pun ), that top flag should be adopted by the club asap. :021:

But could everyone drop the Ultras thing, not a name we want linked to our club.

I would prefer something like Caley Commandos, should please IHE anyway!

I think I've a good name for your group.  As it is in Section G what about the "G Spot"?

Nah, no good. We'd never find them.....

I like the idea, but would have to agree with some others, that another name would maybe be better.

Good on ya,

Have you looked on the Football Heaven Website, they have got Red and Blue Checked flags + Sampdoria Flags.

Maybe something to get you started.

How about JACALS as apossible name? I'll get my coat.

I do think this is a good idea but please please please drop all references of the word loyal and if possible not the dutch flag - I'm sure you guys have more imagination than that.

Best of luck - hope to hear you soon.

whats wrong with an ultra group??

if it motivates more people in producing a better atmosphere i don't see what the problem is.

also we aint decided on a name for the group yet and we defo decided it wouldnt be loyal army cause we knew how much of a fuss it would cause 4 u fuddy-duddys  :016:. i was thinking along the lines of "BRIDGE END ULTRAS" because it includes the whole north Stand not just section G.

there was a crackin flag on the caleyjags site one time when we were at hampden - cant remember which time but i think we had the south stand that time.  not sure who had it but think it might have been guys from either dundee or edinburgh - no idea who they were or if they're still about.  maybe someone can have a wee look and post it and see what folk think?

and i know that some of the other 'ultra' groups have a paypal account set up so that when they plan big displays folk can donate to the costs...  but remember - you need to do these things right!

as for the name?  ultras is fine with me...  :003:

I reckon that if this turns out to be a good idea some people should think about setting other groups around the ground to create a more all round atmosphere like what the Toronto fans have done.

great idea to be honest - a die hard group of supporters is always welcome at the club nothing better than a full 90 mins of singing, i love the section G guys for keeping the atmosphere and do join in with most the chants - I ain't a real ''G'' boy though  :019:

Count me in to anything ur doin  :001:

U dont have to be in section G to join in though!!

Thats why im for Bridge End Supras  :clapping03:

Would love it if loads more people joined in!    :023:

I'll join.

Why adopt the flag of another country. Design your own using all four colours. CaleyD has the rights of it but just not enough red and black :023:

Red and blue seems to be coming to the fore as the predominant colours now and if colours are limited then printing becomes cheaper. Make it simple but make it stand out.

thats exactly what i've got arranged alex. i'm making a blue, red, blue striped tifo flag. it's pretty big not huge like th ones you see on youtube but still pretty sizeable  :003:

Nice one c4l. Good to know that youngsters still make things. Have you thought about where you're going to display this banner.

We could hang it at the front of the stand as long as it wasnt covering advertisments, mabye the failings at the front?

I got mine from www. Barmy flags..the guy is a lot of help
