So what's up with our captain? First it was Grant who's game suffered when he was made captain, now it's Foran. Foran looks a shadow of the player he was in the last couple of seasons. He was always one of battlers and fighters in our team, but this season i've noticed him offer little in the way of support to our young players. Instead he seems very quick to criticise them. Is the responsibility to much for him, or has he never recovered fully from his stomach injury at the end of last season. Also if he's such an influential player then why has Butcher taken him off so often in recent games?3 points

To the loyal fans who go to near enough every game, home or away, or who've been buying season tickets for the last 5 years or more and have spent ridiculous amounts of money on supporting the club through thick and thin. The real fans.3 points

I don't see why they should be suspended. They were having what they believed was, and should have been, a private conversation and it should have been nobody else's business. I would say it was a far bigger crime to record someone without them knowing, and even worse to then place that recording in the public domain where they knew it would cause offence. There's not a person alive who doesn't hold a thought, view, opinion or who has made a comment in jest which someone else may find offensive. Should people be allowed to record us at will and place those views in public without our consent? Not justifying sexist opinions or views, but are these guys really sexist or were they just having a joke based around a "stereotype"...you know, in much the same way as we've all had a laugh at a Scotsman, Englishman & Irishman joke which played heavily on stereotype? We don't know and, given the circumstances, I think it would be dangerous to judge.2 points

Malpas at centre half? MALPAS AT CENTRE HALF?! This is just so typical of the sort of armchair boo boys that come on here and try to tell the manager how to pick a team and pick holes when he's just doing an honest job, and then they go and make fundamental errors like this. It sickens me. It really does.2 points

As someone has already said on this thread, it didn't take long for the knee jerk crew to get some nonsenese posted. Yes the home form is shocking and the team is definately not firing on all cylinders just now but all the teamas go through a bad patch and we just have to keep plugging away. The players that were being rightly praised earlier in the season don't just become bad players overnight and they will come back. Personally, I think some of the team need a rest but with the small pool of players we have, this cannot happen. Foran does not look 100% fit to me and it would be interesting to know if that was the case so some of the posters here can let up with the over the top critiscm of him. Two other points, well three actually. There are still some fans on this site who show unbelievable arrogance at times. This is a hard league and we have no divine right to win games home or away. Look at the results every week and see how difficult it is for teams to win at home. Second, this result has to be taken in the context of who the opposition were. Hamilton are the worst team I have seen for blatant gamesmanship, diving etc and we were bullied by them today becuase we are not stretwise enough of a team to do the same to them. We have to toughen up in that respect (and give them Innes as he would fit right in with his jersey pulling antics). Lastly, abd I don't like saying referees cost us a agame but this time I think the referee did. Not convinced about the penalty for Hamilton but too far away to be 100% sure but definately a penalty for the push on Sutherland late on. Some of the referees decisions were an utter joke and we got very little from him all day. Where he also almost cost us the game was he gave a foul for handball against Duncan, which it never was, and from that Hamilton ended up hitting the post. A kick back against Terry's quote that the SPL don't want us. Time for a Celticesque paranoia scenarion maybe!!!.2 points

Bronson, This is unfair and another reason why the team perhaps do not like playing at home. In away games there is 110% support. At home, elements of the home crowd are negative, silent, destructively critical, and forever pulling players down. Richie Foran is an inspirational leader who gives his all within the energy he has. No player, not even Rossco is superman.2 points

I'd go with: Esson Duff Tokely Munro Shinnie Duncan Ross Hayes Sanchez Foran Rooney2 points

Getting down to the business end again and the same old question arises, can Andy Murray win a grand slam? He is cruising so far, but the big guns are waiting. Straight set wins into the quarter finals and a match against an unseeded, but nonetheless dangerous oponent. Probably Nadal waiting for him at the semi-stage and more than likely Federer waiting for the winners in the final, with Djokovic also looking sharp. With Soderling falling to Dolgopolov, that's one big danger gone. All in all, the Aussie Open is shaping up nicely. Can Murray do it? Big ask I think, beating one legendary player is difficult, beating both of them in the same slam is almost impossible. Good luck Andy.1 point

Holloway thinks hes worth more than £10m and in this crazy transfer market who can blame him. But 18 months ago this guy got booted from Castle Greyskull for not being good enough for the SPL for essentially pennies - now touted for Liverpool or Villa amoung others. When did Charlie Adam morph into 'Super' Charlie Adam???1 point

It must be pretty galling for the gaffer. He always talks up the players, their contibutions and the teams spirit. Yet on here it's doom and gloom. Why are people so negative? There's no reason to be. We've been playing some great football this season and have seen some terrific performances. Ok, so there's been a dip - but look at how many games we've played in comparison to other clubs in the division. A Tuesday night trip to Ibrox can't have helped out in regard to the Hamilton game.1 point

not a hope. will do well to finish top ten. once celtic/rangers get their top 10 league and 3 teams are relegated we will become a 2nd tier team who will find the odd gem like robson, cowie, hayes and then pass them on for zilch (as there is no longer any cash in scottish football ) when they are out of contract, as we will not be able to offer the deals others in central belt can offer. would hope we could get promotion to first tier now and again but if we do our better players will be snapped up end of season leaving us as relegtion fodder for the next season.1 point

She had obviously had this ladies explanation so was able to judge correctly ..... You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have. The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire. Both of you have forgotten your purses. It would be rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes. The shop assistant remains at the till waiting. Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma. She prepares to throw her purse to you. If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes! At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and "whilst it is in flight" you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes! BUT, you must always remember that until the purse has "actually been thrown", it would be plain wrong for you to be in front of the other shopper and you would be OFFSIDE!1 point

I don't agree SMEE. Their opinion was that a qualified FA official would not know the basic rules of the game that they are there to enforce, and have been thoroughly examined on by the FA beforehand, because of their gender. It's a daft and ignorant assumption to make especially by two very high profile football media figures. Either way they are, as you correctly say, allowed their own opinions but to make derogatory remarks in their situation is not really acceptable (in my opinion). As an aside I only know one female (in my friends and family) that actually knows the offside rule!1 point

Think your missing the point slightly, if ICT could develop new ties with famous people do you think it would have a positive or negative effect on ICT in general. If all us loyalfans got in for free who pays the players wages. Karen Gillan and Hugh Grant1 point

Dont think its unfair at all. Foran has suffered a dip of form of late and I think we are all entitled to voice it. I do sort of feel that his own game has suffered since he became captain but I think he always shouted at his teammates even before he was captain. Maybe he is carrying an injury? However discussing on here is very different from abusing players when thery are on the pitch.1 point

Get real guys. 11th place was the target this season and that will be achieved. Give TB & MM a chance to build. I would love to see us in top 6 cos the extra money would be great but our home form is dire!1 point
-
I guess the fact that ICT have, historically, been slow starters and strong finishers in the majority of our league campaigns counts for nothing then. The way some people are going on then Butcher should probably just right this season off and start preparing for next season....if we're really lucky we might just avoid relegation!!!1 point

It would be good if the club did a retro light blue strip to mark the occasion, they could do a red/black strip for Thistles too. Partick did this a couple of seasons ago for their centenary and it raised much needed cash for them.1 point

I think it's fair to say there is more positive support for the players away from home due to the fact they play better away from home. Our home form has been nothing short of horrific this season and I think some of the critisism directed at the players is totally warranted.0 points

The Whiteaps appear to have taken a really young player onto thier books in preparation for their MLS debut.. He was 2nd in the draft and , as a new MLS entrant, they had first choice in the draft but moved in favour of this youngsterinstead. They had been watching him for some time and from the way they are talking about him he must be the new budding Lional Messi or something. From what the coaches are saying he has literally everyuthing to be a great star. Let's just wait and see. I think the first Canadian teams meeting will be a somewhat nervy affair. But I won't be there I don't think, because the stadium is downtown and the transport from the suburbs will be packed. I never drive a car into the downtown because it's either one-way streets or buses and cars galore. Anyway, Scotty , if you are thinking of coming to Vancouver be sure to give me call well beforehand and we can meet up. And you can even stay with me, overnight or whatever, in Maple Ridge and take it from there and, if you want, I can meet you at the airport and will make sure that you can get to one of the Skytrain (elevated guideway rail transport) stations for the match.
