  1. Why do people get so wound up when a party so overwhelmingly voted in for their policies in an area of the uk, try to implement those policies. Makes a refreshing change from those who promise change and then never ever try to deliver. Charles, my thoughts on this are that we would be better off, as it would provide more opportunities. Personally, I know it would be better for my business, but we are also good without. My main thoughts are with all of my children and what it can bring for them. One half of our family is Danish, and we see and hear about the differences all the time, and my wifes family visit here often and cannot believe how backwards the uk is, compared to what they accept as standard.

  2. I see very good things happening for him. He will eventually be moulded into a striker by arsenal. Or wherever he plys his future trade. (Definatly at a premiership level). But the time on the Wing will do him no harm, he clearly has the work rate and clearly has quality to go with it. Could see him becoming a very good striker. Already the arsenal partnership is paying dividence the club deserve huge credit for getting that deal done.

  3. I see that the Stephen Fletcher story is back in the spotlight with the player taking to Twitter to indicate that he is now willing to pull on a dark blue shirt again. I am no fan of Craig Levein. In my view, he is a mediocre manager and a very poor tactician. He is out of his depth as national manager and I suspect his tenure is likely to be short lived.. Fletcher, on the other hand, is a very accomplished player who is a natural goalscorer. He is head and shoulders above any other forward at our disposal notwithstanding the stalwart service given by Kenny Miller over the years. In all probability we would have taken 4 or possibly 6 points from our recent home fixtures if he had played. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the Fletcher situation is one of the few things Levein has got right. Fletcher took the trouble to make it clear directly to the national manager, albeit by text, that he did not wish to be considered for selection after being told he was not guaranteed a place in the starting eleven. It's all very well trying to manipulate the social media to suggest that he is now willing to lend his weight to that national cause but, in my view, unless and until he does the proper thing and makes it clear directly and publicly to Craig Levein that he has changed his mind about the honour of representing the country then he should remain in his self imposed wilderness even if that means the national team doing the same. What do others think ?

  4. My first was the last one. With us been in the spl since 2004 and me being younger than most I never really had the chance to go up until then. Spose that's the price of supporting the bigger club. Anyway. Jonny ran riot that night. Setting up odihambo, and scoring himself.

  10. I think that game single handedly dispels this nonsense of how this team can't and should not attempt to play attacking football. The breaks forward and surges into the box on Saturday looked dangerous on every occasion, and on another day it could well have been more than four. Using last seasons tactics, we'd have seen players like Roberts, Andrew Shinnie, Morrison and Doran rendered useless, but by keeping the ball on the deck, it evidently makes them forces to be reckoned with on the field and even when the ball was played high, there seemed to be a lot more direction and intent in them than before. There was very little of the old "hit and hope" mentality of last season. Many of us have been calling for the binning of the long ball game for a long time and have evidently been proven right. Friday will be a test against a real long ball side, but by playing the way they did on Saturday and taking the game to County, there'll be a few tears before bedtime in Dingwall that night.

  11. I think the "aimless hoof" quip in the original post is unfair. In the highlights he looks up before he crosses. Oh that some of his team mates would do the same. Roberts v Tokely on Friday night............intriguing!!

  12. It's not very scientific and I certainly wouldn't try and read anything in to it, but based on games so far this season the difference in average from last season to this season for each club is as follows.... Celtic -5840 Hearts -1174 Hibernian 630 Aberdeen 1129 Dundee Utd 1092 Motherwell -52 Kilmarnock -315 Dundee 757 St Mirren -204 St Johnstone 1354 Inverness CT 145

  13. Having read the various comments etc - I thought I'd stick my neck out -LAUDERS will be proud to host as many Caley fans as possible both before, during & after the match! We will be showing the game on all screens in ENGLISH (no dodgy arabic commentaries here) Pints are as little as £2 for Carlsberg, large drams (whisky, vodka, bacardi & gin) only £2.55 each and 2 meals for as little as 8 quid (til 5pm)! I feel i need to ask one question though.... Why is it week in, week out .. I am sold Lottery tickets for every football team in this part of the Highlands (including County!) Yet i have never been offered one for ICT! Why is that? Surely the team needs the money? Dont we want to see better players coming here and attracting bigger crowds? Along with many other local businesses i would be delighted to see more activity where we can help put more cash in OUR local teams coffers! WE SUPPORT ICT = ICT WILL SUPPORT OUR BUSINESSES!

  16. Some interesting debate on this but the bottom line is that refereeing performances are getting worse, not just in Scotland, but nothing seems to be done to discipline or improve the referees. I think managers should have the right to comment on referee's performance as it can have a huge impact on games. The referee yesterday was hopeless, easily the worst I have seen at home this season but fortunately we won so not much comment on this from posters. Despite a very very poor performance, he walks off the park smiling, pockets more than a lot of the players and faces no comeback on his many poor decisions. Something has to be done on the standard of refereeing otherwise most managers will be sent to the stand.

  17. To be honest that was as good as it gets. United did start the better with a massive possession advantage but we gradually sussed them out, nullified them and then tore them a new one in the second half. Doran must have had a quiet word in his ear as he was terrific in the second half, tracking back, tackling and playing as if his contract depended on it. All that was lacking from him was a goal that he would have earned. I have liked Roberts from the first time he came on the park for us and he was just outstanding and capped it off with a brilliant goal, well deserved. We really opened up in the second half and it was a throwback to the swashbuckling days of Pele as we flooded forward at times, with players breaking on either wing. Raven played his part today and he can hold his head high again. Reguero made me clench my cheeks a few times but he kept the ball out, all you can ask of a keeper. Richie Foran...........take a bow son. Best game he has ever played, two outstanding goals and a magnificent leap and assist for the fourth that Robert's buried with applomb, fantastic effort from Richie. No negatives today, impossible to criticise, apart from a meagre crowd. No surprise there, but today, they were the losers that went shopping.

  20. I don't blame Levein on this one. Fletcher withdrew from selection, so Fletcher is the one who needs to make himself available by informing the manager, and more than that, Fletcher needs to convince the manager that he is committed to the cause, unconditionally, regardless of whether he likes the tactics or whether he gets picked or not.
