  1. I can say with a fair amount of certainty that ICT are not, and are never likely to be, planning a CD of Celtic Club Anthems.

  2. I hope Butcher doesn't put Jones straight back in, but I fear he will. Morrison is the better and more logical choice.

  3. Before kick off and after the final whistle they'll be ICT legends, otherwise they're tinks.

  4. Nobody is mentioning the return of Munro and Tokely! My feelings are that I am wondering what kind of a reception they are going to get. Both players have been fantastic servants to this club and would have stayed had the manager wanted them and I think they deserve to get a great reception from the home fans. I will despair if the usual idiots boo them. Not just because it is the last thing those two deserve, but booing simply fires players up to play that bit better. We need to make Grant and Ross feel so welcome that they'll be too embarrased to play well As for the game itself, I am really looking forward to it. I am naturally a bit apprehensive but am actually fairly confident we will win. To be honest, a few weeks ago I was thinking we would really struggle in the first Derby and would be clear underdogs. But they are beggining to be exposed at the back whilst we are getting better. I guess it comes down to which team turns up on the day. From today's P&J it sounds as though Terry might start with OTJ now that he is back from suspension. Personally I think the 11 who started against Dundee Utd deserve to start.

  5. Fantastic result. Most of the 2nd half was agony to watch, and we were lost without Foran, until Morrison came on and helped shore things up. Got to praise the defence tonight.

  6. If that is the best BBC can do, it does nothing to promote the Highland Derby throughout the rest of Scotland. I am sure it will be an interesting and entertaining match and deserves better coverage than that. Typical though it takes the media all it''s time to give out any news at all regarding the Northern Highlands unless it is sensational or negative. Thankfull for small mercies though at least we will hear up here.

  7. I never said I or any other ICT fan should/would cheer them. Booing though would be in bad taste. You mention earlier that the ICT fans should "give them pelters". What a strange and disappointing attitude - neither have done anything to deserve pelters and gave their all while they were here, with both would probably far sooner be playing on our side had they not both been forced out. Don't forget either, the North Stand applauded Mark Brown (and have done for others too) when he came out for the second half for Celtic and this was for a player that left out of choice. If their's "no room for sentiment" and you want the fans to be the "12th man", then maybe you'd be better off trying to urge the fans to ignore the opposition players and fully get behind and give all their support towards ICT. That's how I'll be spending my time at the game tomorrow - hopefully you will be too.

  8. Tokely, Munro and Duncan were fantastic servants for ICT. Two were released, the other forced out. There'll be no booing from me and no self-respecting ICT should be either.

  9. I have watched our team play enough times this season to not be the least bit apprehensive about this match, Im just really looking forward to it, not just the match but the whole Friday night thing, its also on tv so anyone out in Inverness can get a free peek at their local team. I haven't really spent any time thinking about the result just the event itself but I have faith in our team, they have faith in themselves, so I think the big balls belief will stand them in good stead. Im just hoping for an enjoyable, loud evening,in a full stadium with a few drinks before and after. This game will mean so much to County, their only down side is that we all know what their players weaknesses are, their players know what their weaknesses are.So I hope they dont just sit back all night and bore their fans and us to tears. A note to the fans, its up to you to make as much noise as you can. we've got a job to do so lets do it.

  10. There will be full commentary of BBC Radio Scotland 92-95 FM within the Highlands and Islands and online from Rob MacLean with John Robertson, Billy Dodds and Jim Spence from 7:05pm tonight. Jim will also be doing updates into the 810 Medium Wave rugby programme.

  11. Amazing how the BBC can shift TV schedules to show a match involving one of Scotlands biggest embarrassments....yet the mere suggestion that the do the same on Radio for an SPL Derby is unthinkable. Bring on an Independent Scotland and getting shot of the BBC

  12. This did not feel like the caley stadium tonight. Great buzz around the place helped by great team performance, goals, tactics, subs etc etc Possibly best game experience at home for a long time!

  13. There is a contract to broadcast rugby on Medium Wave on Friday nights which, as I understand it, pre exists the SPL's introduction of Friday might football. That only leaves 92-95 FM since Radio nan Gaidheal use their frequency at this time as well. These are the facts - the rest is my personal opinion since I am not in a position to express one on behalf of the BBC. And that opinion is that whilst there is sufficient interest in the Highland derby in the Highland area, it is justifiable to fill the Highland Radio Scotland airwaves completely with sport, these is not sufficient interest in the game throughout the rest of Scotland (and please remmeber a lot of people don't even like sport) to broadcast it there to the exclusion of all else. (Remembering that the game is also online.) If you are concerned about only getting (south based?) news about the Highlands that is sensational or negative, you should try the BBC's local bulletins for the Highlands and Islands at 0654, 0750, 1254 and 1654 with shorter summaries at other times - Monday to Friday. Charles you Know as well as I do that as long as the Highlands are not publicised Nationwide they will remain in the backwoods. The only way the Highlands are going to prosper is through good publicity and plenty of it. Local bulletines are all well and good but come on it is time to spread the word. Perfect example tonight, a great game of football that any football fan anywhere would appreciate. Poor show BBC, audio online only not everyone has facilities to listen to it.

  15. 1st goal - Munro beaten in the air by Draper 2nd goal - Munro swipes fresh air to let Foran through 3rd goal - Tokely too slow to react to Mackay's header and Doran nips in to strike it home. Thanks guys, legends indeed.

  22. Fillu appreciate where you are coming from and your point about players and referees having an off day is well made. However the referees can help themselves in some areas and that is by getting the basic decisions correct in games. How often do we see blatant fouls not given, throw ins/corners given to the wrong team etc etc. I think if referees got the basic decisions correct, this would diffuse a lot of the flak they are getting now. Of course there will always be contraversial decions where the refreee has to call it as he sees it without the benefit of seeing 10 replays but I would argue that if the really basic errors you see week in week out from referess were cut out, the situation would improve. I also think the media have a lot to answer for as, with all the replays they have, they can and do have a go at referees rarely indicating that the refreee could not see the incident how the multiple cameras have caught it. Something has to be done to improve the quality of refrees however and the SFA have to take the lead on that. Just quietly dropping them down a level/grade does nothing. I also think the SFA is hugely culpable with the younger referees coming through by turning them into virtual robots. The younger referees seem to be brainwashed by the SFA that thye must referee in a certain way which takes away the refrees discretion to deal with certain situations. If a refereee did that nowadays, he would probably be marked down hweres in days gone by, common sense would have been exercised by the referee but they are now too afraid to do this.

  23. I'm totally against video replays and other such technology. Trial by TV after games is bad enough, could you imagine the outcry if refs had video replays and still made errors....which is exactly what would happen.

  24. If we are so superior then we don't need to boo any opposing player. Just use our breath to cheer on the boys in blue. Just put Roberts or Blackman on to Ross Tokely, and Foran onto the other defensive players and these guys will be run ragged. Ross will be taken off midway through the second half and before the newbie sub can get his breath ICT will have scored another goal. Yes!! Yep,The Vancouver Whitecaps had a 4-0 romp at home last night and Barry Robson and Kenny Miller were excellent so I expect ICT to cream Ross County, chums. It will be mid-morning for me here in Western Canada but I will tune in to see what BBC crumbs I can scrape off the floor.

  25. Now that I agree with - I won't be going out of my way to boo them both individually though. In answer to the original topic thread though, I'm starting to feel fairly confident about the game. I'll tell you know, Ross County are not going to try and win this game, and I don't think they will. They'll hit it long until they're red and blue in the face, and I'll be expecting some crunching tackles between Munro and Foran, some flapping and all round dodgyness for the legendary Michael Fraser, with some other shenanigans along the line (this'll probably involve Derek Adams in some way!). Let's get this straight - ICT are going to win this game and win it well. There's going to be some sad and lonely faces in Dingwall tonight, so much so that I'm going to be taking my camera along with me to rejoice in this beautiful spectacle! In conclusion, let's get it right up these rat faced, soup dodging, wagon racing yokels!

  27. Best of both worlds. A very good chance of progressing to the semis of this competition for the first time and at least £150,000 in the coffers into the bargain.

  28. Sales have been very brisk this week, but still seats available. There will be cash gates for both home and away fans, but please try to organise your tickets throughout the day if you don't have them already to avoid the inevitable queues and traffic congestion. An evening kick off always sees fans arriving later than normal, and tomorrow won't be an exception, but being a Friday night and much more local traffic than normal, things could get really congested. Please aim to make the stadium by 7pm if you can to make sure you don't miss kick off. Same for ticket collections, the box for collections is looking pretty full and only going to get fuller, so please arrive early. Have I made myself clear enough - GET DOWN EARLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. Will we be favourites as the SPL team? Thinking back to the start of our brief history, it actually seems quite extraordinary that we could be going to play at Ibrox against Rangers and be considered favourites! It is a reflection of how the respective Boards have managed the two clubs and how far we have come in that time. Win or lose, it is something we should be proud of but it is a match which we should have every chance of winning.

  33. As I said, not in any way scientific....but maybe a hint that, other than for Celtic, things don't appear to be as bad as we maybe thought they might be.

  34. Well, unlike many, I'm so glad the game is on Friday because I'll be able to see it, which I wouldn't if it was on Saturday. I always feel very apprehensive at derby games, and I've really hated the few occasions when we've been beaten by County. But I'm quite optimistic about this one, purely because of our unexpected gubbing of United and I think County will be somewhat demoralised after their 5-4 defeat but so nearly a draw. It's all about maintaining composure in this one - I think and hope that County will be overcome by the occasion and lose theirs!
