Personally, I was too busy savouring back to back Highland League titles by the most entertaining side ever to grace a football pitch in Inverness in the early seventies to pay too much attention to the contents of the pies.3 points

From a diagnostic perspective I would suggest that you may have a Dissociative Identity Disorder - join the feckin club !! - I also considered whether you had Possession Syndrome due to spending such a long period of time in the Jeggie culture and its belief systems. I suspect that most Jeggies have been possessed and that could be a source of the apparent delusion that they were the equals of Caledonian FC. Strangely it also appears to have affected other pre merger individuals - a prime example is Charles Bannerman - he masquerades as a Caley man but there is clear evidence from his vernacular that he has been possessed by the dead of Kingsmills and the cultural chaos of Ross- shire.3 points

Maybe you should heed your own advice! It's a shame actually; this thread could have been quite interesting, but due to it's derailment by the regular suspects/aliases/trolls it's become less "Merger Talk" and more like "Merger Cringe".2 points

After a short spell at Nantwich Town after we released him, I see Oswell went out to Australia last month and signed for a team called A.P.I.A. Leichhardt Tigers, in the New South Wales league. So the space of a few short months, his whole world has been turned upside down.1 point

It will do our seeding rank for 2016 some good, ensures we will be in the 4th pot as we were in danger of slipping even further. Delighted with the result!Delighted i was so far off.1 point

TBH, its refershing to see an SPL player turn down the Orcs and playing in SFL2 when they are interested, afterall no matter how many times Bell, Daley etc say its because its the chance to play for a big club, what they really mean is 'we are getting big wages to play against builders, plumbers & candle stick makers'.1 point

Normally I'm of the belief that "the table doesn't lie" and the best team finishes top, the second best team finishes second, etc... But I just don't think St.J were the third best team in the league last season at all. In fact I think they were pretty poor, so I'll be interested to see what happens to them.1 point

How can we do this? 1) Good young players are being picked up by lower league English teams and offered many times the salary we can offer - if someone offers you 2,3,4 times your salary would you not consider moving? 2) All lower league chairmen look at their young players as assets and want to cash in, and sadly we have no cash to buy so again its off to Englandshire. 3) There is a perception in Scotland (even more than elsewhere in the uk) that Inverness is the back of nowhere and players just dont want to move up here based on geography and would rather stay central belt or go down south 4) We dont want to be paying high salaries to journeymen Scots just to fill the numbers, when we can sign young, developing talent for less from elsewhere.1 point

Can we give it a f*cking rest with all the merger crap on every thread. The same few people dragging conversation onto that topic time and time again, boring the sh*t out of the majority of other users and killing the forum.1 point

Its still a portakabin - no matter what colour it is, surely the builder could make something a wee bit more professional? it all stinks of temporary to me.1 point

Putting in a shout for The Kessock Stand. Down in Totton, there's a local pub called The Bell. We were hoping they'd be interested in stand naming sponsorship so we could have a Bell End.1 point
