  1. "very competitive pricing.....takes into account the time of year and the economic challenges facing many supporters" says Doncaster in that statement, hoping that nobody has noticed the 25% price increase since last year, when it was at the same time of year and supporters faced the very same economic challenges.
  2. Rumours that he stood down because the board refused to appoint Craig Brewster as manager again are yet to be confirmed...
  3. I think that's a bit harsh on Steve. He has incredible contacts in the game built up over many years and Inverness have benefitted from those contacts. Let's not blacken the boy's name, he done a great job and pathetic comments about unpopularity amongst the players now he is gone is pretty low. It's not unthinkable that he would work up North again and I would rather it was in a place where he would feel welcome and this thread is starting to develop a nasty little feel to it. To say he was unpopular without naming names to back it up is also a little cowardly as the boy can't speak up to defend himself. He worked like a dog for Inverness and really loved his job here. If he rattled a few cages on the way, so what it's not a popularity contest. If anyone could do his job then why don't they? Come on Steve Marsella should be a hero here, he has done nothing wrong in my opinion.
  4. More than happy they take their time.
  5. Billy Reid played utterly horrific football at Hamilton and recently failed to get the Airdrieonians job. No way!
  6. Great day for ICT, about time we let the heathmount mob go extinct.
  7. 2 points
Why the fell in obsession. There's been more posts about him since he dumped us than there has been in all the time he worked for us. Time to forget and move on.
  8. Think that was more to do with the then Chairman (Savage) and Niculae than the manager ..... but all in all, more of a PR kind of thing as I dont think we ever got anyone into the team as a result of their recommendations. Have heard stories about SM being unpopular with some folk, mainly back in the days prior to Tokely and Munro going, but bottom line is that he picked us up a few excellent signings and seems to have a good eye for a player so in that respect he will be missed. However, I do agree with what others have posted ... its onwards and upwards as we go on to better things under our new management team, whoever they may be. I don't want to wish messrs Butcher, Malpas and Marsella any ill - well I do really but it seems a little petty given the positive impact they had over the last 4 years - but I really can see it all ending in tears down there and I will smile a little smile and raise a glass to karma when it does .... ICT gave Butcher time to bring in these 'rough diamonds' and for Butcher and Malpas to get the best out of them. Was Billy McKay an instant hit? Doran? Meekings? no, but Butcher persevered and we are seeing the benefit of that thanks to a pretty faithful and patient group of supporters and directors .... dont think the Hibs lot, fans or board, will be that patient.
  9. as an outsider, Hibernian fan, I feel your loss although some seem to be taking a stance that it wont hurt that much. again, I don't think the whole situation was handled very well at all. we, Hibs fans, are happy that we have got what looks like a winning team in respect of the management squad we now have. but, we also have the lingering doubt that is.......wait a minute, we're Hibernian fc, we've ****** up before and we shall do so again. hopefully not immedietly this time. best of luck to you guys this weekend, and maybe more importantly , get intae that Gorgie mob in Feb, get to the final. you should have been there last year!. I was totally disgusted with the fact that the semi is being played at our holy ground. A lot to do with the fact that those cheating thieving barstewards are able to defile our holy ground once more, but more to do with the fact that your fans are having to travel approx. 150 miles to the game and those scummy fucks can walk to the game. it is outrageous!. many Hibs fans on the fans forums are backing ICT in regards to the letter to the SFA/SPFL about the silly start time, the fact that the A9 is gonna be atrocious at that time o' year etc. Dundee, or Aberdeen is where it should be played.
  10. Is there any rule that say you MUST have a manger? A lot of things in football seem to happen because "it's always been done that way"...but maybe there's a better way?
  11. If we play like we did against Hibs when we had no Manager taking responsibility we should do fine. The team all looked very relaxed and like they were enjoying themselves ,and played like they wanted to win .So come on same again tomorrow please ...No pressure ...Enjoy !!!!
  12. I'd rather they took their time, with Duncan Shearer, Foran and Kellacher holding the ship (all very capable) for as many games as it takes, than rush the appointment and end up with someone rubbish.
  13. The Hearts fans, who said they were very happy with the venue last year and would like more of the same please
  14. There's also the bit about fan feedback? Was anyone asked for feedback on last years venue etc?
  15. Heathmount regulars will be in for a treat tonight.
  16. From what I gather Marsella didn't 'find' the players. He was sent down South to look at players that had been recommended by certain agents. They were found for the club and Marsella was the man to go and watch them. He'd then report back to the club. Plenty of footballing people could do that job. Not as big a loss as some people think.
  17. I'm quite sure Billy Reid will have applied for the post but I doubt he's been short-listed. We've built our reputation and stock much higher these days and are in the position to be able to sift out the 'journeymen' merry-go-round managers! There are candidates of a far higher calibre to choose from. I will run naked around the stadium before the Morton game if he's unveiled as the new boss. And you really don't want to see that.
  18. Quote from: http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/ICT-draw-up-shortlist-for-new-boss-21112013.htm "The board has, after careful consideration of a huge inflow of applications, decided on a short leet for the managerial vacancy," he (Kenny Cameron) said. Leet = a special annual or semiannual court in which the lords of certain manors had jurisdiction over local disputes. Interesting way of going about it!
  19. I'm warming to Shiels, his experience and all round work ethic could work well in our small community. Hartley is an up and coming young manager who would be away at the first call from a bigger club and lets face it, there are probably 10 bigger clubs considering facilities etc.
  20. I would imagine it is more a case of Grassa resigning as his nose is out of joint due to his power being diluted as the boardroom is a much more professional place these days.
  21. Every single one of our starting XI is better than anyone in the Hibs side. I fully believe that. There is no one in the Hibs team I would take at ICT. Butcher would be mad not to be looking at the likes of Meekings, Shinnie, Draper etc. but that doesn't mean he will get them and I don't think he will. As I keep stating, I would very much welcome our club moving quickly, if they aren't already, to get new deals on the table for these guys. Look at Aberdeen tying up Hayes and others now before they can be approached by clubs in a couple of months.
  22. Kenny Shiels is top of the shortlist according to Daily Record. I would be pleased with that if true. Him and Jimmy Nicholl would be great additions to the club but just hope he doesn't draw bad press!
  23. Not enough Huns and Heathmount leckies lol
  24. I was told he wasn't very popular with the players. Why do so many people think we are just going to fall apart now that Statler, Waldorf and now Chicken Tikka have gone? We won't. Plenty of people, be it managers, players, coaches, chairman, board members, etc. have left this club in the past. We are still make steady improvement year on year. For every Josh Meekings we signed there was Tom Aldred. Forget those 3. We all know how the story at hibs is going to pan out. The king is dead. Long live the king.
  25. If we happen to be beating hibs at Easter road I might be partial to some caley away with terry and mo.
  26. And if you get a chance to go to a match, it is highly recommended. As a visiting fan from Watford, I was made to feel very welcome and Caley Thistle is now my second team. I believe I have a replica shirt coming my way from Father Xmas too that I will be able to wear with pride to my beloved Watford
  27. CaleyD - you may have picked up on the fact that I don't fancy Sheils for the gig. I've had the misfortune of listening to his histrionics on Radio Scotland on numerous occasions so my previous comments are simply my personal opinion on the guy. I don't see how this constitutes misrepresentation. Graham Speirs is one hack promoting Sheils' appointment and there have been several others singing his praises. To me his cringeworthy rants are manna from heaven to these guys. They want him back in work as his pantomime dame act gives them plenty to write about. I don't want him at ICT but as I'm merely a punter expressing my opinion on a supporters forum I seriously doubt the powers that be or Mr. Sheils will be losing sleep over my thoughts on the matter. I kind of thought that was the purpose of a forum......
