  1. Well that was the best away day in feckin ages. Early morning start - two carriage steam train to the End of the Earth, travelling at a maximum 40mph - two pubs in Stranraer - one called The Pub and one called The Fitba Pub - great craic all day with a crew of REAL ICT fans - A shitthole of a ground, pissing down rain and a gale force wind. Standing on a grass embankment watching a game of football being played in a peat bog. FECKIN, FECKIN GREAT. As fer the game I think that the euphoria of last weekend spread down both on and off the pitch. It was a typical cup game and we were the Goliath but yon wee **** David missed our napper when he threw the last stone. And if his boss will let him off work I reckon that he will be dunked in the replay. I actually thought that we looked by far the better side and that we could and should have put the tie to bed. Shinnie did not have his best day at the office but Doran afforded him little if any protection. Doran is putting on the beef. He scored the first goal but he just seems to have lost pace and is not doing it fer me. I agreed with Yogi benching him. The others who did not impress me were Warren - he may have been very brave but he could have been booked once at least fer silly fouls. And their second goal was another defensive slip up and another goal where the opposition just ploughed through the middle of our defence. I thought that Watkins played OK considering the pitch. I also thought that Draper defended and worked well although he aint no playmaker. Tansey is another who looks like he needs games but he should have been the playmaker. Vincent struggled as well but he must have felt more match fit after that. My only criticism of Yogi is - where the feck was Foran supposed to be playing ? I thought initially that it was going to be a 4-4-2 but then he appeared to be more wide rite. Anyway good to see him back. I am going to suggest a business plan to Kenny Cameron - win both cups this season, go feckin beserk with signings and wages next season - win the treble - get into the last 16 of the Champions League - then go into administration - rename the club Caledonian FC and travel to real shittholes every other week.
  2. Our next five cup games this season will be on the telly.
  3. Just returned from overnight stay in Ayr after game at Stranraer. Would just like to say a big Thank You to Jen , Lyn,and Bob for getting us there and back safely. It was a very good fun trip enjoyed by All, and in very good company. Thanks again and look forward to the next one
  4. £83,000 is the figure SKY have been paying each team featuring in live broadcasts of Scottish Cup ties for years, useful income for a club of our size and a great windfall for the likes of Stranraer. However, to put it in perspective, it is less than the lowest finishing English Premiership club get from broadcasting rights every single day of the year.
  5. Given that the club is a business, and that even a thousand extra fans at the match would generate a fifth of the TV income, the preference has to be for TV. Diehard fans will go anyway.
  6. Sorry but I disagree with givemeaccccc and one or two others on this. CC did not make a derogatory comment on the crowd who attended the match - quite the opposite in fact. What he did say is that the club DESERVES more fans at the games and I doubt there is any ICT supporter who would disagree with that. I also read Christie's Inverness Courier column last Friday where he compliments every fan who made the effort to get down to the semi final and even makes the point that the club must look after the regular season ticket holders for the final as well as attempting to engage new supporters in the club.
  7. We were bound to come down to earth after last week's high ,were still in it and bound to go on and win at home. Roll on the cup double .
  8. Ah well. Still in the draw for the next round. Unlike Celtic or Terry Butcher.

http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/Row-threatens-end-of-Inverness-and-District-Welfare-season-05092013.htm As far as I recollect, about 10 years ago or so they fell out with the Scottish Amateur FA and hence defected to the Scottish Welfare FA with whom this latest fall out seems to have been. As I recollect, they were also with the Welfare before the Amateur back in maybe the 60s and 70s but am not clear as to whether it was also a fall out that led them to go Amateur in the first place. I am also unclear as to whether the rattle is in need of retrieval again because they have gone back to the SAFA for a second time or whether they have resolved their differences with the SWFA. But in any case the people who organise the football you see on midweek summer evenings at the Buight and elsewhere around Inverness seem to have an amazing capacity to fall out with the establishment, whoever they may be!
  10. Back to bed Kingsmills - you know what he means - those days should be long gone by now!
  11. I am coming from Brisbane, Australia for this one. Costs a fortune but is worth it for our first major final. I was all set to come to the final last year but we fell at the "final" hurdle. Not been to a match (other than a pre-season friendly v Clach a couple of years ago) since the match v Dundee when we were presented the first division trophy as we bounced straight back up. Came over specially for that one too. Hoping for an equally as successful outcome this time.
  12. Scot Rail have tweeted that they are in discussions with clubs about putting trains on. ScotRail ‏@ScotRail 1h We’re working with Aberdeen + Inverness FCs to put on extra services for fans travelling for League Cup Final. We’ll update asap.
  13. No need to discourage anyone whether they regularly attend or not. Given the venue, there will be tickets for everyone. The more the merrier even those who might not watch us again unless and until we reach another final.
  14. Yeah, I've been thinking about this... What we could do if we have too many games close together, to stop the players being burnt out and ensure we can still rotate the starting 11 as required, is just field 9 men in some games. Nae bother tae us!
  15. Aidan Chippendale is now playing level 7 in England with FC Fylde. His name may suggest he's muscle-bound and like's centre-stage, but his football career seems to be heading in the thong direction!
