Malpas in the Scotsman on 13th Nov 13 - “I want to be at a club that’s got a chance to win trophies. Caley Thistle have got a great chance this season, but I just felt the potential here is far greater. “I’m a football guy who likes being on the training field and the facilities here are unbelievable. And it’s not anything to do with money. It’s about the things here that Caley couldn’t give me. That’s why, as soon as Terry asked me, I said yes." Potential to win Championship Trophy and the things Caley couldn't give....................lower league football

Edinburgh now has more pandas than Premier League clubs.

Hibs apparently showcasing their new kit of green top and brown shorts.

With The Rangers, Hearts and now Hibs all moving into the Championship there should be some pretty decent gates in that division next season. This will be not just for games between the big three, but clubs such as QOS and Cowdenbeath will find the season a real money spinner. The top flight will be without 3 big clubs and that will impact on the average gates, in fact there may not be a lot between the average gates in the 2 divisions. Whilst money continues to talk in the football world in general, it has been a good year for the smaller clubs in Scotland. We had another top 6 finish, County survived another season in the top flight, St J won the Scottish cup for the first time in their long history, Cowdenbeath prevailed over Dunfermline in the League one play off and today Hamilton saw off the once mighty Hibs. I can't help but think that this must be really good for the game in Scotland. As for Butcher, I know he only has himself to blame but all this vindictive gloating is really in rather poor taste given all he did for our club. However, I'm not averse to a bit of bad taste myself from time to time - so Relegation Terry?

Always on the cards. I have taken a special interest in this one. Backing whoever Hibs were playing has netted me a tidy sum. I even backed Hamilton to win 2 0 today at 20/1. Went to Hibs Killie game. they were dire then and they are dire now. Oh Mr Butcher................what have you done??

I see the Highland League yesterday issued their fixture list for the entire season. I know there is the complication of the play offs but such efficiency and consideration for fans on a negligible budget puts the SPFL to shame. Not only that, they have a league sponsor.

Maybe in deference to TBs ICT connections, we should offer to play Hibs at Easter Road so that they have at least one pre season friendly against glamorous top league opposition....

You've got to feel sorry for Terry. As he said: "When you're relegated, you deserve to get relegated and it's over the piece, it's over the whole season and not just the last game" Maybe if Terry had taken on Hibs before they were in the relegation zone - say mid-season, on the edge of the top six - he might have managed to keep them in. But, let's be honest, it was an impossible job for any manager faced with trying to overtake a club with the budget of Partick Thistle. Mourinhou couldn't have beaten an Accies side with household names like Routledge, Longridge and Andreu. Let's hear it for a true hero and a died-in-the-wool Hibee, Mr Terry Butcher. Let's hope he keeps his dream job.

Fixture set up to benefit the Edinburgh side, who are then 1 goal up despite being the second best side going into injury time. Stunning injury time equaliser and then a penalties win for the better team. Where have I seen that before this season at Easter Road ?

  18. It's all very well to say that ticket prices should be slashed to try and get more people through door. I'm sure the club (and other clubs too) would love to take the price down to try and get more people to come however there are real financial issues to take account of. Our prices are in line with the rest of the Premiership and I'd imagine are set to try and maximise the income, much higher and there would be a large drop off in people coming, much less and the extra people coming doesn't make up for reduced prices. We've had a couple of good seasons so I believe our finances are reasonably healthy but if I recall before this we'd often be looking for about £200k a season to balance our books which we seemingly managed to do through various means. So where do we cut prices from as we run on a very tight budget? No doubt if we slashed prices and made a huge loss people would be on here moaning that we're not financially prudent enough and the board could be threatening the future of the club, or perhaps we could cut the playing budget to pay for it, would folk be happy with that? It's nonsense to compare us to Germany or even England and say 'but look they're cheaper, or just a wee bit more expense and look at the world class football you can see' These leagues and teams take in in colossal amounts from sponsorship, tv rights and investment and can quite frankly afford to make it cheaper for their fans. We can't, the prices are where they are because that's where they need to be. If we were turning millions in profit every season, fair enough we could afford to cut prices but we don't, personally I think it's more scandalous that they have the cheek to charge over £3 for a hot dog but that stops me eating more fast food so it's probably a good thing tbh.
  19. First he's illiterate because he miss-keys a letter when typing..........now he doesn't even know his own name. What hope has the poor lad got with fans like ours?
