  1. Not sure how last seasons start was superior to this. We may have had one more goal for but we conceded two. This season 4 wins and a draw with five clean sheets has to be better surely. As to the next three games I believe we can take at least seven points and still keep a clean sheet. In a league table +8 is better than +7. Scoring goals is also considered more important than not conceding.

Hopefully when it slams shut at the end of today Billy, Josh and all the others in our fine squad will still be safely on the right side of it. Ideally, would be nice if they were joined by another experienced forward but the crowd of less than 3,000 to watch the league leaders on a lovely late Summer afternoon is hardly going to bolster the recruitment kitty. If we don't manage to bring in anyone then we can hardy be blaming either JH or the board.
  3. Smee you can make 1 transfer a week or you can save them up say for 3 weeks then you could make 3 transfers that week. Also there is a wildcard that you could have played and saved yourself 20pts. That card is available right through the season but only available once, Also in January there is another Wildcard available but only for a few weeks . Formations are easy to change for example if you have been playing 4-4-2 and you wanted to play 3-5-2 simply take your midfielder from subs bench and drag him over the defender you wnt to take out job done

Ryan Christie would be an ideal candidate for one of these 'buy then loan back' deals I hate, yet seem to happen all the time these days.
  5. I never checked this thread until today, so I've joined up now. Already had a team in my work league, so hopefully I'll still have my points! Hope that's alright.

While I would like to see one striker come in and push Billy, having seen the games so far its worth noting there is great versatility. We coped with Warren and Devine out to sacrifice Draper into the backline. We also have Tremarco meaning Shinnie can cover any manner of positions including midfield along with Polworth, Doran, Ross and Foran who can all push to play. When Foran will return he could cover up front for Billy as can Watkins, or whats to say even Draper might do well in that role? Overall the squad has a few very versatile players along with youngsters and providing we dont have a significant injury crisis I think having the small squad we can cope but at points JH may have to make bold decisions such as dropping or resting Billy or otehr key players plus we have to make sure Ryan doesnt burn out. Its clear there is a terriffic work ethic and team spirit in place and if we have to stick with the lads we have until Jan then I'd be happy. Focus on retention not addition is the key right now IMO especially as we all acknowledge money is tight.
  7. Our behooped 'friends' were a major contributor to that state of affairs ending
  8. Most defintely. Alex Neil and Paul Hartley would be a close runner up considering how well they've done since promotion. Give it to them I say! We all know what happens.....
  9. Just love the positivity of these poste. Uplifting and inspiring. Long may it continue. Eh Bughmaster?
  10. Just seen the highlights very happy indeed and the passing game is coming on. The issue we had is we didn't pass quick enough but judging by the 4 mins of highlights from yesterday and highlights of the other games the passing is quick and threatening but the movement is outstanding. I know im just watching it from the best part point of view but most people seem absolutely delighted by how we have played since the opening couple of matches and all i can say is I wish i was back in the highlands to renew my season ticket again. As for attendance Jim Spence gave it as 3830 and the BBC have given it that but i remember our crowds were in between 3500 and 4,000 for most in the first division and it always looked fuller than that so i think it was probably 2830 instead. Shame with the football on offer and what looked like a beautiful day but although it would be good for better attendances i'm a Fan and although i cant get to home games any more im proud to support officially the best club in scotland
  11. I was about to ask if this had been our best start to a SPL campaign ever but last years was superior, just. This stage last year we had 4 wins and 1 draw (away to Celtic 2-2, our only conceaded goals) and a goal difference of +8, we then beat Killie away 2-1 before going down 1-0 away to Aberdeen. Our next 2 games are away to Partick and at home to St Johnston, 4 points from those and we'll have done better than last year, has to be a short term target. I've been really biting my lip this past couple of weeks about how impressed I've been for fear of jinxing it. Hughes hasnt totally won me over yet but the clean sheets are a major plus in that direction.
  12. ...and an ICT record since last conceding a goal. Brill, Raven, Meekings, Warren, Shinnie and Draper, take a bow!!!
  13. 5 games in and already 13 points clear of County .... very enjoyable
  14. Hoping inverness will look like this on tonights weather report! "A massive smug cloud is expected to travel north and collide with a whirlwind of anguish and desperation, the tragedy has already cost the adams family their jobs"
  15. So basically a bunch of PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLERS struggled doing this and you are only giving £100 for it, i doubt many people could get it in a boot of a car from 7 yards never mind 67!!!!! Must be nice to have so much money that £100 is such an insignificant amount! That's not what he said. He said that doing something that a professional footballer can't is worthy of a bigger prize. No where does he say that £100 is a trivial sum
