Aberdeen's Andrew Considine seems to prefer a different style of music. WTF! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWFGL4kbgVc
  2. Been reading that the club along with the rest of the SPL will see £150000 being paid out if Celtic beat Malmo and reach the group stages of the champions league. (as opposed to around £35000 if they don't) That's a decent amount for a club like us that's presumably not budgeted for (therefore a bonus extra). Wonder if this would allow the funds to get in the pacey or physical striker Yogi is after?
  3. That sounds like a group that would make a float for the Mardi Gras!
  4. Just seen the highlights and struck by how poor our defending was for their goals. On the plus side, it was a nicely taken goal from Lopez having initially won the ball and then got into position to get the ball back in the danger area. Hopefully that will give him a bit of confidence and he can start knocking them in in front of the home fans. What strikes me though is that whilst we have done well prior to the Celtic game to concede so few goals without Warren and Meekings, we are decidedly vulnerable at the back and are inevitably going to ship a few goals. Unless we play with a more positive attacking intent then we are going to lose a lot of games. If Saturday showed us anything, it was that we do have players who can score, given the opportunity. Forget about clean sheets, lets just focus on scoring more goals than our opponents do.
  5. One I missed in recent weeks is Tarmo Kink who has in fact scored 4 times in 4 starts for his new team, FC Levadia in Estonia, who are lying top of their league. A pity he couldn't do it for us last season, although, to be fair, I don't remember him getting many chances.
  6. I've just realised that, whilst the Scottish Cup was the 5th trophy we have won, it's the first one we'll actually get the opportunity to retain!
  7. considering many on here have been saying how ***** ICT, yourself included are at this very early stage of the league, with injuries etc. I'd say you'd goto this away game & spend £125 as : against celtic, see ICT score 2 goals, see Lopez may be better than we've seen. Many more reason but most of all to support the team. Oh -,let us ALL be honest. That may well have been a case of damage limitation and an effort to try and keep the extent of the loss down - and we were lucky to get the result. BUT what about the faithful who really did go there to support. It was one of the only away games that I could have gone to for a couple of months. That could have cost me at least £125 and fer what. considering many on here have been saying how ***** ICT, yourself included are at this very early stage of the league, with injuries etc. I'd say you'd goto this away game & spend £125 as : against celtic, see ICT score 2 goals, see Lopez may be better than we've seen. Many more reason but most of all to support the team. Firstly I have not made any such comment or suggestion demonT - probably said more of what you do !! You evidently don't go to many away games as Parkhead is undoubtedly the worst fer many ICT fans - look at the numbers yesterday. And perhaps to simplify what I was actually alluding to I would have been furious if I had decided to go and see that starting X1 and the bench. Yogi has tried to shut up shop before at Parkhead and it resulted in similar, albeit worse. There is no way either that Christie or Lopez were carrying knocks. For Mary Hill to depart during a game says it all to me. To me you always play yer best team. And that to me is acceptable criticism. And my Ferrari is heavy on petrol but train or car is usually a £60 cost - the heavy £26 for sitting in a distant corner of Parkdread - and of course pre and post match libations and eateries. £125 wouldn't cover your bar tab.
  8. Andy Barrowman was prolific at that level too though.......
  9. What about Faissal El Bakhtaoui of Dunfermline Athletic? I see today he's scored his 8th goal of the season and Dunfermline have only played 4 games so far in their campaign. I fully appreciate we don't have the finances to just put in a bid but if a potential sale of Ryan Christie goes through and we have a bit of cash at hand then surely El Bakhtaoui would be a viable option for the club?

Until the club and or the player have actually been contacted regarding a move I take this story with a pinch of salt. The press have made a story based on what? My understanding is that we have not been contacted by any club and where the bandied about figures have come from I dont understand. JH is reported to have said he'd let Christie go if we could keep him on loan. Seems a bit tongue in cheek to me. Why would any club pay a large amount for a player just to let him continue playing for the supplying club especially considering they could get him on pre contract come january and only have a possible development fee to pay. That is exactly why the club needs to address the issue NOW and not at the end of the year. If we allow Ryan to go in the Jan window under a pre-contract, our board should resign. A bit harsh considering they are the board who have kept us in the black at the same time as overseeing the most successful period on the field in our history. Of A bit harsh considering they are the board who have kept us in the black at the same time as overseeing the most successful period on the field in our history. I really don't think anyone is stupid enough to think that Ryan doesn't have a say in his future. He is not a big earner at this club because we didn't have the foresight to make sure OUR position was as secure as possible. I wonder what Charlie would advise him to do if he was offered £1500+ per week plus the usual bonuses to stick another two years onto his contract (with an agreement to let him go if an acceptable offer came in). We have to make the effort because if this one gets away someone has to carry the can. This is the board's opportunity to show that they are being proactive and protect the club's BIGGEST asset because this is an area they have NOT been good at in the past.

The best outcome for both club and player is for Ryan to continue his development at the club by signing a two year extention to his contract and to stay for at least another year before moving on to an English Premiership club for three million pounds plus add ons and a sell on percentage. If that means making him the highest paid player on the books so be it. A perfect opportunity for the club to speculate to accumulate. Win win for both club and player.
