  1. That would fit in well with our numerous ties with Italy.

A hot headed Irishman now where have we seen that before
  3. Rory McAllister scoring all 5 for Peterhead in their 5-3 win away at Falkirk in the Petrofac cup. Wow!

Rory MacAllister has scored four goals so far tonight for Peterhead against Falkirk, the last one a 40 yard strike. Just saying Come back Rory, all is forgiven. He has scored his fifth goal tonight.
  5. Twitter suggests Ferguson scored both
  6. We are winning 2-1 at half time. I have no idea on teams or scorers though as I got that info from Bet365 inplay betting.

He scored fewer goals than Curtis Allen last season in the same league, despite playing for a higher-placed club. My enthusiasm has been dampened!
  9. Just seen the highlights and struck by how poor our defending was for their goals. On the plus side, it was a nicely taken goal from Lopez having initially won the ball and then got into position to get the ball back in the danger area. Hopefully that will give him a bit of confidence and he can start knocking them in in front of the home fans. What strikes me though is that whilst we have done well prior to the Celtic game to concede so few goals without Warren and Meekings, we are decidedly vulnerable at the back and are inevitably going to ship a few goals. Unless we play with a more positive attacking intent then we are going to lose a lot of games. If Saturday showed us anything, it was that we do have players who can score, given the opportunity. Forget about clean sheets, lets just focus on scoring more goals than our opponents do.
  10. Its little consolation given how easily out classed we were yesterday, but we never stopped chasing lost causes, its a good habit and brought us two goals we probably deserved for that effort. This looks like we are going to have a hard season where the players are going to dig deep and given the attitude of the players during the Celtic game the positive mentality is there and if it continues that's going to be an advantage.
  11. Well done the boys for pulling 2 goals back it's still very early days so I'm going to remain positive
  12. Well, we won the second half! Also, stats show we managed 9 shots today with 5 on target. So there must be some plus points from a game that was always going to be a struggle for us with our makeshift defence. I would suggest that when we get Warren and Meekings back in central defence, if we continue to create chances up front, then our season should improve dramatically. Defence of Scottish Cup a realistic target. Believe.

We need pace and work rate over the need for a new striker as such IMHO as we're lacking penetration and the ability to stretch the opposition. And if he can play up front it will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Billy Mckay wasn't an out and out striker when he was signed and had a very mediocre goal record. However he was converted into a goal getter. Utilising his key attributes pace and work rate. As for Lopez, I haven't seen enough of him to see if he's really an out and out striker. Some have noted a poor work rate but the British mentality of running your socks off isn't always the best option. Intelligent movement. But work rate aside he's been starved of service. We're just not creating service and clear cut chances. And not creating chances makes strikers look isolated and poor. Seems Hughes views in the Scotsman compliment my thoughts. “We’ve got a boy, Toby Ajala, in on trial from Torquay, and what we’re looking for is someone who makes defenders take a step back, because they’re strong and quick. It will give us room to play. A lot of what we’re doing is in front of teams. We need to be more cutting and dynamic in the final third. “Toby’s an out-and-out striker and looked sharp yesterday morning. He came and watched the Partick Thistle game and, hopefully, he might be the one"

Big fan of players with pace to burn. Something we don't have a lot of to be honest. Perhaps this lad could be another Hayes type player. I look forward to him signing for Aberdeen in 2017.

Found an interview here from when he signed for Cheltenham. Notice at one point he says he can play 'up-front, in the hole or out wide'. I've read somewhere that he can at right wing back as well. Going from what his previous clubs have said about him, they do seem to speak fondly of him. Seemingly his pace and work rate is really good.
