Exactly. It's so tedious hearing 'where did all the Ryan C/Scottish Cup/Europe etc money go?' It's keeping the fecking lights on. PS: Europe cost us money.

All our windfalls go towards paying players and managers. It seems to have been the case for many years that the core sources of income just aren’t enough to sustain us at the competitive level we want to be at.

Great to see some proper communication. Personally I would have preferred more of a damnation statement but that would be improper and unacceptable in this day and age. Also some of the statements lead to more questions - as have all been asked before. The most worrying wording to me is "we reported that substantial new investment (comprising some cash, higher sales and shares purchase) is required in 2018 to sustain our business." - Sorry folks but that suggests to me that we are in the proverbial s*** and that our future is far from secure. Worrying times ?

The past was marvellous but now history, the present is full of doubt whilst the future is now ALL about survival. A journey that unfortunately appears to be out of our hands. I hear that there is the inevitable sugar daddy saviour waiting in the wings but there are even elements of that really worry me. Every club makes mistakes but our glory years were also years of mismanagement. Some people were in it for more personal gratification and appear to have simply ignored the potential perils of success, oh and let's face it we are not ready to jump back up to the top division.

Better Still, we need an effective and efficient youth system that produces a player we can sell on for a decent fee at least every couple of season. The fact that we have only 'home reared' one player that we have been able to sell on for a substantial fee in almost a quarter of a century is a sad indictment of what we've done st youth level over the years

I've just returned to Inverness after 10 days "away". I was mystified why I couldn't find any mention of our club's game on a blank Saturday, following our failure to beat Dundee and consequently progress into the next round of the Scottish Cup. I felt sure we would have fixed up a game to make sure we don't accumulate our normal pile-up of fixtures at the real business end of the season, when suspensions and injuries can take their toll. I had assumed that the club had spent a lot of money to ensure a few of our recent home games went ahead showed that as worthwhile aim. I tried unsuccessfully to research online why we did not fix up anything. All became clearer when I visited the Inverness library today and read the last edition (last Thursdays) of the Highland News. The back-page had it all - the head-line "Dunfermline Snubbed Over Irn-Bru Mess". It quoted our manager saying that the uncertainty over when our Irn-Bru Cup semi-final would be played left the club with no time to make arrangements to play a league fixture.. This is really unbelievable. We were knocked out of the Scottish Cup on Tuesday 30th January. That very evening, Dunfermline Athletic proposed to our club that we play our scheduled game against them on our Irn-Bru semi-final week-end on our blank date. As detailed on the Dunfermline Athletic web-site, Chairman Ross McArthur commented "as both ourselves and Inverness had a free Saturday on the 10th February, with both clubs being knocked out of the Scottish Cup, I have tried very hard since Tuesday evening to see if Inverness would re-schedule our fixture to that date. Inverness declined to do so. Therefore, we have agreed with our colleagues at Livingston that we will reschedule our outstanding fixture from 30 December, to next Saturday 10 February. I am extremely grateful to Livingston for fitting in the match at very short notice." I am surprised that this has not raised one single comment. If 11 days notice of a re-arranged game is not enough, then just how much time does our club need? We now face a Tuesday night journey to Dunfermline for the re-arranged game on 06 March. That's a pleasing thought for our Inverness supporters don't you think?

Sadly, this all just goes to show the level of mismanagement by previous boards. I know the current board is trying to turn things around and are probably the most business orientated board we have had. Let's all hope we can turn HMS Sneck around and sail into a bright future.

How true this is. As a club we cannot survive at the level we want to be at from gate attendance money.

Receiving compensation when a manager goes to another club is totally different from when a manager is fired because he is not getting results. I guess adequate performance as a football manager is an extremely subjective thing. If we had clauses as Kingsmills suggests then we would be having every manager who is sacked going through the courts to claim compensation for unfair dismissal etc. It could cost the clubs more than just paying off their contract. Foran's 4 year contract was just plain stupid though.

Seems an honest enough appraisal of where we are, avoiding negative wording where negative wording might be more appropriate. Like IHE, I also picked out the requirement for new investment as cause for concern, despite the almost positive spin! It seems that running a small club in the upper divisions of Scottish football is unsustainable as a business. At the end of the day, someone has to foot the bill. We need a sugar-daddy!

That's an honest and genuine update, indicating a desire to protect the long term future whilst striving to return to the top level. We are a small club and need to find a way to live within our means and maximise our achievements. I am heartened by the statement. Roll on Sunday, assuming the pitch is playable.
