  1. Go on a trip to get all the finals players to sign it, then give it to the club.
  2. What utter nonsense, back in my day blah blah blah. I've been going to football matches for near 30hrs, various clubs the length and breadth of the country not necessarily to watch ICT just to see a game and have heard fans all over react like said fan mentioned in the original post. It happens everywhere, at every ground, every week of the season and it won't change. Yes there's ways to go about it but no one person is the same and everyone reacts differently, if you take offence to it do something about it, don't take to an online fans forum and vent your frustration making out it's much worse than it is. It paints a bad light on the rest of the fans.

In late January 2000 I was made redundant. A few days later I bumped into a former colleague, who said “Sorry to hear about what happened, it’s so unfair. You must be pretty pissed off” I said “Aye, totally gutted. We had just got to the ground when we heard it was off....”
  4. Butcher and managers before Hughes seemed to get on okay with signing players for less money than Yogi had to play with. Why did he sign so many stinkers? He was a great manager for us and took us to places we'll realistically never see again but it was time for him to go. The public fall out between manager and chairman was only going to end one way. Foran was an unmitigated disaster. On every conceivable level. We'll rue the day he wasn't punted after that Accies match you mention. Who knows where we would be if he had been binned and we got someone else in. All ifs buts and maybes now sadly.
  5. Yogi wasn't given 'peanuts' though, that's simply not true. He was given a bigger budget than any previous manager. I don't think he was blameless for some of our issues upon his departure as he clearly engineered the situation but yes the board and Foran have to take the bulk of the blame there. Nobody I remember at the time wanted Foran as manager really. More of a wishful 'I like him and I hope he does well.'
  6. Yogi was a legend he had us punching well above our weight and playing attractive football something we ain't seen since! The jury's out on his signing how do you replace the shinnies and Watkins etc on the peanuts the board were giving him was also unlucky with injuries to the likes of Thompson sho silva and meekings! The real blame for running down our club is the previous board sticking with foran after that scudding by Hamilton and backing him with decent cash btw mcnaughton and Billy Mackay would've been on big dollars! We'd binned him then and got in likes of Peter Houston I believe we'd still me a mid table spl side
  7. Suggestion, the young lad with the drum. Let him in for free so long as he stirs up the north stand to sing throughout the game, or if we are really watching the pennys give him a half time pie and a cuppa for his efforts. And maybe tell the north stand Stewards to let them stand up and sing. Sure they're meant to sit but do you ever see anyone sit down and sing?
  8. I think it was put quite well by whoever it was that said to me "John Hughes is more clever than most people think but he's not quite as clever as he thinks he is."
  9. Whatever anyone thinks about Caleyaway fans they definitely get behind the team so much better than the home fans. 100 % agree what Robbo was saying , not that he just blamed the home fans but said it was different to what the team gets on the road . I have no problem with shouts of frustration , it’s mainly the quietness and lack of any atmosphere that’s the problem. As for the team being rubbish , then why are we top of the away league but 8th in the home league that’s the point Robbo was trying to get across , of course it’s not all down to the fans at home , he is just looking for answers and lack of home support contrasted to loud vocal support may be part of the answer.
  10. "There are a minority of our fans who think John Hughes was a failure at our club. As far as I am concerned there should be a statue of the man outside our stadium" Charlie Christie Sportsound 7th February 2019.
  11. What are you havering about? we beat Sevco 3-0 on their own midden in the league cup and hearts, you can only beat what is in front of you we finished 3rd only Celtic and Aberdeen were more consistent, clubs with massively greater budgets so don't rubbish the club's achievements. Oh I nearly forgot,we also won a cup that year beating the top team on the way.
  12. Keep it in one piece. Part of our history now & will be worth more intact.
  13. I can't remember exactly, but it's about 15m x 10m.
  14. Simple answer is improve the quality on the pitch, it's not rocket science. There will always be a hard core element of fans who'll go no matter what, then you get the element who on the whole will go if they haven't got anything else planned then you have the rest who will go when the team plays well. Happens at every club in proportion and will always continue that way. I fall into the middle category where life dictates when I can go and this season has slipped away from me but I'd love to go to more. No amount of match day entertainment or better facilities will change that for me and I believe that the increased costs involved for putting on this type of activity outweighs the benefits through the turnstile.
  15. Couldn't agree more, I too was guilty of having more than my fair share of discussions about this and now I'm bored of it. How does a post like this help our current situation other than causing further divisions on the forum between posters, move on, accept it and look forward. We're in serious danger of becoming that club that always looks back and thinks what if.
  16. Maybe not peanuts but defo not enough to replace the Calibre of players we lost and still would've been the lowest budget in the spl! Dunno if he did engineer his departure spoke to yogi a few times he seemed to proper enjoy living up here who mos tho! Ye your right most fans were shocked at forans appointment would've been a good assistant manager Richie!
  17. The night I will never forget! I had a good boss that gave me a half day to go back down to Parkhead and bhoy was it worth it. Going into work next morning was great.
  18. Travelled to the first game, called off 30 (?) minutes before kick off. Trudged back up north. Couldn't make the reply as I had a chemistry test that afternoon and the teacher wouldn't let me take it at another time. Also missed Bucharest as well so I've probably missed two of the biggest nights in ICT history. Wouldn't trade it for Stirling Albion away in the League Cup though...
  19. Hand out free beer and whisky before games at home. Problem solved. Or possibly made worse ?‍♂️
  20. I wonder who gave a young player a start in the game who is now starring for one of the big Glasgow teams
  21. A topic that has been done to death and I have been as guilty as most.. We are where we are, no matter who's fault it is we are here. How we got into this state is no longer important. What is important is where and how we go from here and how things can improve.
  22. It's amazing how aspirations are affected when there are no teams from Edinburgh or no sevco in the top flight. Without them everyone could aim for 3rd or 4th place, irrespective of budgets.
